ICWendy Newbie

Hi to everyone,

My name is Wendy and I am new to this forum, and not very computer literate. I just wanted to introduce myself, and to say I hope I am doing this right.

I have multiple food allergies, but especially gluten and dairy, and a disease that effects the bladder. It is called interstitial cystitis, or IC. I am particularly wondering if any celiacs or wheat-allergic folks have bladder issues, as I think there is a link.

Anyone have any thoughts on the subject, or is there a better forum to communicate this topic?

Wendy in Portland, Oregon

Hey Wendy:

Welcome to the forum. You will find a vast amount of information here.

I do not have blatter issues, but you may try to do a search here on the forum. Find the search area and type in blatter issues. Perhaps you can find some old posts, with the information your requested.

Just want to let you know that sometimes on the weekend, the site is quiet. Mondays get active.

Glad you have found us.

Hi Wendy and welcome :)

I don't have any firsthand knowledge of IC or bladder problems, but I found a thread that you might find interesting--

Hope that helps a little.

Hi Wendy

I too have bladder problems. the drs didnt give me a final diagnosis of IC but they think it might be it. i had a cystoscopy and bladder stretching procedure because i was having a lot of burning when i peed and peeing a lot. apparently my bladder was half the size of a normal person. it sort of felt like i often had a uniary tract infection but didnt. the procedure was painful but i was better after for like 6 months. lately i have having the buring again sometimes......have you had any bladder procedures done?

Wendy,

Happy to have you here!! This board is such a great place, and you'll almost always find someone in a similar boat, for better or for worse ;)

Ask away...we are here to help! And read, read, read. A good way to keep up on recent posts is to click on "view new posts" near the top....that can give you an overview of current topics. Or, click on the different "areas" (coping with, recipes, pre diagnosis, etc.) and you can see all the topics in each area.

hope this helps a bit...let us know what else we can do!

I use the "view new posts" button at the top then I click on "Mark all posts read" when I'm done.

Good luck!

I'm brand new here too and I find it pretty confusing! You an I are quite alike, because I too have multiple food allergies (not JUST gluten...which makes eating quite depressing...) and I have bladder problems! Aren't bladder problems quite annoying at night? haha...well anyways....hopefully we'll both figure out the site soon.

Thank you that’s really helpful, hopeful won’t have to have a biopsy.

That means the normal range (i.e. not celiac disease) would be a result less than 14.99.  Your result is WAY above that. Some gastroenterologists would diagnose that as celiac disease even without a confirming biopsy because it is more than ten times the top of the normal range.

Hi everyone. Back in 2022 I had blood work drawn for iga ext gliadin. Since then I’ve developed worse stomach issues and all other health issues. My doctor just said cut out gluten. He did no further testing. Please see my test results attached. I just need some direction cause I feel so ill and the stomach pain is becoming worse. Can this test show indications for other gastrointestinal diseases?

Thank you. These were the results TTG ABS NUMERICAL: > 250.0 U/mL [< 14.99]  Really don’t understand the results!

Clearly from what you've said the info on Dailymed is much more up to date than the other site, which hasn't been updated since 2017. The fact that some companies might be repackaging drugs does not mean the info on the ingredients is not correct.
