I use a clip and twist it up .... I can never make a comfortable pony tail. But, a baseball cap looks cute with hoop earrings and my braces. :D

February. It's been one year this month. I will get a tooth positioner to do the final details, it cuts months off treatment ... it is to be worn 24 hours per day the first week, except when eating, then a few hours per day plus night, then night only after a while.

The ONLY thing that bothers me about them is that it's hard to play my flute. In fact, it sounds horrible.

okay Tom - - we are going to LET GO of the topic of Susie's cheating now. and, this is exactly why I shall not mention it again - - it just keeps coming up (like the burps after a doUGHnut binge!)....

can we PLEASE talk about something more important for God's sake, like the Care Bears with machine guns???????????????????

Who's talking about cheating? I'm talking about experiments!!

Will they be secretly done w/ zero benefit to our delightful & precious community, or will our 'canary in a gluten gorge' acquiesce & supply our world w/ potentally VERY valuable info?

Truth be told, in your situation I'd probably be looking to see if I could do a few experiments to gauge reactions to each of the 3 offensive grains.

I would SO SO love to be able to distinguish betw being barleyed and wheatened.

P.S. Silliness still on hold. And of course I haven't touched soy in any form since may 29th. :P

4 doctors go out duck hunting: A general practitioner, a gynecologist, a surgeon, and a pathologist.

A duck flies into the air in front of them.

The gp doesn't shoot because he can't identify it positively as a duck

The gyne doesn't shoot because he isn't sure if it's a male or a female

The surgeon blasts the duck out of the air, turns to the pathologist and says "go find out what that was"

oh - -- don't EVEN get me started on the curly hair!!!!!!!!!!!

I shall tell you a small story.

a year or so ago, I was minding my own business, driving a long stretch of hideously boring, flat, and ugly freeway, coming home from the beach. Highway 99, arguably the nation's ugliest freeway - where one finds oneself left with only one's thoughts, tunes, panting dingos, one's insanity, and the stench of dairy.

So anywho.....I happen to glance over at this elderly woman in a car next to me - she could have been anywhere between 57 and 80, who knows.

I started pondering her hair.....it was simply a white, thinning, puff of frizzball, a halo around her head, completely left in its natural, untouched state, and there she was, in front of God and everyone, rather saying - - "here I am, this is me, this is how it is, and there you go."

And I thought to myself - - at what point does a woman just let things completely GO - - just revert back to the default setting of one's hair - - no dye, no curling, no blow-drying, nothing. And also, no makeup. (*gasp!*)

 had kind of a little chuckle over that one. Because, the answer, for me, is NEVER. I will FIGHT this freaking, coarse, half-gray FRIZZ BALL until the day I dye, for god's sake,

AND IT IS A TEDIOUS AND FUTILE ADN EXPENSIVE AND EXHAUSTING FIGHT, is it not, Ladies????

:angry::angry:

I have decided that the way to age beautifully and gracefully and without too much fuss is to have STRAIGHT HAIR. The curly/frizzy hair just reverts to a shorter puffball in one's latter years. Makes me FURIOUS.

My hubby has hair ... on his head even. Men don't actually lose hair ... they grow it all over, except on their head!!

Most days my hair's just frizzy and I only have on mascara and lip gloss .... if I'm going somewhere other than the grocery or Starbucks, I'll get out the curling iron and tame a few curls like I did yesterday when I snapped the picture ... it only takes about 5 minutes ...

I used to do my hair and makeup every day ... I'll do that again sometime. :D

Hi Daughter.

Please explain

1. Danzon

2. your Care Bear theory and disdain and the brainwashing by said Bears

3. Why you are so bored

....and anything else you care to reveal.

Do you REALLY want me to explain all that?

Ok.

1: The Danzon (pronounced Dan-son-with-an-almost-g-sound with a spanish accent) Is a spanish dance commonly done by the COURT of a Quincenera. I'm In my friend's Court this year and am dancing with an 11 year old that wouldn't know the Danzon from his left foot. (hence the frustration...)

