Yesterday I tried a semi-matte, not sure if I noticed any difference between it and the intensive. Does anyone think it's a more drying formulation?? It could just be my skin and what is going on with it now, but I thought I would ask if anyone else had this feeling when wearing it.

As far as coverage it was as excellent as the intensive for me.

I put on Morocco eye color and my Best Friends Blush.

I don't think I am going to be able to use the natural lip color :( , It really dried out my lips. By days end they were all cracked and peeling.

I'm still trying to figure out what foundation formulation is best for me. So far the semi-matte and the original glow seem to work the best. The intensive gives too much coverage and is too cakey for me and I haven't tried the matte in a while because the color is too dark so I forget what that was like.

I'm surprised about the lip color. I've worn them several times and they never dried out my lips. I wonder what's in them that could cause that?

Today's new tries...the kermit concealor and the black eyeliner. I LOVE this eyeliner. I've used the BE version for years now, but the black could be really black sometimes...this was absolutely PERFECT. For some reason it wasn't too dark. I used Good China as an all over color, then Shopping Spree as a smokey touch near the lashes and up into the crease. Looked very good.

The black eye liner rocks! I thought it would be hard to apply, but wet it goes on nicely and stays looking great all day! I've used mistletoe and silver spoon as eye liner just for fun, but like the black the best. It's more like a smokey grey than a stark black. , lol

Yes, I have my smaller brushes in a compartment on the top tray (and my larger brushes are in the bottom of the tote). I have my lip pencils in another compartment there, and I have my foundations in the other compartment. My concealors are in with the lip pencils, more because I want to keep them separate from the foundations so I don't pick up the wrong one, lol.

The second tray has 5 compartments....two of them are kind of narrow, but are exactly the right size for the mini eyeshadow containers turned on their side...I can fit 7 in each one (so 14 minis on their sides). Two more of the compartments are about the right size for full sized eyeshadow containers flat...can fit about 3 (maybe 4) in each of those, although I only have 3 full sized eyeshadows, so I've go my mascara in the other compartment. Then there is a larger compartment which I have my blushes in...still plenty more room in there, lol.

The bottom of the tote doesn't have any compartments, but it's perfect for my large and weird size brushes, eye lash curler, etc.

It sounds like the perfect size and like it's easy to organize all your makeup. I think I might need to take a run to Target soon, lol.

OMGosh I just read they were discontinuing the Finishing Dusts :o Did I read that wrong........

I read that too, but I thought maybe they just meant the 'silk' dust finishing products. I hope they don't discontinue all their Finishing Dusts, that would be tragic!

As far as brushes go, it seems easier for me if I have a brush for each application. I'm satisfied with all the brushes from EM for foundations and finishing application. I don't have a brush I like yet for blush. The Kabuki and the Eve brush put too much blush on for me in too huge an area. I really wanted the angled blush brush that is not in yet. I also can't wait to get the eye shadow brush since I don't have anything that works real well for that.

I just dust them off on my hand, then wash my hands when I'm done doing makeup. I usually end up with specs of makeup on them anyway, lol.

The forums at EM are a great idea! I also think they should have video sessions. It would make life so much easier for thos of us who are struggling with the right brushes, swirling technique and especially the eyes. I find those the hardest thing to do.

So, who is going to be brave enough to post their before/after pictures on the EM website???

It would be great if we all did it!

Nobody panic or anything....I think I may be coming over to the KERMIT side.

I love kermit concealer :D, although I tend to overdo it sometimes, which does result in walking around all day with a kermit-esq green hue. I'm not gonna lie...I've had some bad make-up days since I've started using EM, mainly because I get carried away and overly experimental in the morning.

I love BE Warmth. It worked really well for me so I am interested in creating that look with EM, I am thinking a similar blush color or a bronzer possibly???

Me too!!!! I love warmth!

I've kind of been going bronzerless lately. I feel like my skin looks more even that way, but sometimes I use soft bronzer from EM. It's really light and subtle, and almost impossible to mess up. I actually really like it :D

The black eye liner rocks!

