This is emabarrassing to admit but...oh well...

Does anyone else think the banner at the bottom for Mary's Gone Crackers looks like an ad for mineral foundation?

Don't quote me on that. Must be able to delete it later.:lol:

Mango!!!

Okay, I'm wondering where my order is?!! How do you find out where it is? It says it shipped on the EM website, but I don't know how to find out *where* it is! Ugh...help! ;)

Green12 Enthusiast

Mango,

OMG, are we separated at birth?!?!?!

I always have the same thought. Everytime I see that banner I think, hmm those look like little tubs of EM....and then I am reminded they are crackers!!!!

Kass,

What shipping did you choose? Go to that website (i.e. if it's USPS, go to USPS tracking), and plug in your tracking number for this order, found in your EM account.

I did DHL because it was the cheapest. I went to their site but it said, there was no match found.:wacko:

:lol: phew...I thought you guys were going to agree with me or think I was crazy. Maybe we are all crazy! LOL

(actually though, it really does look like little tubs of EM :lol: )

Would these ingredients be paraben free? This is the mascara I have in my cart at Monave, would love to hear input on the ingredients. It is gluten free.

Natural Mascara: purified water, Vegetable glycerin, beeswax, copernicia cerifera (carnauba) wax, vegetable glyceryl stearate, lecithin, vegetable stearic acid, safflower oil, glycine soja (soybean) oil (and) aloe barbadensis leaf extract, simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) seed oil, silica, cellulose gum, tocopherol, xanthan gum, chamomilla recutita (matricaria) flower extract, rosemary) leaf extract, cucumis sativus (cucumber) fruit extract, phenoxyethanol. May contain: mica, titanium dioxide (CI 77891), iron oxides (CI 77491, 77492, 77480).

Thanks Joni for this suggestion too. This is a lot of ingredients though, for someone like me who is chemical sensitive I have a feeling I would react to it :(

AND hopefully (!) they will find a hidden stash of hundreds of long handled kabukis they didn't previously know they had! LOL

I've decided to do something wild and crazy and order the peach lip gloss...

Uh oh, Donna's getting wild and crazy

Peach lip gloss, oh my!

Oh nooooooo. That is the second time I've heard such things about ginger peach.

Ginger Peach is a gorgeous color, I LOVE it!!!

Is it orange? Or is it more golden? I am so very curious now. I have never been even a little intriguied by this shade but now I think I must buy it! :D

For me the site didn't update until late in the evening on the day the order was shipped. Hopefully it will show up for you tonight.

Thanks Joni for this suggestion too. This is a lot of ingredients though, for someone like me who is chemical sensitive I have a feeling I would react to it :(

Your welcome. Sorry it doesn't look like it will work for you.

I LOVE GINGER PEACH TOO! It is a pale peach color with a tint of pale pink and a bit of sparkle! No orange at all, but the sparkle makes it have a slight golden hue.

Joni, you describe Ginger Peach well :)

Mango, you really must try it!

OK, I have what? 9 more days to decide if I should place my order on this special???

dragging my heels.....

I think I'm holding out for Donna's, and others, review of the freebie samples of the new products.

Okay, am I a total freak because I had DHL send my text messages about where my make-up is?!

It's in Waco (wacko) Texas! Ugh, they say it will be here on the 8th. I hope they're wrong.

Not so crazy for a cult member, Colleen did the same thing

If it's Texas it hasn't gotten very far, EM ships out of Texas.

Okay, am I a total freak because I had DHL send my text messages about where my make-up is?!

No, absolutely not! I've considered doing the same many times.

Argg...so now I'm i the "rearranging of the cart" mode, which is getting complicated.

I think I need a spreadsheet. :o

I was going to order the full-sized custom kit, but as I add more things (such as ginger peach lol), I'm starting to wonder if it wouldn't just make more sense to get the I Can't Believe It Kit. However...that one requires you to get three blushes and one concealer. I was hoping for two concealers and two blushes. :P Hmph....what to do...what to do?

Also, does anybody own a full-sized foundation? I wonder how long one would last? I literally need a year's supply worth of foundation in my next order :o Should I get three?

NO! You just doing what any respectable cult member would do. ;)

I'm having trouble selecting blushes this time around. I have so many I want to try.

Heres my current lineup: Any input on the blushes for medium skin would be great!

