Mark's wee room? Thought you were moving into an apartment? I am confoozled.

It's confuzzling to me too  Mark's been living up here in a guest house during the work week since early May, driving down to south Jersey on the weekends, where I've been staying at my son's house since early July when I moved up from Houston. We are moving into our (brand) new apartment Tuesday--it's about 10 minutes from here. Can nae wait to sleep in me own bed again :D

MIL is here.

I didn't realize she was visiting....hope all is well :)

She flew out here for THIS:

And here I was wondering if she played hockey or contract bridge  And she really hasn't been there much, so that helps. Half the sympathy withdrawn, especially since she's not a hockey player

Was wondering if Nik would comment on #5. Do they still use cobbler in polite conversation? Or even not so polite?

Em, did the MIL just show up at the door? Couldn't you pretend you weren't home? Had gone on vacation? Moved? Died?

Dear gawd, she would find me......... . . .....she's a gold medallist in walking, so she would just walk, and walk, and walk, and find me.... . . . . .

Keep drinking and try to be in another room. That is my strategy for my FIL and his wife. Maybe the kids and the dogs can take her for many walks? That puppy could go for hours!

Quick pop-in. We live in interesting times. Personnel issues at the store are keeping us both challenged. We are losing one for sure--she is going to university out of town in less than a week. Another, who has just come back from family-related leave, needs to cut back on her availability as school demands increase. We are hiring, and have more applications than we have ever seen in a decade in business. We are down to a short list of two, but can't decide between them. Trying to line up another interview with each of them. Got one on for Wednesday; the other hasn't returned the call yet (not sure if the human who took the message can remember to deliver it).

Hub has hired many people in HR. He said if you have 2 you really like, you can't make a bad decision. He also said, decide what is most important - the ability to do the job really well or a personality friendly fit. Some times in small offices, personality fit is more important than how well they can do the job. Also, I know that when I have interviewed people the second time, they relax and weird sh&& comes out. Had a girl I was ready to hire. Had been working as a temp with us. Asked her why she was fired from previous job - for stealing! Stuff had been missing from others purses and desks at our office, too.

I was asked in an interview what I liked on my pizza? Pizza day was very important and my tastes needed to fir with theirs. I like black olives so I got the job.

As the wheel turns, so are our fates decided -- on our food preferences??? Otherwise I have complete agreement with Karen's post.

Man, would I hire somebody who puts black olives on their pizza?...... . . . . ..

Absolutely. Not even a question. And the individuals who say green peppers? Sorry, we have nothing for you at this time.:lol:

I must remember this. . . . . . ....I do NOT order the black olive option when getting pizza, but I sure as hell will lie about that if I am ever again interviewed for a job... . ....

Which begs the question of pepperoni vs. sausage....I imagine many first-time job seekers are tripped up by this one....

<sigh> the house closing has hit a minor snag and won't happen till Thursday.

On the phlip side--we are moving in this afternoon as scheduled :D

Im so frustrated and still getting the run around trying to reprove my celiac disease which my past primary ignored for 25 years.I understand that theres a ray of medical that doctors are limited too but not listening and telling the patient ( me) that im not as sensitive as I think and NOT celiac!Correction Mr white coat its not what I think but for cause and affect and past test that are not sticking in my medical records.I get sick violently with foods consumed, not eating the foods will show Im fabulous. After many blood draws and going through doctors I have the HLA- DQ2 positive which I read in a study that Iran conducted that the severity in celiac is in that gene.Im glutenfree and dealing with related issues which core issue of celiac isn't addressed. My skin, right eye, left leg diagestive issues affected. I have high blood pressure because im in pain.Im waisting my time on trying to reprove that Im celiac which is not a disease I want, but unfortunately have. It  has taken over my life personally and professionally. How do I stop getting medically gaslight and get the help needed to bounce back if I ever do bounce back to normal? I thought I was in good care with " celiac specialist " but in her eyes Im good.Im NOT.Sibo positive, IBS, Chronic Fatigue just to name a few and its all related to what I like to call a ghost disease ( celiac) since doctors don't seem to take it seriously.

@Martha Mitchell, your reaction to the lens implant with gluten sounds like it could be an allergic reaction rather than a celiac reaction. It is possible for a celiac to be also allergic to gluten as it is a protein component in wheat, barley and rye.

Scott I also have different symptoms than most people. It affects me bad. Stomach ache, headache, nauseous, heart racing, whole body shaking, can't walk then my throat starts to close. It attacks my nervous system. The only thing that saves me is a 1/2 of Xanax...it calms down my nervous system

Scott Adams. I was dealing with a DR that didn't care about me being celiac. I repeatedly told him that I was celiac and is everything gluten-free. He put an acrylic lens from j&j. I called the company to ask about gluten and was told yes that the acrylic they use has gluten....then they back tracked immediately and stopped talking to me. The Dr didn't care that I was having issues. It took me 6 months and a lot of sickness to get it removed.... which can only happen within 6 months. The Dr that took it out said that it was fused and that's why I lost vision. If they would have removed it right away everything would be fine. He put in a silicone one that was gluten-free and I've had no issues at all in the other eye. Do not do acrylic!