Oh noooo...another color to add to my cart. Donna, I'll race you to see who can try every single eye color first :P

Omgosh, imagine the craziness if they come out with trial sizes of everything! There will be hundreds of items in all of our carts (or at least in mine!) :o

Ooooh, that would be the best! Especially since their color chart card is not very accurate all the time and I bought Sunday Brunch and Corner Office and they are both very orangey and dark. I can see where Sunday Brunch looks that way in the website picture but on the card it looks like a deep pink. Corner Office looks more pinky-peach in both and is extremely dark and orange compared to both web picture and color card. All my other colors may be off as in a shade darker/lighter but not total color differences.

Does anyone else have it? I'm just curious because it seems to be the only color that is way off so far.

I'm curious how many of you experienced severe color variations from the card and picture?

Joni, I don't have Corner Office.

Keep in mind, I only have 3 blushes thus far  , but I have also experienced the colors being off compared to the card and the website with my mere 3 blush colors:

Best Friends is nothing like the card or the website.

B&B is pretty much right on with the card, and not so much like the website.

Apple is also pretty much right on with the card, and not so much like the website.

But the thing is, what it looks like in the jar is not necessarily what it is going to look when you apply it on your face.

I try to really pay attention to the written description, IMO it gives more hints and clues about the color's characteristics.

Also, as I found out yesterday spending some time reading through the forum, it's a great place to get ratings and reviews, and if they have posted their pictures, you get a lot of information about what the colors look like and how they work on different complexions.

Me! LOL

I have Corner Office. I don't like oranges but this one works for me. I dust it on with the Eve brush and add a swipe of Soft Touch (pink) and it's quite nice. I wonder if there are color variations among the actual colors though too (I hear they are sometimes not very consistent). My corner office is a bit peachy but is not too dark or orange.

I think i might get my stuff today or tommorow, on saturday it left the major sity by me, and mostly the stuff takes one day to get here, im getting so excited. How long does the stuff mostly take when u ship just the cheapest way? Hubby wanted me to do dhl but since texas is not that far from me i didnt want to spend the extra money lol. If i do get the stuff today i will keep paying the cheapest way to get the stuff lol.

Paula,

My sample kits took a while (like 1- 2 weeks from placing order) to get here.

My regular order came quickly.

Okay, so I found the forums over there, but can't figure out how to register. I see where there is a login button...and I tried that, but it keeps saying it doesn't know me. Has anyone registered for the forum? :P

Oh noooo...another color to add to my cart. Donna, I'll race you to see who can try every single eye color first :P

Yeah, something tells me you will STILL have me beat, lol. Yes, mayhem with the trial sizes of everything. I'll be right up there with you for items in my cart, lol.

Does anyone else have it? I'm just curious because it seems to be the only color that is way off so far.

I'm curious how many of you experienced severe color variations from the card and picture?

I don't have it...I ordered it in my very first sample kit, which I never got because I sent in a check before I read the part that they don't take checks anymore. So that order is packed but just kind of sitting there. :P I did order it on my last order though, so should get it this week hopefullly.

I have definitely seen some color variations, although with the colors I've ordered so far, the color swatches on the website seem to be the closest (not talking about the ones on the main screen--those are off--but the ones that are called "photo color guide". The link for that is under all the pictures of the colors of whatever. That is a little closer to what I actually get, usually. :P

So if you click on the Blushes & Face colors link, you'll see the pictures of all the colors...underneath that is another link that says "Blush Photo Color Guide" and if you click on that, it brings up larger pictures...that seems to be closer than anything else. But, there can still be a little difference.

I was wondering if there were color variations among the colors too. It seems like there would be, but I would hope not too much. My Corner office looks orange. It is a very dark color, but when mixed with something lighter, it works fine.

I have looked at that Color Guide. Since it's a real picture I hoped it would be close to what it looks when I get it. Thanks for that information.

Good for your Paula, glad it's close. Yes, I get so excited whenever I'm going to get some makeup. This time will be the last order for a while though as it's getting expensive and I really will have plenty of eveything that should last a long time, lol!

Yes, gotta add in that free kit. There are always more colors to try! I think I have 9 mini foundations and 3 more on their way now. lol! It will really help though when the seasons change and our skin gets more tan or fair depending on the season. I figure I'll just mix in the too dark or light colors as needed to help get the right shades in the future!

