How do you know he's nice? Did he bring you coffee? I was so much more productive this morning since I had no milk and had to go to Starbucks for a latte .... I didn't sit around on my computer all morning!! I got stuff done!

Nope--don't drink coffee anyway but he was quite pleasant and put booties on over his shoes when he came in to look at the window :P

got another idea for a halloween costume--Lindsay Lohan--so I'd do a dirty red wig, prison jumper pulled tight on the top with some cleav and black bra and fancy belt, rolled up on the bottom with the ankle monitor and some fancy pumps, a syringe taped to my arm and a baggie of cornstarch for the coke....

Overdone??

Not at all  Would Jesse go as the guard or warden??? Or how would he dress as a probation officer?? Maybe the arresting cop??

Today normality officially returned to the shaky isles  The godwits, knowing nothing of earthquakes in the lower hemisphere, officially returned to Christchurch, and church bells pealed across Cathedral Square in the heart of the city to celebrate their annual return after a nine-day, 11,000 km (no, sorry, I don't do conversions, just live with two systems) migration from Alaska, to the common estuary of our two rivers for their summer feeding grounds. :D Remarkable birds, those godwits - sure glad our Boeing 777-200ER jet doesn't take that long. Can you imagine nine days wifout food, or taking along gluten free food for the ride???

DH and I have gone as famous, easily-recognised couples to Hallowe'en parties, and the real reason that we were so incredibly phunny and memorable was because I went as the male figure and hub went as the woman. This you should do, Rah-shyelle... . . ....you're the cop, he's Lindsay. Yer peeps will be talking about it fer years. . .....

B)

Shrooomie! The godwits.. . . . ....have never heard of these creatures. Must look them up. Gads, they must be wasted, skinny little things...nine days??

kareng Grand Master

Rachelle, love the Lindsey idea with one of you as a cop or guard.

Shroomies bird's must be thinking, " What the French toast happened here? We leave the humans in charge for a few months and they trash the place!"

Just looked the birds up. J is impressed with the athletic ability. I like the long beaks.

Well... . . ...here is some certain comedic fodder. In their description of the black-tailed godwit, Wiki states that "The winter plumages are fairly drab, but three species have reddish underparts when breeding."

Omg. . . . ... . .... . . . .their areas turn RED whilst breeding? Whot in hell?.. . . .....Trying to come up with a pragmatic, evolutionary reason for this to happen. Plumage, size and coloUr changes are said to occur to ensure the procreation of species by attracting the opposite sex.

Hmm. I should think that red would suggest a big stop sign for me. .. ....

Canna imagine being attracted to.. . . ..something suddenly red.

However, I am not a godwit... . . .. ....

Just went to the "Gluten Free Gala" at HyVee grocery. For some reason there was a huge array of sweets to sample but nothing else. I did my best to sample them all! Some were extremely delicious!

Actually, I think it was Mother Nature what did the trashing. The humans did the befouling of the estuary :o, since the sewerage system isn't fully restored and some of it is still escaping into the rivers:unsure: Hope the godwits stay safe.

Watching SNL. Got an idea for Russell's costume. The girl said she went last year wrapped in cellophane. She was a left-over.

Deeeeelemmmmmma pholks, must start planning now.....need help!!!!

Good friend is throwing her annual Halloween party this year.

Our annual Halloween shindig is coming up too, but we're supposed to go as fairy tale characters

T'is 'British cheese week'

I love cheese..... the smellier the better huh.gif

:greenguyphace:

I LOVES me cheese, but........

Brad & Angelina. Each carry a doll of different races.

Last year a couple went as John and Kate plus eight. She wore a cocktail dress and a boa. He was Asian and had 8 babydolls pinned to his shirt.

I have a little story to tell.

I am SOOOOO confused!!!!

kareng Grand Master

Curly Lisa, you could go as a character from Shrek. They are sort of twisted versions of fairy tale characters.

The background characters? Wicked witches parents? They must have been some mean, twisted people. The police looking for Snow White when she disappeared into the woods? Did they put out an Amber Alert ?

curlyfries Contributor

Carla is back!!!!!!! She just couldn't stay away

Didja bring any of our other missing psillies with you?