Mini Eyeshadow Kit:

Medium Brown Brow Color (Small)

Chamomile (Small)

Comfy (Small)

Well Being (Small)

Floating Feathers (Small)

Shopping Spree (Small)

Starry Eyed (Small)

In the Garden (Small)

Scented Candles (Small)

Net Surfing (Small)

Personal Custom Mini:

Jump Rope (blush)

Theme Park (blush)

Best Friends (blush)

Sunlight Corrector (concealer)

Natural Reflections Medium Bronzer

Medium Beige Neutral (foundation)

I also have:

Weekend Getaway

Back to School

Email Me

I don't really want to order these a la carte. If anyone can give me input on any of the blushes I would love to hear about them.

Oranges are definately out for me, but peaches, pinks and browns (light) work well. I could always just get 6 blushes in my Mini Kit, but that sounds kind of boring, lol!

dlp252 Apprentice

 I am in love with my order.

So, today I'm wearing the free gift Sunlight Finishing Dust as a primer all over my face and eyes. Very nice, I like this.

Used my usual Sunlight concealor on my dark circles and spots.

Then Golden-Light foundation. I guess the guy in the book knew what he was talking about cuz this looks dang good on me, lol. I might be ordering a full container of this one.

On my eyes...HOT CHOCOLATE...very good base color. It's a good neutral light color.

Then I put on GINGER PEACH  Love at first glitter! LOVE THIS. Very light peach!

Then I put on SAMBA LESSONS. Great eyeliner with a touch of sparkle!

Last, but not least Floating Feathers as a highlighter.

When I have more time to play (woke up LATE) I'll try this as a highlighter on other parts of my face, but for today just at the brow bone.

Cheeks: WAFFLE CONE   Very nice soft peachy color...now that I'm at work and have gone in to check myself out in the mirrors  I wish I had put more of it on.

I followed all that up with a little of my Natural Reflections finishing powder and some peachy shimmery lip gloss that I have.

I think I need a spreadsheet. :o

Also, does anybody own a full-sized foundation?

Not yet, but just by judging how long the tiny little samples last, I'm thinking the full sized container would last a while...from the pictures I've seen of the full sized foundations, they are huge. But, yeah, if it were me, I'd order 3 anyway. :P

Heres my current lineup: Any input on the blushes for medium skin would be great!

Jump Rope (blush)--haven't tried this one yet...it just came yesterday, so probably will try it within a day or two...looks really nice in the jar

Best Friends (blush)--same comment as for Jump Rope, lol

Weekend Getaway--this was the first blush I ordered and I liked it...it's a slightly darker peach, but it didn't turn orange on me--think I need to try this again (I have TOOOO many blushes  )

Green12 Enthusiast

Hey Mango, are you puree??

I literally need a year's supply worth of foundation in my next order

I knew it!!!!!! International Spy..... ;)

I don't know how big the full size foundations are, I thought you had them and would know  Were those big honkin containers in your pictures blushes or eye shadows?? I would assume they would be a similar size?

Joni, I know, blushes are so hard for me to choose too!

You have some great colors in your cart :D

The only blush I have that you list here is Best Friends, it is a very pretty color but it leans to the purple side, a rosey violet, lavender, definitely NOT ORANGE.

The Sunlight Finishing Dust sounds interesting.

And thanks for your Waffle Cone review, I really like your description of it. I'm going to keep it in my cart.

Jestgar Rising Star

I love using the darker blushes as eye shadow. you can put a lot on and it just deepens your eyes without looking like you're wearing eyeshadow.

Also tried a bit of oasis over my lip color. Nice gold finish.

Hey Mango, are you puree??

Well, I know what you people think when I put actual mangos up there. Puree seemed like a safer, more wholesome choice.

SO!...I think I get what you all were talking about now when we were comparing Natural Reflections to Natural etc etc etc :lol: (I'm kind of slow...sorry LOL).

There is a Natural Reflections BRONZER! Yay! I must try this! I never even noticed it, but it looks great! :D

I don't know how big the full size foundations are, I thought you had them and would know Were those big honkin containers in your pictures blushes or eye shadows?? I would assume they would be a similar size?

