Gorgeous!!!!

I was really thinking hard about what "eotd" stood for...........and I finally figured it out!

Also, I see that the special has been extended to the 21st, with a new freebie blush being offered with orders after the 19th.

Thanks Jess! WOW, that first set of photos is GORGEOUS! I can never get mine to look like that so I gave up and just use one color now.

Yea, that was pretty much my response - Wow! I could never do that

OK, I really do hate to complain, but I am going to anyway.....

I HATE THE NEW SITE!!!!!!!!

I have spent like the last hour and a half trying to fill my cart, and it's tedious enough to select the colors and drag them to the carts in order to fill all the kits, by the time I had 2 filled and was on to the next thing they had been removed. I now have one of those headaches from concentrating and working at something so hard! So I am giving up for now and will return to it later.

Does anyone have both Samba Lessons and Starry Eyed? They look and sound so similar, I'm wondering if I even need or want both?

And do we get a brush with the mini eye shadow kits? It just doesnt mention it, that I can see anyway.

I have both. I really love Samba Lessons...it's a dark sparkly brown. Starry Eyed is more mauvy brown...it's also dark and sparkly. Had I not just gone to the site to check them out I was about to say they aren't even close, lol... IMHO you really need both!

Yeah, the new site has its moments!

I guess that was a dumb question of me to ask, for two reasons..........1) of course you have both Donna, the girl who has every color  and 2) of course I need both

That is one of the mottos isn't it? More is better?!

What are the other blues you got that are similar?

Here are all the blues I got.

Plane View - more to the gray side

Starlit - a blue/gray/green mix with a silvery sheen

Happy Go Lucky - more toward the periwinkle side, but not nearly as dramatic as the picture on the EM site

Bubble Tea - a lot like starlit with more turquise in it

Bird Bath - a grayer blue

I chose bubble tea on the lid with cliche as a base today. Bubble tea is a really nice turquoise with silver thing. Cliche is the base I have been searching for. Less pink than good china, but with a nice sparkle, not as gray as rare silk. I think Cliche will be my new favorite base.

sorry, it's eotd

Open Original Shared Link

I get it now. When I first saw EOTW, I thought it was short for "End of the World". You know how dramatic some people get on the EM site about their makeup. Great thread with lots of good ideas. I will never be able to recreate them to her level of detail, but good ideas to be sure.

I have both of those. Samba lessons is a sparkly brown. Starry eyed is a sparkly brown with a purple tone to it. I use starry eyed when I want tomething more subtle, and with the cooler eyeshadows like the purples. The eyeshadow kit I just got did come with a brush. I thought it would not, since they don't mention the brush on the site, and the cost of the kit went down by $1. Unexpected and great!

ShadowSwallow Newbie

I accidentally ordered my order twice.

And I need new summer foundation (who'd've thought with how little time I spend outside? )... and a new brush. Hm... I'm thinkin' I'm gonna be ordering again no matter what. :P:rolleyes:

Colleen, this was incredibly helpful! Some of these colors I was on the fence about, and now with your description I can narrow down my choices. Cliche definitely caught my eye and was in my cart, it sounded like it would make the prefect base and you've just confirmed that :)

Good to know the mini eye kit comes with a brush. That is awesome it's a dollar cheaper and still including the brush!

I also thought that the blues were very similar, but when you get them on, they have some differences. All great colors. I totally love 10 Items Or Less! And Well Being is an awesome liner, as is Mystic Night! I have on Mistletoe again today, I can't stay away from it now, I think it's my new favorite. I really like Launch Party, for a blush and shadow, and Natural lip gloss is so nice with the bright colors.

Thanks for the advice on the splotchy eye color. I've been applying foundation to my lids now and haven't had it happen again, and the shadow seems to las longer.

I was glad there was still a brush with the mini eyeshadow kit, because I got an angled brush this time that I adore.

I feel another order coming on...... :P

Julie - I know our fellow wise cult members have already given you an answer (and you already knew the answer anyway :lol: ), but yes...you absolutely need samba and starry.

I like starry eyed for an everyday eyeliner. It has that dark, yet still natural thing going on that EM does so well. Samba lessons is a bit richer, and somehow goes on thicker for me. It's more of a nighttime, dramatic type of look.

Does anyone else wish they would use the pearl concealer formula in the eyeshadows? I've been using pearl pick me up pink (ppmup lol) on my eyes and I love it. Sunlight pearl and ppmup remind me of Benefit moonbeam and highbeam, if anyone's ever used Benefit.....

Yes, executing the cult motto of "buy now AND buy later" with precision!

 You too Shannon

Thanks for your reviews of the blues. I'm glad the base of foundation on your eyes fixed the problem you were having with the eye colors :D

I hope I get an angled eye brush with my order!

This is what I got:

-Eye shadow brush

-Oval concealer brush

-Flat top brush

-Long handled kabuki

-Angled blush brush

-Free Sample Kit

beige fairly light

beige sandy fair

beie sunkissed fair

corner office blush

-Tinted silk dust

-Weekend Getaway blush

-Mini eye shadow kit

Starry eyed

Thanks Andrea, I'll post my reviews when I get everything and the experimenting begins

It's a good idea to take notes when someone raves about something, or mentions something that you are interested, otherwise it's impossible to remember and too much of a hassle to go back.

Ha, I ordered my train case. A present to myself. :) Also a tooth whitener.

Today I tried to use the Pearl Beige as an eyeshadow...it looked pretty good but was just a hair too light so I put Gingerbread man over it, and I really, really liked that, lol.