2: the care bear theory is the fact that... Ok. Carebears, frankly, scare me. They are colorful bears that talk. They have extremely stupid messages that brainwash our children with the ideas of a society where they are trying to make everyone like everyone else. If you look at my last posts, you will see that the other brainwashing kids shows are...

A: Boo-Bah

B: Telletubbies

C: Whoever decided to change Dorothy to a new goldfish and created "Elmo's world"

Now, I actually like Sesame street and think that the new shows, like Booh-bah are harmful to children's minds. I mean, they waddle around saying "Boo-bah" and farting! The teletubbies do not speak intelligebly (and by intelligebly, i mean so that you can understand them) and do the EXACT same thing every time. If you look at other new kids shows, you start to realize that the media is trying to turn our childrens brains to mush after brainwashing them all day in school!

3: The reason why I was bored is because... I had nothing to do? Uhh... yeah. I think that was it...

I *gropes for words* Like to read? And write poetry? (obviously...)

Cows

I do think I'm funny,

And you will think so too,

Once you know

Some of what I do.

When I try to go to sleep,

I count cows instead of sheep!

Cows jumping over fences,

Jumping over moons,

I count cows instead of sheep!

I am crazy, don't you think?

FINALLY I went to the doctor,

I said,

Doctor, Doctor, help me please!

I count cows instead of sheep!

That doctor gave me a book,

I read it through and did it,

But still It did not work.

I count cows instead of sheep!

I am crazy, Don't you think?

-Me, when I was nine.

But, in general - no news flash here - guys are more like that woman on Hwy 99. Nary a care for spending actual time on hair.

BUT!! Those w/ facial hair WILL pay attn to it. My last trip to SJ, I kinda just didn't get around to shaving for a week then got creative during the shave. Actually had a Fu Manchu for a couple days  hehehehehehehe. Friends who've known me for 18 yrs said things like "I didn't know u could DO that!", and in asking for honest opinions I got nothin' but positives. But it didn't much feel like ME.

Oh hair, hair, hair.....I am lamenting mine right now. I cut it (myself!) to shoulder length. It took about an hour and a half (the thought of actually getting it done was too tiring- how sad is that?) and it came out fine, even etc but now it's too short for a proper pony tail. DUMB DUMB DUMB.

It now looks like this

Hi all, I have to have gum surgery tomorrow and was wondering if I should ask for this new drug, Journavx, instead of Vicodin.  I tried looking it up online and got, Not gluten free.  There is no gluten in the ingredients for this drug.  ????  Has anyone else had experience with Journavx?  Advice?   Many thanks, Charlotte

Hi Faye,  Sorry I didn't see your post sooner.  I suffered from ataxia as well.  None of my drs. thought it was dairy.  They were wrong.  Turns out lactose intolerance was the cause.  Pancreas just isn't making the enzymes like it used to.  I now drink lactose free milk for the calcium and eat lactose free yogurt by Green Valley, when I can find it.  My ataxia problems vanished.  Hope this helps.

This article might be helpful. It breaks down each type of test, and what a positive results means in terms of the probability that you might have celiac disease. One test that always needs to be done is the IgA Levels/Deficiency Test (often called "Total IGA") because some people are naturally IGA deficient, and if this is the case, then certain blood tests for celiac disease might be false-negative, and other types of tests need to be done to make an accurate diagnosis. The article includes the "Mayo Clinic Protocol," which is the best overall protocol for results to be ~98% accurate.

I give this advice to everyone who is considering quitting their job: always try to line up a new job before you quit. Why? Because it's easier to find a job when you have one--unemployment for a stretch of time can be hard to explain, especially if the period of unemployment is prolonged. Also, unless you're independently wealthy or have family support, people tend to get desperate and take any job when the money is running out, so you could end up in a worse job. Just my 2 cents...