Suprisingly, I've only ever ordered one mini foundation. The big honkin ones in my pictures were (lifetime supplies of) blushes. I found an old BE foundation jar though. It has 9g of foundation. The EM jars give you 8g. So now I know the answer. LOL. I could get away with two, but I think I'll order three... :D

Joni! Blushes! I don't know! I'm confused about which blushes to order too... (but I'm definitely getting waffle cone).

Donna - your order sounds fantastic! Thanks for the very enthusiastic review/love fest  I'm excited to order now. :D

Yeah, I saw that on an EM thread too...not only would I have NOT thought about that but I'm not sure that now that it's been put in my brain, I'd WANT to put it on my face. :P

Completely unrelated....

I sent in a gushing email to EM. Basically saying I've felt like doodoo for 5 years and couldn't have cared less about my appearance and now I'm having so much fun with makeup and it doesn't cause reactions.

Hmmm, that just does not sound appealing or even remotely like something I would try, even for better skin. Yuk.

What are its properties, I mean what does it do?

:lol::lol:

It is truly remarkable when you find a perfect foundation match that makes your skin look good, better than good, flawless, and to be gluten-free and free of most other allergens on top of that.

Hi @Scatterbrain Thank you for your reply.   Some of these things could be weaknesses, also triggered by stress, which perhaps have come about as the result of long-term deficiencies which can take a long time to correct.   Some could be completely unrelated. If it is of help, I'll tell you some of the things that started in the first year or two, following my diagnosis - I pinned everything on coeliac disease, but it turns out I wasn't always right!  Dizziness, lightheaded - I was eventually diagnosed with cervical dizziness (worth googling, could be your issue too, also if you have neck pain?)  A few months after diagnosis I put my neck out slightly carrying my seven-year-old above my head, and never assigned any relevance to it as the pain at the time was severe but so short-lived that I'd forgotten the connection. Jaw pain - stress. Tinnitus - I think stress, but perhaps exacerbated by iron/vitamin deficiencies. Painful ribs and sacroiliac joints - no idea, bloating made the pain worse. It got really bad but then got better. Irregular heart rate - could be a coincidence but my sister (not a coeliac) and I both developed this temporarily after our second Astra Zeneca covid jabs.   Subsequent Pfizer jabs didn't affect us. Brain fog - a big thing for people with certain autoimmune issues but in my case I think possibly worse when my iron or B12 are low, but I have no proof of this. Insomnia - stress, menopause. So basically, it isn't always gluten.  It might be worth having your vitamins and mineral levels checked, and if you have deficiencies speak to your Dr about how better to address them?

@NanceK, I do have Hypersensitivity Type Four reaction to Sulfa drugs, a sulfa allergy.  Benfotiamine and other forms of Thiamine do not bother me at all.  There's sulfur in all kinds of Thiamine, yet our bodies must have it as an essential nutrient to make life sustaining enzymes.  The sulfur in thiamine is in a ring which does not trigger sulfa allergy like sulfites in a chain found in pharmaceuticals.  Doctors are not given sufficient education in nutrition (nor chemistry in this case).  I studied Nutrition before earning a degree in Microbiology.  I wanted to know what vitamins were doing inside the body.   Thiamine is safe and nontoxic even in high doses.   Not feeling well after starting Benfotiamine is normal.  It's called the "thiamine paradox" and is equivalent to an engine backfiring if it's not been cranked up for a while.  Mine went away in about three days.  I took a B Complex, magnesium and added molybdenum for a few weeks. It's important to add a B Complex with all eight essential B vitamins. Supplementing just one B vitamin can cause lows in some of the others and result in feeling worse, too.  Celiac Disease causes malabsorption of all the B vitamins, not just thiamine.  You need all eight.  Thiamine forms including Benfotiamine interact with each of the other B vitamins in some way.  It's important to add a magnesium glycinate or chelate supplement as well.  Forms of Thiamine including Benfotiamine need magnesium to make those life sustaining enzymes.  (Don't use magnesium oxide.  It's not absorbed well.  It pulls water into the intestines and is used to relieve constipation.)   Molybdenum is a trace mineral that helps the body utilize forms of Thiamine.   Molybdenum supplements are available over the counter.  It's not unusual to be low in molybdenum if low in thiamine.   I do hope you will add the necessary supplements and try Benfotiamine again. Science-y Explanation of Thiamine Paradox: https://hormonesmatter.com/paradoxical-reactions-with-ttfd-the-glutathione-connection/#google_vignette

