Gah! Psilly Psinging.. . .... . ..can we manage both simultaneously?

I agree that many o' those blokes over on the song thread have great psilly potential. . . . .think we need to initiate an active recruitment program post haste. In the dying pages of my reign, I will take care of it. . . . .. B)

I KNOW!!  I was just thinking about whether or not our Oracle would be up to giving us an updated Monarchical Rundown.....and THERE IT IS!

Gnick as Official Clipboard Marshall B)

I agree that they need to join our psilly thread. That might be the reason for a lack of posts. The other thread is addictive.

Turning in my paper today. The instructions are: analyze one of the following papers - and it's worth 30% of our grade. I have no idea if I did what he wanted or not.

Only taking one class during summer (maybe) and it's a programming lab with no homework/tests/etc. And only two credits. I am soooo excited about having the summer off (well, except for the intensive stat modules at the end of June). Gonna clean up two years worth of overgrowth around the house. :D

Good luck (though I know you won't need it). Clark's working on his application to Grad School this week.

Hi LO!

Tell Tony that Mama Karen is so happy with him! Cooking & doing laundry! He is just like my boys. They are happy to have someone do it for them but can do it if we can't.

Loey Rising Star

hmmm....well....you will want to read up on yetis, and Chuck Norris. Maybe something about Burundi. And don't be afraid of Em, she only uses that penis sling to frighten, she's really quite harmless.

This thread is always leaving me with a smile on my face and sometimes a stomach ache from laughing so hard. The only time I read hundreds of posts was when I was trying to read about the courtship of Jess & BE. That took me three days but was worth it. I'm a romantic at heart.

Welcome to our very psilly thread!

Loey

P.S. My DH is referred to as Clark because I'm Lois Lane but his real name is Rob. II guess Pfizer is like Lex Luther.

Something psilly? hmmm...about the only thing psilly about me is I am part tow-head. First to know what that means gets a gluten-free cookie. :D

You have blond hair!

You have blond hair!

Loey

Why, yes, yes I do. Only part however. I have a big white splotch of white-blonde at the top of my head and the rest of my head is dirty-blonde/light brown. All natural coloring. Hair stylist have told me that people pay big money to have that type of streaking put in their hair.

Karen - he is a totally different person this year. I don't know if the cancer is playing into it. But I also think he's adjusted to life up here. He goes to Martial Arts School in Providence 3 days a week and he seems to like the people at the restaurant. He skypes his friends. He also has a single next year so no more Don Juan masturbator as a roommate. He finally blew his stack at the end of the year when his roommate had a girl in . Flipped the light on and screamed WTF are you doing?????? GO TONY!!!! Now I don't think I would have put up with it for so long.

Thanks for the welcome. This board always makes me laugh. Been wondering about this thread for a while, but haven't had time to read it. So I guess I won't read. I'll write instead.

HEY!! I'VE REELED ONE IN!! How positively Monarchical of me... . . .B) Welcome, Manna! Superb entrance. . .....

. . ..And this one is not only pfunny, but has spectacular hair - - Manna, we need to see this in a new av pic!

Um, and it is true....the penis sling is all for show - - and I would NEVER consider using it on a newbie.. . . . ..

I am soooo excited about having the summer off (well, except for the intensive stat modules at the end of June). Gonna clean up two years worth of overgrowth around the house. :D

Annnnnnnnnd devote more time to personal BE lawn care, we all hope.. . . . ....

Hmmmmm...any newbies are gonna have some trouble now and then figuring out what in hell we're talking about - - that last sentence will be problematic for those who haven't been around for a few hundred pages. Ah, just grip fast and plow through -- it will all begin to make sense eventually, and you'll be ensconced. B)

Incidentally, this guy  is my favorite emoticon. He looks like DD in her full goalie gear - - that is exactly her facial expression, peering out from her mask, as four big wingers and defencemen come flying at her with the puck. . . ..

I'll have to work on that, but I'm quite camera shy. Don't want anyone to know my true identity.

I just want to point out that GFM is highly allergic to mushrooms. I think that means that when both GFM and Mushroom are posting, there needs to be at least one nuetral post in between . . . and somebody needs to wipe down/sanitize the board after mushroom has been posting.

Um, there used to be a member on here with the name "Peanut". . .. . . . . . . can't remember seeing this person's posts in some time, but he/she may also cause this type of problem. Except for that last bit about having to put the bears down, that was a very funny story. She looks like alot of fun, too. Maybe she could come on the psilly forum & comment.

 <---Is this guy Chuck Norris? He is a bit like a ninja, no?