I also switched the brushes I use...Normally I use the flat top for my silk dust layer, then use the long handled kabuki for my foundation. I switched them today...still not sure what I think about that. I'll get back to you. :P

Guess what, Guess what lol

I got my makeup. I also now know why it took so long. I paid for usps priority and i got it from dhl. I was so mad tho cause it was 15 minutes after i did my makeup lol. I was out of sunlight so i had to use mint lol. I still have to look over everything.

I am happy again that i got it, even tho it took forever. Even tho I have to find room for the stuff i bought now lmao

Yay Paula!!!! So happy you finally got it! How'd the dreaded DHL get a hold of it, lol?!

You'll have fun playing!

I've decided when I'm off for my foot surgery, I'm going to play with stuff. Like this morning. I really love Gingerbread man, and thought it might look good as a bronzer or blush, but was too afraid to try it. I'll try it on a day when I don't have to go out, lol.

no argument. Never take the pills sold for Nuclear events, except in a nuclear event when instructed to by authorities.  Some of these go up to 130 milligrams per pill. 5000 times the strength of the dietary supplement.  130 times the safe upper limit.  130 mg = 130,000 mcg. Dietary supplements like Lugol's Solution and Liquid Iodine are 50 micrograms per drop.  It takes 20 drops to reach the safe upper limit. In the US the Safe upper limit is 1100 mcg.  In Europe 600 mcg and in Japan 3000 mcg ( 3 mg).

Welcome to the celiac.com community, @JudyLou! There are a couple of things you might consider to help you in your decision that would not require you to do a gluten challenge. The first, that is if you have not had this test run already, is to request a "total IGA" test to be run. One of the reasons that celiac blood antibody tests can be negative, apart from not having celiac disease, that is, is because of IGA deficiency. If a person is IGA deficient, they will not respond accurately to the celiac disease blood antibody tests (such as the commonly run TTG-IGA). The total IGA test is designed to check for IGA deficiency. The total IGA test is not a celiac antibody test so I wouldn't think that a gluten challenge is necessary. The second is to have genetic testing done to determine if you have the genetic potential to develop celiac disease. About 30-40% of  the general population have the genetic potential but only about 1% actually develop celiac disease. So, genetic testing cannot be used to diagnose celiac disease but it can be used to rule it out. Those who don't have the genetic potential but still have reaction to gluten would not be diagnosed with celiac disease but with NCGS (Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity).  Another possibility is that you do have celiac disease but are in remission. We do see this but often it doesn't last.

Hi there, I’m debating whether to consider a gluten challenge and I’m hoping someone here can help with that decision (so far, none of the doctors have been helpful). I have a history of breaking out in a horrible, burning/itchy somewhat blistering rash about every 8 years. This started when I was in my early 30’s and at that point it started at the ankles and went about to my knees. Every time I had the rash it would cover more of my body, so my arms and part of my torso were impacted as well, and it was always symmetrical. First I was told it was an allergic reaction to a bug bite. Next I was told it was eczema (after a biopsy of the lesion - not the skin near the lesion) and given a steroid injection (didn’t help). I took myself off of gluten about 3 weeks before seeing an allergist, just to see if it would help (it didn’t in that time period). He thought the rash looked like dermatitis herpetiformis and told me to eat some bread the night before my blood tests, which I did, and the tests came back negative. I’ve since learned from this forum that I needed to be eating gluten daily for at least a month in order to get an accurate test result. I’m grateful to the allergist as he found that 5 mg of doxepin daily will eliminate the rash within about 10 days (previously it lasted for months whether I was eating gluten or not). I have been gluten free for about 25 years as a precaution and recommendation from my doctor, and the pattern of breaking out every 8 years or so remains the same except once I broke out after just one year (was not glutened as far as I know), and now it’s been over 9 years. What’s confusing to me, is that there have been 3 times in the past 2 years when I’ve accidentally eaten gluten, and I haven’t had any reaction at all. Once someone made pancakes (they said they were gluten-free, they were not) and I ate several. I need to decide whether to do a gluten challenge and get another blood test. If I do, are these tests really accurate? I’m also concerned that I could damage my gut in that process if I do have celiac disease. My brother and cousin both had lymphoma so that’s a concern regarding a challenge as well, though there is a lot of cancer in various forms in my family so there may be no gluten connection there. Sorry for the ramble, I’m just doubting the need to remain gluten free if I don’t have any reaction to eating it and haven’t had a positive test (other than testing positive for one of the genes, though it sounds like that’s pretty common). I’d appreciate any thoughts or advice!

Hello, just popped in my head to ask this question about medications and celiac? I have always had refurse reaction to meds since I can remember  of what little meds my body is able to tolerate. I was taking gabapentin 300mg for a week,  in past I believe 150? Any ways it amps me up not able to sleep, though very tired. However I did notice it helped with my bloating sibo belly.I hate that my body is that sensitive and medical doesn't seem to take seriously. Im STILL healing with my skin, eye, and now ms or meningioma ( will know in April  which)and dealing with this limbo nightmare. I did write my name, address ect on the reclamation but im not tech savvy and not sure if went through properly. I called my city representative in Stanislaus County and asked if theres a physical paper i can sign for proclamation for celiac and she had no clue about what I was saying, so I just said I'll go back on website.
    • Scott Adams
I'm not saying that some celiacs won't need it, but it should be done under a doctor's supervision because it can cause lots of problems in some people.
