The descriptions on the old website were tedious, but they did help me pick the right foundations I think, lol. Now there's a new one I want to try! Yay, lol.

OMG, I LOVE the pearl concealors, lol. I'm going to be a shiney KERMIT!

Yes Julie, I think we must indeed be twins!!!! :)

OMGosh...I got to work today and saw that everyone was raving about the new site but couldn't get there! It was torture I tell you, lol!

I cannot wait to order!!!!! Just playing around the new site (cuz we can't order yet), I had about $40 worth of just new stuff in my cart, lol. I can not wait to actually hit the button!!

:lol::lol:

I just found the lip glosses, I wonder why they aren't in the make-up section?? That would be my only suggestion for the new site thus far, move the lip glosses to be with all the other make up.

I have my eye on Fresh Linen :D

Andrea, you might have a lot of luck and find your foundation shade first try, I pretty much did. The descriptions can be very helpful (i.e. how your skin is in the sun, tans doesn't tan, the color of your veins on the underside of your arm, what colors you look best in).

AndreaB Contributor

Ok girls, gals, ladies (whichever people prefer).......

I haven't worn makeup for so long......

When looking at the eyeshadows, what do you do about blending colors, multi colors on the lid. How does that work? Does everyone use two or more colors now or do some of you still use one?

dlp252 Apprentice

I LOVE having someone new to play with, lol!!!! Yay!

Generally, I use one shade of eyeshadow for most days. I pick a more neutral shade with just a little color and put that all over, then I'll use a darker shade for an eyeliner, a little mascara and I'm done.

Somedays I'll also add a second color on my lower lid...staying pretty close to the lashes.

Sometimes I'll carry that up at the corner into the crease area...kind of like a sideways V...I guess that would be > lol.

TODAY, I did something totally weird, lol. I put on Mistletoe, which is a nice sparkley green. The last time I used this I put it on over another lighter color and the time before that with a brush--both times it was subtle with just a hint of color. This time I put it on first with my finger. Um, GREEN!!!! So, I went over that with a lighter color. Then I had to add a dark eyeliner and lots of mascara.

Are the prices going up for everything? My daughter had gotten a lip gloss at a Princess Tea she went to last week and we wouldn't let her use it as we didn't know what was in it. We plan on ordering her some lip gloss from EM (although it looks more like lipstick.....my daughter is only 8 so we aren't going with makeup for her yet) to make up for not being able to use the other stuff she was given. I noticed on the old site they are $3.50 and the new site they are $4.00.

I haven't been wearing a lot of make-up in the last year and a half, but when I do wear it I generally use one eye color and then mascara. I tend to go for the au natural look, wearing makeup to look like you arne't wearing any makeup kind of thing

I like to use a neutral like Donna mentioned all over the lid and up to the brow bone. Ginger Peach is a lovely color that most all of us here in the thread love, even with all the different skin tones and colorings represented here.

Years ago when I wasn't as ill, I did multiple colors on the eyes, an all over base color, a lid color, a browbone color, 2 crease and a bove the lashline colors, 2 different eyeliners....THEN mascara!

It really depends on how much (or little) you want to wear, your features, the colors that look best on you, and your mood :P

I'd prefer the more natural look or light coloring. I liked the Ginger Peach too by the description.

Now to get my daughter to understand this. We've been watching some ABBA videos and the typical late 70's/early 80's look was more. I told her she can't wear makeup til she's a teenager....by then I hope she'll calm down and realize that subtle hilites or natural are good.

dlp252 Apprentice

Andrea, I think they are re-doing the lip glosses, which to me are definitely more like lipstick. I will say that the ones I've tried so far don't really show up on me at all, so even being more like a lipstick, they don't look like it. I'm hoping the new versions will be more like my beloved lip glosses, sheer with a hint of color.

I hadn't noticed the prices....good eye!

confused Community Regular

Ok will someone post all the new colors they have out lol.

I have been sitting there and looking at everything and not sure what is new or not.

I know the pearl concelors are new

a few lip glosses are new

Not sure what blush is new.

I think the only eye colors are the blues, right. Plus 2 like white ones.

My brain is not working today.

paula

thanks everyone for hoping i can find my diamond. I have cleaned the whole dowstairs and nothing. I have looked in my van, and nothing. Hubby is going to help look threw all the trash we bundled up yesterdays and all the clothes that we bagged.

dlp252 Apprentice

Okay, comparing against my trusty spreadsheet here are the new colors:

New Pearl Eye colors:

10 Items or Less

dlp252 Apprentice

Okay, how clever are THEY!!!???!!!

I counted 7 news eyecolors that I don't have (I have a full sized Mistletoe), and there were 3 from the old colors that I didn't order...how convenient!!! That makes TEN!!!! I can order a new eye color kit, lol.

Joni63 Collaborator

Wow! It's nice, but I can't get everything to work. I like what I see though!

I definately have to have Bubble Tea eye color and probably Plane View! And it looks like Soccer Practice is a nice lip color.

The custom kits won't load for me so I can't check them out yet.