Your goal is not to be a good puppet, there is no gain in that. You might want to restart the ones that helped.  It sounds more like you are suffering from malnutrition.  Gluten free foods are not fortified with things like Thiamine (B1), vitamin D, Iodine, B1,2,3,5,6 and 12 as non-gluten free products are required to be. There is a Catch-22 here.  Malnutrition can cause SIBO, and SIBO can worsen malnutrition. Another possibility is side effects from any medication that are taking.  I was on Metformin 3 months before it turned me into a zombi.  I had crippling side effects from most of the BP meds tried on me, and Losartan has many of the side effects on me from my pre gluten free days. Because you have been gluten free, you can test and talk until you are blue in the face but all of your tests will be negative.  Without gluten, you will not create the antigen against gluten, no antigens to gluten, so no small intestine damage from the antigens.  You will need to do a gluten challange to test positive if you need an official diagnosis, and even then, no guaranty: 10 g of gluten per day for 6 weeks! Then a full panel of Celiac tests and biopsy. At a minimum consider vitamin D, Liquid Iodine (unless you have dermatitis herpetiformis and iodine exasperates the rash), and Liquid Geritol. Push for vitamin D testing and a consult with a nutritionist experienced with Celiack Disease.  Most blood tests don't indicate nutritional deficiencies.  Your thyroid tests can be perfect, yet not indicate iodine deficiency for example.  Thiamine   test fine, but not pick up on beriberi.  Vegans are often B12 deficient because meat, fish, poultry, eggs, and dairy are the primary souces of B12. Here is what I take daily.  10,000 IU vitamin D3 750 mg g a b a [   ] 200 mg CoQ10 [   ] 100 mg DHEA [   ] 250 mg thiamine B1 [   ] 100 mg of B2 [   ] 500 mg B5 pantothenic acid [   ] 100 mg B6 [   ] 1000 micrograms B12 n [   ] 500 mg vitamin c [   ] 500 mg taurine [   ] 200 mg selenium

Hi…Just a note that if you have an allergy to sulfa it’s best not to take Benfotiamine. I bought a bottle and tried one without looking into it first and didn’t feel well.  I checked with my pharmacist and he said not to take it with a known sulfa allergy. I was really bummed because I thought it would help my energy level, but I was thankful I was given this info before taking more of it.
    • Wheatwacked
Hello @Scatterbrain, Are you getting enough vitamins and minerals.  Gluten free food is not fortified so you may be starting to run low on B vitamins and vitamin D.   By the way you should get your mom checked for celiac disease.  You got it from your mom or dad.  Some studies show that following a gluten-free diet can stabilize or improve symptoms of dementia.  I know that for the 63 years I was eating gluten I got dumber and dumber until I started GFD and vitamin replenishment and it began to reverse.  Thiamine can get used up in a week or two.  Symptoms can come and go with daily diet.  Symptoms of beriberi due to Thiamine deficiency.   Difficulty walking. Loss of feeling (sensation) in hands and feet. Loss of muscle function or paralysis of the lower legs. Mental confusion. Pain. Speech difficulties. Strange eye movements (nystagmus) Tingling. Any change in medications? Last March I had corotid artery surgery (90 % blockage), and I started taking Losartan for blood pressure, added to the Clonidine I was taking already.  I was not recovering well and many of my pre gluten free symptoms were back  I was getting worse.  At first I thought it was caused a reaction to the anesthesia from the surgery, but that should have improved after two weeks.  Doctor thought I was just being a wimp. After three months I talked to my doctor about a break from the Losartan to see if it was causing it. It had not made any difference in my bp.  Except for clonindine, all of the previous bp meds tried had not worked to lower bp and had crippling side effects. One, I could not stand up straight; one wobbly knees, another spayed feet.  Inguinal hernia from the Lisinopril cough.  Had I contiued on those, I was destined for a wheelchair or walker. She said the symptoms were not from Losartan so I continued taking it.  Two weeks later I did not have the strength in hips and thighs to get up from sitting on the floor (Help, I can't get up😨).  I stopped AMA (not recommended).  Without the Losartan, a) bp did not change, after the 72 hour withdrawal from Losartanon, on clonidine only and b) symptoms started going away.  Improvement started in 72 hours.  After six weeks they were gone and I am getting better.
