I've had a good laugh with your discussion about the Damned Dalton's penal problem. Do you think he should be put in a penal colony to get his dogs in line

Now as the drool list of humans that don't include the hubby

George Eads

Paul Gross

Mark Harmon

The edible list includes

Turtles

gluten free shortbread

freshly bake gluten free chocolate chip cookies. The only problem with these cookies is they disappear to quickly. Especially when part of the batch is taken to the store and your 17 yr old employee eats them all.

Yay MICHELLE!!!!!!!

8 dogs vs 10 makes for a tough pass.

Just one more Michelle thing, then I promise I'm done till next year (and I am certain she'll be in it again....so we must all be assembled here in February '09!)......

The finish line as Michelle crossed....tears brimming over as I watched.... :):)

Unlike Pekoe's teabag accompanied burial, we decided not to include any tomato soup along with Eliot when he died but we did have a nice lunch after the burial that included tomato soup to celebrate his life!

...And I do hope you read some T.S.!

Let us go, then, you and I,

When the evening is spread out against the sky......

Yes....where is Jin? She promised she was coming back, after carefully reviewing and summarizing the 400 pages she had missed.....

And....WHERE IS OUR QUEEN? Hope all is well in Sarah's palace.....

GAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The penile jokes are killing me!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well you raise a very good point, Nikki.....this could go either way, depending on the circumstances.

For instance: Someone not comfortable with their sexuality could be in serious pee-nigh-all; whereas Mr. Dalton, by not using a sling, caused his dogs pen-e-al frostbite.

Pee-nigh-all/pen-e-al......perphect dephinition Patti!!!!

Tis a "banana hammock"

EW!!! .......also note the use of the word European.

Technically Brits are part of the European Union but we are British..NEVER European.......and NO English man would wear a ''Banana Hammock....EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tom!.....don't worry about the rambling,....we are used to it ;)

Alex!!!!!! Love the cute av (& cat) :D

....and I see Jaquie has well and truly been sucked into the silly vortex!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (no escape now)

OMgosh I love Paul Gross!!!! Very drool-worthy :D

Due South was one of my very favorite shows, I wish it had stayed on air forever and ever.

WHAT?!?!?! You mean Jude and Hugh would never wear, let alone own, banana hammocks? How will Jude store his Nuggets?

The geographic stereotypes were just rude, I mean you can find a man walking on a beach or at a pool in any town wearing one....with the exception of Britain of course

Don't you DARE deny us sled-dog situational dispatches!!!!!!!!

And we DEMAND an av of you guiding the training sled (wheels for summer) during your visit!!!!

Hmmm if 3hrs sunlight is accurate for winter, summer's reciprocal peak will be 21 hrs of daylight.

Try sleepin' in THAT!!!

(Believe me .. . ..it aint easy)

If you were to find a man wearing one on English soil he would have to be a foreigner

Ptaum, where did you say Murphy's Ridge is? I always think about it when talking about a trip up north. Maybe I could....tread there....

I think it would be neat to see. :)

Yes it was most definitely a T.S. inspired wake, which is actually a very good cat funeral theme even when your cat's name doesn't happen to be T.S. Eliot. My grandpa instructed both Colin and I to each pick our favoUrite poem from's T.S.'s Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats to read at the burial. At the time I had no idea that the musical Cat's was based on T.S.'s work. Just one of the many times my grandpa was instrumental in my edification. I'm only now beginning to realize how thankful I am for all of the "crazy" things he wanted us to learn about and more importantly appreciate.

:)

Murphy Ridge overlooks Independence Mine in Hatcher Pass State Park, which is 1.5-2 hrs north of Anchorage.

You're a doll to think about such things.

It might be a little out of the way. :understatement face:

Can't remember that Yukon town's name that starts w/ T, but Whitehorse to Anchor (as the locals call it) is 1167km.

The rules say Murphy Ridge can't be on official state maps or USGS quads for 5 yrs, but I hear that folks are using the name. :) god I miss him .. . . .. .

Wow, this would be quite an excursion from Whitehorse, and perhaps a trick to find...but I am known to be crazily tenacious, so I've taken down your particulars and I will speak with BIL, who is a true northerner and travels regularly up to the Arctic Circle and throughout Alaska. He'll help me, I am sure, to find Murphy Ridge. :) We would likely head up to Dawson City for a few days...this gets me a little closer.

I've got a fair amount of time to think about this project.

Wouldn't it be exciting and wonderful if I could walk along Murphy Ridge?! :)

Oh you're both such dears. Thank you.

I was crying a little then decided to pop out & see my fav female blues duo, Lara & Laura. (John's in Dallas & Tony can't make it & I didn't bother trying anyone else so it's just me, again)

Laura plays guitar so effortlessly w/ great style & Lara's a masterful vocalist.

Their full band site is laraprice.com

TMI huh .. ..they're on break.

I never used to understand the term "a good cry" and now all y'all got me all womaned up.

Any tennis fans? I'm sitting a block away from an ATP event. Sampras played an exhibition vs Blake Monday & whupped 'im.

Hmm, no we don't currently sell penis slings in the store. :o

So, the dogs are trained to let it rip while running. Fine, I suppose, for the lead dog. But what does this mean for the next dog behind?