The pictures are very nice and I think from a first glance that the color swatches are closer than the ones on the other site.

Exciting...now that it's here!

WW340 Rookie

Paula, so sorry you lost your diamond. I have been through that myself. Fortunately, I was able to find it both times. Once was in the trash, so sift through that very carefully. The other time I noticed it was gone just after it fell out of the setting at the dining room table. Don't give up. I am wishing you luck on finding it.

We are supposed to check our settings every 6 months, but few people really do that. I still don't, even after losing the stone twice.

The new site is nice. I had fun putting stuff in my cart.

I know I am getting older, but some of those models look like they are about 12 years old, geesh. I would rather see a few older models, not younger!

dlp252 Apprentice

Yeah, there have been some comments posted in the news section. Apparently that was the piece of the puzzle that had really been holding stuff back, so they decided to put up the beta site without them. Carina also made a quick little post that there were thinking of offering more in the sample kit. She said 8, but also said she really wanted to do a 10!!! Yay, lol. Although very shortly there won't be 10 things left I haven't tried, lol.

It would be nice to have varying models of all ages.

Andrea, the original lip colors were all pretty subtle and didn't show up on a lot of people. I recall them posting that the new ones coming out were going to be more pigmented and stronger in color, am I remembering that right ladies?

I had a thought for T, Burt's Bees and some of the other lines carried in the health food stores have tinted chapsticks. Next time you make it to Whole Foods or your local store there you might want to check into these. I think the ingredients are pretty safe and it would be a step towards wearing makeup, chapstick with just a touch of subtle color to it, not exactly lip stick and not exactly chapstick.

I'd prefer the more natural look or light coloring. I liked the Ginger Peach too by the description.

The great thing about EM Andrea is all the eye colors have been pretty subtle. Also with mineral make-up you just use a little bit and it does appear natural, barely there, even if it is blue.

Of course with the new line they have talked about having darker, and more pigmented colors. And also as Donna has discussed, how you apply it can make it lighter/darker, i.e. with your finger vs. a brush.

I put my EM on my nieces when they come to visit and I put it on so lightly. You can hardly tell they are wearing any makeup, it just gives them a little sparkle, very natural...of course they feel pretty big and proud because they have their auntie's make-up on :lol:

Okay, comparing against my trusty spreadsheet here are the new colors:

I was going to say, it would have to be Donna with her spreadsheets to figure what the new colors were

I have my eye on the Bubble Tea too.

Very good point. I read through a thread on the EM site where users gave their ages and locations and there is women of all ages using EM.

I agree they should have models of a variety of ages as well.

OH NO! I just thought of something, are we still able to get into our old carts on the old site??

I better go check, of course I did end up copying over my contents, but still....i panicked there for a second

I can buy make-up now. Im so excited that i found my diamond. It was under my sofa cushion lol. Now i can go look around on Em and relax and shop lol Thank you all for caring today, it meant so much to me. Now to get it fixed, and i can stop being hubby's mistress lol

I am totally jazzed because I think Shortcake is the blush color I have been looking for and wanting all this time, a deep rose color!!!!

I added it to my cart, as well as Plane View and Starlit eye colors, they are absolutely gorgeous looking/sounding (at least from the swatch and description).

This is so exciting :D

Question about the lip colors, are these the same formulation with these additional colors added to the line-up OR are these newly formulated lip colors. The reason I ask is because I am wondering if it is safe to assume the old lip color reviews still hold up?? :D (i.e. Cherry Fizz or Girl's day from the old site is the same as what is on the new site)

Does that even make sense?

Donna, you forgot to add the new lip colors.

Butterfly Garden is new I think....and English Muffin?....and possibly Soccer practice.

Of course I don't have spreadsheet to consult, just my foggy brain

I was thinking the same about shortcake when i read it earlier. I like the new blush colors. I will have to try them out.

Those lip colors are new, i am buying every new lip color lol. Im thinking its all the new formula, but i could be wrong.

I wasnt going to get the blues, but hubby thinks they will bring out the green in my eyes. I will have to get an 10 pk of eye shadows, i guess.

Paula GREAT NEWS!!!! I am so glad you found it :D

Thanks julie. Im on cloud 9. You would of thought i ate cheese or won the lottery lol

I LOVE the new blush colors, I'm also interested in Snuggle and Wake Up Call (Shortcake is my first choice though)

All the new colors are great overall in all the categories imo.

Another thing I love is the picture of Carina and her kids on the front page, her kids are adorable.

Oh no....I loaded a bunch of stuff in my cart this afternoon and it's gone, I figured as much since I wasn't logged in. If we can't register yet how can we fill and save the contents of our carts??

confusedks Enthusiast

I'm totally excited for the new site! I just wish it was done earlier. ;) I have waited over a month to order things! :o I LOVE that they have lots of new blues and greens. I have green/hazel eyes so most of the other colors don't look so good on me.

The old site had very little variation of colors...lots were neutral eye colors.

And, why would you want a pearl concealer? I don't understand it...can someone explain?

