yeah i am curious here...all Fs and Vs? are you eating canned or packaged ones or fresh ones? you may have other allergies i guess. i cannot provide any other info sorry

I knew someone once who had Raynaud's syndrome, I think it was called. Her fingers and toes would turn cold and blue sometimes due to constriction of the blood vessles. I don't think it was associated with eating fruits and vegetables though. I think getting too cold sometimes triggered the episodes her. I know this sounds weird but could you possibly be reaching into a cold freezer/fridge before you eat the fruit/vegetables and maybe that and not actually eating those foods is causing the symptoms.

I have no idea. It sounds very strange. I just thought that I wiould mention that my friend with Raynaud's had similar symptoms.

Dear sickchick,

Have you been on a lot of antibiotics, hormones, or steroids? You may have a yeast overgrowth. I have a bad one. Carbohydrates can make symptoms worse due to the yeast being fed by them. Do you have a white tongue a lot? How about strange rashes that pop up and then disappear out of nowhere? Raynaud's is something I have as well.

Alex that was my first thought also, that syndrome fits her description to a T. But it is something that should be noticed at other times also. My and my DS's Raynauds and livedo reticularis resolved after a few months gluten-free.

Sickchick, you should have an evaluation and testing done by an allergist. Although having said that if you have not been gluten-free very long these effects could be from accidental gluten injested a day or two before you ate the fruit. If you haven't the time or inclination to go to an actual allergist you could try adding in your fruits one at a time in pure form daily for a week starting after you have cleared all the gluten from your diet and life and after your gluten symptoms have resolved.

Oh, actually I do have Systemic Candida. I wonder if it is Raynaud's. I have never heard of that I am going to look it up! B)

thx everybody I was just curious if it had anything to do with Celiac :)

Dear sickchick,

My bet is on the yeast! I have Raynaud's as well! The Candida is really tough to deal with, and causes all kinds of odd symtoms. Many people actually get freaked out when they see my hands. It really scares them that my fingers and hands turn blue. Raynaud's is primarily a circulation problem, and Candida, Celiac, and mercury poisoning all can cause it.

      I hope you are on the mend soon. About 1 in 5 people who contracted chicken pox as a child go on to develop shingles in later life - it is not uncommon. There are 5 known members of the herpes virus family including chicken pox that commonly infect humans, and they all cause lifelong infections. The exact cause of viral reactivation as in the case of shingles or cold sores is not well understood, but stress, sunburn and radiotherapy treatment are known triggers. Some of the herpes viruses are implicated in triggering autoimmune diseases: Epstein-Barr virus is suspected of triggering multiple sclerosis and lupus, and there is a case where it is suspected of triggering coeliac disease. As to whether coeliac disease can increase the likelihood of viral reactivation, there have been several cohort studies including a large one in Sweden suggesting that coeliac disease is associated with a moderate increase in the likelihood of developing shingles in people over the age of 50.       BFree bread is fortified with vitamins and minerals as is ASDA own-brand gluten-free bread. All the M&S bread seems to be fortified also.

      You might try Heallix.  It's a silver solution with fulvic acid. I just put the solution on with a cotton ball.  It seemed to stop the nerve pain. Again,  not in your eyes or ears.   Go to heallix.com to read more about it and decide for yourself Also,  I do think nerve and celiac combined have a lot to do with your susceptibility to shingles breaking out.

      Celiac disease requires both genetic potential and a triggering stress event to activate the genes. Otherwise it remains dormant and only a potential problem. So having the genetic potential is not deterministic for celiac disease. Many more people have the genes than actually develop the disease. But if you don't have the genes, the symptoms are likely being caused by something else.

      Yes, i pulled raw ancetry data and saw i have 2/3 markers for DQ2.2 but have heard from friends in genetics that this raw data can be wildly innacurate