We don't have many sled dogs come calling as customers here in Toronto. Mind you, with the current condition of the sidewalks near our store, it could work. I wonder if Michelle could spare a couple of dogs and a sled.

I watched the video of Michelle's finish. Thanks for posting that link. :)

:) oh Em it sure would.

The Ridge is a ways up. I don't think many ascend it. Pretty bloody shear. It's not the highest peak in the Talkeetnas or in the park or prob w/in view. It IS overlooking park HQ and the old mine buildings.

Not that it wouldn't be both exciting and wonderful if you got there, but I'm sure there're .....oh. . . .approaching a zillion worthwhile excursions betw Dawson City & Hatcher Pass.

Hatcher's very popular w/ the Anchorites, as it's far easier to get above the timberline there than in the far closer Chugach mountains. But it's not exactly an international destination spot. ;)

If yer goin' to Hatcher I might meetcha there tho. :o:)

(Can't help but feel like I should apologize for straying from the silly tonight. But it's been said we shouldn't do that. So I won't :P )

Morning, All!

Hey, Amanda!! We have another early riser with us now! Good morning, JacquIe!

Any tennis fans? I'm sitting a block away from an ATP event. Sampras played an exhibition vs Blake Monday & whupped 'im.

Oh, yeah! I've followed the women over the last few years. The rallies seem to be much longer and more exciting, somehow...

...And I miss McEnroe's screaming....

So, the dogs are trained to let it rip while running. Fine, I suppose, for the lead dog. But what does this mean for the next dog behind?

This is a great point. The dogs must draw straws for who has to pull behind ol' Sheba with the incontinence....

I watched the video of Michelle's finish. Thanks for posting that link. :)

It was great. But did you see the feed of Damned Dalton as he crossed? A very unlikeable, icky man...had nothing to say for the interviewer, and when he finally spoke it was to repond to a question about travelling with Michelle. He reported that Michelle insisted on leaving Carmacks before him, as she was ready and did not want to wait for him. This was said with a smirk. Because, of course, we know who beat whom. Damn that Dalton.....

OK, so you're disqualifying Beckham, eh? Well, let's see who else I can dig up. . . <off to google "Churchill in a speedo">

OMG.....Something up with which there'd be no WAY he'd be puttin'!.....

Good Morning Sillies!

Woke up to a snow-covered world. I am at work, hopefully not for the entire day. I brought a veggie tray in to celebrate our snow day. And its Friday too.

Another quiet morning in Sillyville. Maybe everybody is just dog tired from all the excitement this week.

No silliness to report here yet today.

Hello, I just wanted to share with the frustration of skin issues and seeing dermatologist and medications not working for years, I did my own healing experiment. As of last week I have been taking a drop internally under the tongue of Vetiver and putting on topically on sores Yellow/Pom.I am seeing a extreme difference at a rapid time.Im also noticing my nails a little harder. Ive always been into natural properties because I feel its safer for the body.I know short time, but really seeing a difference. I also feel the the trapped gases that causes bloating helps break down as well.Curious if any body else can benefit from and has tried. Products is made by Doterra by Dr Hill

We have a category of articles on this topic if you really want to dive into it: https://www.celiac.com/celiac-disease/miscellaneous-information-on-celiac-disease/gluten-free-diet-celiac-disease-amp-codex-alimentarius-wheat-starch/

I agree with @trents, and the rash you described, especially its location and resistance to steroids, sounds highly characteristic of dermatitis herpetiformis, which is the skin manifestation of celiac disease. The severe and prolonged reaction you're describing five days after a small exposure is, while extreme, not unheard of for those with a high sensitivity; the systemic inflammatory response can absolutely last for several days or even weeks, explaining why you still don't feel right. Your plan to avoid a formal gluten challenge is completely understandable given the severity of your reactions, and many choose the same path for their well-being. While experiences with GliadinX (they are a sponsor here) are mixed, some people do report a reduction in the severity of their symptoms when taken with accidental gluten, though it is crucial to remember it is not a cure or a license to eat gluten and its effectiveness can vary from person to person. For now, the absolute best advice is to continue being hyper-vigilant about cross-contamination—buffets are notoriously high-risk, even with good intentions. Connecting with a gastroenterologist and a dermatologist who specialize in celiac disease is essential for navigating diagnosis and management moving forward. Wishing you a swift recovery from this last exposure. If you have DH you will likely also want to avoid iodine, which is common in seafoods and dairy products, as it can exacerbate symptoms in some people. This article may also be helpful as it offers various ways to relieve the itch:

So just to be cautious, there is a big difference between cured, and responding to their medication. I assume you mean that your daughter responded well while taking KAN-101 during the trial, but the drug would not cure celiac disease, but may manage it while you are taking it. Let me know if I got this right.

Welcome to the forum, @Godfather! "Gluten-free" is not the same as zero gluten. The FDA standard for allowing the food industry to us the gluten-free label on a product is that it cannot exceed 20 ppm of gluten. That is safe for most celiacs but not for the subset of celiacs/gltuen sensitive people who are super sensitive. "Gluten-free" wheat starch products have been processed in such a way to remove enough of the protein gluten to comply with the FDA regulation but usually do retain some gluten and we usually get reports from some people on this forum who fall in the more sensitive range that such products cause them to react. Hope this helps. So, you may just have to experiment for yourself.