Yeah, I didn't have the lip colors on my sheet because I didn't like any of them, lol. I may have to add them now...someone in the news section posted that there is another color there which you can't see...it's almost the same color as the background...must go look in a bit.

And, why would you want a pearl concealer? I don't understand it...can someone explain?

Hum, you mean you don't want to look like a shiney kermit?! Now THAT I don't understand!!! j/k

Actually, I'm not sure WHAT I'll use them for, but I LOVE shiney stuff, lol. Sure way to capture my attention and hold it is to put something shiney in front of me. I think they might be great to add a little bit of sparkle and depth, but not too much...I haven't even been using my concealors lately though, lol. Still I'm ordering every single pearl concealor just because they are shiney!  :ph34r:

REMEMBER NOT TO REGISTER OR TRY TO ORDER ANYTHING FROM THE NEW SITE until they say it's okay! It's not secure yet and any info entered there will be like putting it on public display, lol.

Hi @Dizzyma I note what @trents has commented about you possibly posting from the UK.  Just to let you know that am a coeliac based in the UK, so if that is the case, do let me know if can help you with any questions on the NHS provision for coeliacs.    If you are indeed based in the UK, and coeliac disease is confirmed, I would thoroughly recommend you join Coeliac UK, as they provide a printed food and drink guide and also a phone app which you can take shopping with you so you can find out if a product is gluten free or not. But one thing I would like to say to you, no matter where you live, is you mention that your daughter is anxious.  I was always a bit of a nervous, anxious child but before my diagnosis in mid-life my anxiety levels were through the roof.   My anxiety got steadily better when I followed the gluten-free diet and vitamin and mineral deficiencies were addressed.  Anxiety is very common at diagnosis, you may well find that her anxiety will improve once your daughter follows a strict gluten-free diet. Cristiana

Welcome to the celic.com community @Dizzyma! I'm assuming you are in the U.K. since you speak of your daughter's celiac disease blood tests as "her bloods".  Has her physician officially diagnosed her has having celiac disease on the results of her blood tests alone? Normally, if the ttg-iga blood test results are positive, a follow-up endoscopy with biopsy of the small bowel lining to check for damage would be ordered to confirm the results of "the bloods". However if the ttg-iga test score is 10x normal or greater, some physicians, particularly in the U.K., will dispense with the endoscopy/biopsy. If there is to be an endoscopy/biopsy, your daughter should not yet begin the gluten free diet as doing so would allow healing of the small bowel lining to commence which may result in a biopsy finding having results that conflict with the blood work. Do you know if an endoscopy/biopsy is planned? Celiac disease can have onset at any stage of life, from infancy to old age. It has a genetic base but the genes remain dormant until and unless triggered by some stress event. The stress event can be many things but it is often a viral infection. About 40% of the general population have the genetic potential to develop celiac disease but only about 1% actually develop celiac disease. So, for most, the genes remain dormant.  Celiac disease is by nature an autoimmune disorder. That is to say, gluten ingestion triggers an immune response that causes the body to attack its own tissues. In this case, the attack happens in he lining of the small bowel, at least classically, though we now know there are other body systems that can sometimes be affected. So, for a person with celiac disease, when they ingest gluten, the body sends attacking cells to battle the gluten which causes inflammation as the gluten is being absorbed into the cells that make up the lining of the small bowel. This causes damage to the cells and over time, wears them down. This lining is composed of billions of tiny finger-like projections and which creates a tremendous surface area for absorbing nutrients from the food we eat. This area of the intestinal track is where all of our nutrition is absorbed. As these finger-like projections get worn down by the constant inflammation from continued gluten consumption before diagnosis (or after diagnosis in the case of those who are noncompliant) the efficiency of nutrient absorption from what we eat can be drastically reduced. This is why iron deficiency anemia and other nutrient deficiency related medical problems are so common in the celiac population. So, to answer your question about the wisdom of allowing your daughter to consume gluten on a limited basis to retain some tolerance to it, that would not be a sound approach because it would prevent healing of the lining of her small bowel. It would keep the fires of inflammation smoldering. The only wise course is strict adherence to a gluten free diet, once all tests to confirm celiac disease are complete.

Hi all, I have so many questions and feel like google is giving me very different information. Hoping I may get some more definite answers here. ok, my daughter has been diagnosed as a coeliac as her bloods show anti TTG antibodies are over 128. We have started her  on a full gluten free diet. my concerns are that she wasn’t actually physically sick on her regular diet, she had tummy issues and skin sores. My fear is that she will build up a complete intolerance to gluten and become physically sick if she has gluten. Is there anything to be said for keeping a small bit of gluten in the diet to stop her from developing a total intolerance?  also, she would be an anxious type of person, is it possible that stress is the reason she has become coeliac? I read that diagnosis later in childhood could be following a sickness or stress. How can she have been fine for the first 10 years and then become coeliac? sorry, I’m just very confused and really want to do right by her. I know a coeliac and she has a terrible time after she gets gluttened so just want to make sure going down a total gluten free road is the right choice. thank you for any help or advise xx