People!!! What am I doing here??!!?? We're camping this weekend and I have not even STARTED getting ready!!! Gah!!!! OK, so maybe it's one of those unconscious subconscious things of not really wanting to go. Uggghhhh!!! So much work for so little time actually on location.

You're camping THIS weekend???? HERE?????? :o

It is waaay too cold at night, as far as I'm concerned.

Didja get rained out yet?

How about passionate purple......or pink?

Much more appealing, methinks. B)

My favorite Halloween costume was when my friend dressed in ragged, dirty clothes, gave himself a makeup black eye, and his shirt read, "The Economy." One year I was Strawberry Shortcake, one year my husband and I went as Johnny Cash and June Carter...You could be a couple of the kids from Twilight...

plant sources of calcium, such as spinach, have calcium bound to oxalates, which is not good. best source of calcium is unfortunately dairy, do you tolerate dairy? fermented dairy like kefir is good and or a little hard cheese. i do eat dairy, i can only take so much dietary restriction and gluten is hard enough! but i guess some people do have bad reactions to it, so different for everyone.

i take b12, folate, b2, b6, glycine, Nac, zinc, vk2 mk4, magnesium, coq10, pqq, tmg, creatine, omega 3, molybdnem (sp) and just started vit d. quite a list i know.  I have high homocysteine (last checked it was 19, but is always high and i finally decided to do something about it) and very low vitamin d, 10. have been opposed to this supp in the past, but going to try it at 5k units a day. having a pth test on friday, which is suspect will be high. my homocysteine has come down to around 9 with 3 weeks of these supplements and expect it to go down further. i also started on estrogen/progesterone. I have osteoporosis too, so that is why the hormones.  anyway, i think all celiacs should have homocysteine checked and treated if needed (easy enough with b vit, tmg). homocysteine very bad thing to be high for a whole host of reasons. all the bad ones, heart attack , stroke, alzi, cancer..... one of the most annoying things about celiacs (and there are so many!) is the weight gain. i guess i stayed thin all those years being undiagnosed because i was under absorbing everything including calories. going gluten-free and the weight gain has been terrible, 30#, but i'm sure a lot more went into that (hip replacement - and years of hip pain leading to inactivity when i was previously very active, probably all related to celiacs, menopause) yada yada. i seemed to lose appetite control, like there was low glp, or leptin or whatever all those hormones are that tell you that you are full and to stop eating. my appetite is immense and i'm never full. i guess decades or more ( i think i have had celiacs since at least my teens - was hospitalized for abdominal pain and diarrhea for which spastic colon was eventually diagnosed and had many episodes of diarrhea/abdominal pain through my 20's. but that symptom seemed to go away and i related it to dairy much more so than gluten. Also my growth was stunted, i'm the only shorty in my family. anyway, decades of malabsorption and maldigestion led to constant hunger, at least thats my theory. then when i started absorbing normally, wham!! FAT!!!

Great advise there I agree with the aniexty part, and the aura migraine has I suffer both, I've also read some great books that have helped I'm going too look the one you mentioned up too thankyou for that, I find a camomile tea just a small one and a gentle wind down before bed has helped me too, I suffer from restless leg syndrome and nerve pain hence I don't always sleep well at the best of times , racing mind catches up I have decorated my whole house in one night in my mind before 🤣 diet changes mindset really help , although I have to say it never just disappears, I find once I came to terms with who I am I managed a lot better  , a misconception is for many to change , that means to heal but that's not always the case , understanding and finding your coping mechanisms are vital tools , it's more productive to find that because there is no failure then no pressure to become something else , it's ok to be sad it's ok to not sleep , it's ok to worry , just try to see it has a journey not a task 🤗

I agree there I've tryed this myself to prove I can't eat gluten or lactose and it sets me back for about a month till I have to go back to being very strict to settle again
    • trents
You may also need to supplement with B12 as this vitamin is also involved in iron assimilation and is often deficient in long-term undiagnosed celiac disease.
