thanks. was about to ask that VERY question....how about store brand honey glazed hams? my MIL bought a Publix Deli Honey Glazed Ham (with packet) she said, and couldn't find any info on gluten free or not.....i haven't read the label on it...just know she reiterated that its all natural; my reply; so is wheat, barley, rye etc.....

I contacted HoneyBaked Hams and they said that they would be happy to make a ham for me with no glaze on it and then it would be fine. They also said that the turkeys are okay too. Just an FYI.

Heavenly Ham said the same thing.

Its nice that HBH and HH are catering to us.

FYI, I seem to remember someone getting a ham from HBH last year that was supposedly gluten-free, but they still had some serious cross contamination issues.

I make my own with Hormel Cure 81 hams, brown sugar and honey...

Most commercial glaze packets have wheat, tho not all. Read the ingredients.

I didn't think their sliced turkey breast were ok. I thought the whole turkeys they make are ok, but not the normal sliced ones. I just looked it up on their website and in the nutritional info it says contains wheat under the ham, sliced turkey breast and ribs. It doesn't have any allergens listed under the whole turkeys.

Sam's Club has a honey-baked, spiral cut ham that is clearly labeled gluten free. I made one for Thanksgiving (I react to poultry, even organic) and it was great. The glaze packet is also labeled gluten free, but I didn't use it.

Wegman's (Oh, how I miss them!) also has a gluten-free honey-glazed, spiral cut ham.

Actually, it is starting to look like the wheat is disappearing from more of those glaze packets.

that's good. although we've been glaze free for so long that hubby is uninterested in using gluten-free glaze, he's so used to the plain taste that the glaze tastes weird.

Does anyone know about the ham from Costco? I think it is Kirkland brand. I was thinking about making one for Christmas, but I would like to make sure it is gluten free.

lovegrov Collaborator

As with any ham, all you need do is read the ingredients on the Costco ham. If there's gluten it will be from wheat and MUST be listed.

I was a long-time HoneyBaked fan and always thought it was easier than making my own. Then I tried a Hormel Cure 81 ham in an oven bag with a brown sugar and mustard glaze that was sooo easy and it was delicious! :D

Wonderful! I am trying to plan my Christmas day dinner, and my husband wants HB ham. I think I'll try Sam instead this year. Thanks for posting this!

I just spoke to organic's and the meat manager. The manager confirmed that their spiral ham is infact gluten-free.

So I've been dealing with chasing the name celiac because of my body actively dealing with health issues related to celiac though not eating. Diagnosed in 1994 before foods eliminated from diet. After 25 years with former pcp I googled celiac specialist and she wasn't because of what ive been through. I wanted my results to be sent to my pcp but nothing was sent.I have email copies.I did one zoom call with np with team member from celiac specialist in Nov 2025 and she asked me why I wanted to know why I wanted the celiac diagnosis so bad, I sad I don't, its my life and I need revalidaion because its affecting me.KB stated well it shows you are.I asked then why am I going through all this.I was labeled unruly. Its been a celiac circus and medical has caused anxiety and depression no fault to my own other than being born with bad genetics. How is it legal for medical professionals to gaslight patients that are with an ailment coming for help to be downplayed? KB put in my records that she personally spent 120min with me and I think the zoom call was discussing celiac 80 min ONE ZOOM call.SHE is responsible for not explaining to my pcp about celiac disease am I right?

I've noticed with my age and menopause my smell for bread gives me severe migraines and I know this. Its alarming that there are all these fabulous bakeries, sandwich places pizza places popping up in confined areas.Just the other day I suffered a migraine after I got done with my mri when a guy with a brown paper bag walk in front of me and I smelled that fresh dough bread with tuna, I got a migraine when we got home.I hate im that sensitive. Its alarming these places are popping up in airports as well.I just saw on the news that the airport ( can't remember which  one)was going to have a fabulous smelling bakery. Not for sensitive celiacs, this can alter their health during their travel which isn't safe. More awareness really NEEDS to be promoted, so much more than just a food consumption!FYI I did write to Stanislaus to let them know my thoughts on the medical field not knowing much about celiac and how it affects one.I also did message my gi the 3 specialist names that was given on previous post on questions on celiac. I pray its not on deaf door.