Chuck Norris trained and was friends with Bruce Lee. They were in some movies together. We're big Bruce Lee fans. There are also many psilly books about Chuck like "Chuck Norris Did..." things that were ridiculous and to my knowledge he didn't do . My son had a standing Chuck Norris joke thing going on with his High School French Teacher for 3 years. They always gave each other a phunny Chuck Norris Christmas present. ph34r.gifph34r.gif

You can also bring up anything here. I've adopted it as my family thread. A thread I automatically come to every day to start it off with a smile.

GFM and my son have something in common. He swells up like a ballon if he eats a mushroom but he hates almost all vegetables and is allergic to most fruit ( so its nothing against you dear Shroomie).

Hugs,

Loey

It seems like you have two choices--do a proper gluten challenge and get re-tested, or just go gluten-free because you already know that it is gluten that is causing your symptoms. In order to screen someone for celiac disease they need to be eating gluten daily, a lot of it--they usually recommend at least 2 slices of wheat bread daily for 6-8 weeks before a blood screening, and at least 2 weeks before an endoscopy (a colonoscopy is no used to diagnose celiac disease). Normally the blood panel is your first step, and if you have ANY positive results there for celiac disease the next step would be to take biopsies of your villi via an endoscopy given by a gastroenterologist.  More info on the blood tests and the gluten challenge beforehand is below: The article includes the "Mayo Clinic Protocol," which is the best overall protocol for results to be ~98% accurate. Here is more info about how to do a gluten challenge for a celiac disease blood panel, or for an endoscopy: and this recent study recommends 4-6 slices of wheat bread per day:   Not to discourage you from a formal diagnosis, but once you are diagnosed it may lead to higher life and medical insurance rates (things will be changing quickly in the USA with the ACA starting in 2026), as well as the need to disclose it on job applications. While I do think it's best to know for sure--especially because all of your first degree relatives should also get screened for it--I also want to disclose some negative possibilities around a formal diagnosis that you may want to also consider.

Yes.  Now, if you hit your finger with a hammer once, wouldn't you do your best not to do it again?  You have identified a direct connection between gluten and pain.  Gluten is your hammer.  Now you have to decide if you need a medical diagnosis.  Some countries have aid benefits tgat you can get if you have the diagnosis, but you must continue eating a gluten-normal diet while pursuing the diagnosis. Otherwise the only reason to continue eating gluten is social. There are over 200 symptoms that could be a result of celiac disease.. Celiac Disease and Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity  both cause multiple vitamin and mineral deficiency.  Dealing with that should help your recovery, even while eating gluten.  Phosphatidyl Choline supplements can help your gut if digesting fats is a problem,  Consider that any medications you take could be causing some of the symptoms, aside from gluten.

Welcome to the forum, @Ben98! If you have been consciously or unconsciously avoiding gluten because of the discomfort it produces then it is likely that your blood antibody testing for celiac disease has been rendered invalid. Valid testing requires regular consumption of generous amounts of gluten. The other strong possibility is that you have NCGS (Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity) which shares many of the same symptoms with celiac disease but does not have the autoimmune component and thus does not damage the small bowel lining. It is 10x mor common than celiac disease. There is currently no test for NCGS. Celiac disease must first be ruled out. Some experts in the field believe it can be a precursor to the development of celiac disease. Having one or both of the primary genes for developing celiac disease does not imply that you will develop active celiac disease. It simply establishes the potential for it. About 40% of the population has the genetic potential but only about 1% develop active celiac disease.

TTG blood test and total IGA tested on many occasions which have always remained normal, upper GI pain under my ribs since 2022. I had an endoscopy in 2023 which showed moderate gastritis. no biopsy’s were taken unfortunately. genetic test was positive for HLADQ2. extreme bloating after eating gluten, it’ll feel like I’ve got bricks in my stomach so uncomfortably full. the pain is like a dull ache under the upper left almost like a stitch feeling after a long walk. I am just wanting some advice has anyone here experienced gastritis with a gluten issue before? thank you

"Conclusions: The urinary iodine level was significantly lower in women with postmenopausal osteoporosis, and iodine replacement may be important in preventing osteoporosis"  Body iodine status in women with postmenopausal osteoporosis Low iodine can cause thyroid problems, but Iodine deficiency will not show up in thyroid tests.  Iodine is important for healing, its job is to kill off defective and aging cells (Apoptosis). Skin, brain fog, nails, muscle tone all inproved when I started taking 600 mcg (RDA 150 - 1000 mcg) of Liquid Iodine drops. Some with dermatitis herpetiformis, Iodine exacerbates the rash.  I started at 1 drop (50 mcg) and worked up to 12 drops, but I don't have dermatitis herpetiformis.
