I was waiting for you to volunteer to go through it with me. Sort of long-distance barmy buddies, weighting our data points together.

I'm there, Jyesss... . . . ....I'll be data-pointing and conferring with ya the whole way.

Um, I'll be able to let you know when you've split an infinitive or dangled a participle... .. . . . ....very handy in the world of statistics, I would imagine. <_<

I have to learn a programming language. I'm doing the non-required but extraordinarily useful classes on line and what I've learned so far is that knowing English grammar is a disadvantage.

(whadya mean you interpret this phrase right to left?? who's dumb idea was that? And why does this phrase need a semicolon, and this one not?)

So true. .. . . .....gotta tell ya, I am SO tired after all these years of having to constantly apologize for the English language... . . . . <_<

Hi everyone!

The squirrel baby didn't make it to the animal hospital, we were meeting the lady for the animal refuge at 4:30. The little one stopped breathing at 3:45. We buried him the back yard...We named him Tiny. He was so cute.

the story behind him...we had a squirrel eating away the siding up on our 2nd floor....we had no idea she had babies...and the baby fell out of the nest and we found it....and John put it back by where he fell so maybe his mom would come back....Saturday morning he was still there....and it had been a cold night..SO we took him in and got him warm and started to call around so he could get help. He was about the size of a matchbox car.....

sadly he is gone...but in a better place.

Jestgar Rising Star

aaww. He was awfully small. At least you tried. you did good.

Back to the blues . . .

She could chew blue bubble gum?

She could carry a bouquet of blue cotton candy?

Is the dress long? . . . blue suede shoes?

Here's a serious blue suggestion . . . some sapphire earrings (or some type of jewelry)

Good morning, Psillies!

This morning in our local paper there was a big picture on the front page of hundreds of Chinese people squashed together in the Yangze River, trying to escape the 40+ C heat wave. I was suddenly picturing our Sooooozle and Pahteigh's faces amongst them.... .

How about baby blue bra and panties? Really lovely, lingerie-type - - could be a late shower gift from someone, perhaps.... . . . . .

Anybody else have problems getting on today? I was shut out until just a little bit ago but I see that there was posting done whilst I couldn't get on. Anybody?

jerseyangel Proficient

I did hear of a couple people having problems getting on and posting. I haven't had any, though.

blueeyedmanda Community Regular

I finally got on!!!!!

mushroom Proficient

I quite often have that problem when I'm home and when I get back on find that everyone has been merrily posting away, but had no problem here in Nevada today.

SILLS!!!!! Today, I took Janey for her cataract surgery, and whilst waiting, met the loveliest woman from Quebec.....we spoke for nearly an hour (broken French and English and....what in HELL is that accent? She was correcting my prononciations, but, I have a perfect accent (my only talent), so I"ve always been told by Parisians, etc.........

Em - you MUST call me on the phone so that we can hash this out  Chiennes - j'ai eu deux chiennes - I can't even tell you how she was saying "chiennes" - - - - like "she-ayne" ?? when I have always learned "she-ENN-e"

:kind of a silent but pronounced "e" on last syllable, a gentle schwa, actually:

<rather certain everyone but Poeter and Slim Shady are bored with this discussion>

I am certain that the differences in prononciation from France to Canada are very much like what we have in the transition from Europe to the twangy South, but, I just don't have enough experience <in French> to discern?

That's it - I'm taking my babies and we are moving to trop chere Quebec for the rest of the summer ;)

This woman lives in - GET THIS - Chowchilla (after Palm Springs and Santa Rosa, nice areas) - - worst freaking Valley town EVER and people are moving there in DROVES - including a close friend of mine - to live on the golf course, in a tree-less, dairy-stink, flat, dusty town with NUTTIN' to do. Big horrifically ugly houses for 150K..........what in hell? And I do mean nuttin' to do there, just ask me mum, who married a man from Chowchilla (we pronounce it with a schwa - Cha-CHILL-ah, to make fun of it  ) and told him, if we do not leave this town, I will dee-vorce you. They moved.

YAY! Mattresses everywhere! AND: we must bring respective dogs, cats and civckebs.... . . . .

:) yes, and squirrels, chillens, spouses. Going to be mighty crowded here. Must make sure everyone is quite drunk. *hic*

. . . but here is my squirrel news. I spotted him yesterday . . . a half albino squirrel . . . his tail is white and his body is probably a couple shades lighter than our regular squirrels (but not white) . . . talk about funny looking . . . and no, it's not paint.

um, we WILL need a pic of this mutated squirrel! and....is he stalking you?

Today I ordered on ebay actual Tahitian vanilla beans to give more fragrance to my products that don't already have enough vanilla scent. And, to make my own scented oils - maybe. Plus, three tiny fragrance samples from yet another home-scent crafter. I am on the quest for the perfect and longest-lasting vanilla. What a colossal waste of time. Yet, I cannot stop.

I need help. I haven't met a vanilla I don't like.

Pretty well...I just stay in all the time  The apartment is small, so the air conditioner does a nice job.

We went to this great outlet mall on Sunday (to die for....) It's not enclosed, though, and it was so hot out that I didn't even feel like shopping  That's how you know it's hot :P

I ended up with a rolling pin and 3 pair of underwear......pitiphul <_<

I'm so sorry you're going through this—the "gluten challenge" is notoriously brutal, and it's awful to deliberately make yourself sick when you've already found the answer. For the joint pain, many people find that over-the-counter anti-inflammatories like ibuprofen can help take the edge off, and using heating pads or warm baths can provide some direct relief for the aches. For the digestive misery, stick to simple, easy-to-digest foods (like plain rice, bananas, and bone broth) and drink plenty of water and electrolytes to stay hydrated. It feels like the longest month ever, but you are doing the right thing to get a clear diagnosis, which can be crucial for your long-term health and getting the proper care. Hang in there; you can get through this! This article, and the comments below it, may be helpful:
    • Scott Adams
Daura Damm (a sponsor here) uses AN-PEP enzymes and filtering in their brewing process to reduce/remove gluten, and it actually tests below 10ppm (I've see a document where they claim 5ppm).
    • trents
This topic has come up before on this forum and has been researched. No GMO wheat, barley and rye are commercially available in the USA. Any modifications are from hybridization, not laboratory genetic modification. Better toleration of wheat, barley and rye products in other countries is thought to be due to use of heirloom varieties of these cereal grains as opposed to the hybrids used in the USA which contain much larger amounts of gluten.
    • Scott Adams
Welcome to the forum @Ceekay! If you have celiac disease then you can't eat wheat in other countries because it would still contain gliadin, the harmful part of the grain. Have you been diagnosed with celiac disease?
    • Ceekay
I can eat wheat products safely and without discomfort when traveling to Mexico, Outer Mongolia, and Japan. I feel that US wheat, barley, and rye are grown from genetically-modified seeds that have had something unhealthy done to them, that causes a bad reaction in many of us.