Well, I'm really excited my order has now shipped. It's not yet in the tracking system, but probably will be tonight. Yay!!!

I just got my first order, I've not tried any of them yet but the foundation colors look a little more yellow then I thought they would. Ugh, I'm not sure any will be right for my skin.

I got some brushes and stuff for free gifts and I received 2 eyeshadows that I know I don't want. They are unopened, if someone would like them I'd be happy to put them in a padded envelope and send them to you. I can tell by looking they are not colors I'd ever wear.

They are:

tinsel time eyeshadow

ginger bread man eye shadow

Fun order Jestgar!!

Susan, sorry your foundation order doesn't look like it's going to work :(

I assume you didn't get a sample kit and ordered full size since you received the free Tinsel Time and Gingerbread Man, they were getting rid of their holiday colors on orders over $30??

dlp252 Apprentice

Susan, I hope the colors look better on you than in the jar! I've found many times the color in the jar isn't necessarily the color it is on. That can be both good and bad. :P

Years  ago a friend and I drove north into Canada hoping to find a ski resort open in late spring,We were in my VW and found a small ski area near a small town and started up this gravelled road up a mountain. We  got about halfway up and got stuck in the mud. We tried everything we could think of but an hour later we were still stuck. Finally a pickup came down the road, laughed at our situation, then pulled the VW free of the mud. We followed him back to the ski area where where he started up the rope ski lift and we had an enjoyable hour of skiing and gave us a shot of aquavit  before we left.It was a great rescue.  In some ways this reminds me of your situation. You are waiting for a rescue and you have chosen medical practitioners to do it now or as soon as possible. As you have found out the med. experts have not learned how to help you. You face years of continuing to feel horrible, frustrated searching for your rescuer to save you. You can break away from from this pattern of thinking and you have begun breaking  away by using some herbs and supplements from doTerra. Now you can start trying some of the suggestions thatother Celiacs have written to your original posts.  You live with other people who eat gluten foods. Cross contamination is very possible. Are you sure that their food is completely separate from their food. It  is not only the gluten grains you need to avoid (wheat, barley, rye) but possibly oats, cows milk also. Whenever you fall back into that angry and frustrated way of thinking get up and walk around for a whild. You will learn ways to break that way of thinking about your problems.  Best wishes for your future. May you enjpy a better life.

Thanks for responding. I researched further and Lindt Lindor chocolate balls do contain barely malt powder which contains gluten. I was surprised at all of the conflicting information I found when I checked online.
    • trents
@BlessedinBoston, it is possible that in Canada the product in question is formulated differently than in the USA or at least processed in in a facility that precludes cross contamination. I assume from your user name that you are in the USA. And it is also possible that the product meets the FDA requirement of not more than 20ppm of gluten but you are a super sensitive celiac for whom that standard is insufficient.
    • BlessedinBoston
No,Lindt is not gluten free no matter what they say on their website. I found out the hard way when I was newly diagnosed in 2000. At that time the Lindt truffles were just becoming popular and were only sold in small specialty shops at the mall. You couldn't buy them in any stores like today and I was obsessed with them 😁. Took me a while to get around to checking them and was heartbroken when I saw they were absolutely not gluten free 😔. Felt the same when I realized Twizzlers weren't either. Took me a while to get my diet on order after being diagnosed. I was diagnosed with small bowel non Hodgkins lymphoma at the same time. So it was a very stressful time to say the least. Hope this helps 😁.

@Jmartes71, I understand your frustration and anger.  I've been in a similar situation where no doctor took me seriously, accused me of making things up, and eventually sent me home to suffer alone.   My doctors did not recognize nutritional deficiencies.  Doctors are trained in medical learning institutions that are funded by pharmaceutical companies.  They are taught which medications cover up which symptoms.  Doctors are required to take twenty  hours of nutritional education in seven years of medical training.  (They can earn nine hours in Nutrition by taking a three day weekend seminar.)  They are taught nutritional deficiencies are passe' and don't happen in our well fed Western society any more.  In Celiac Disease, the autoimmune response and inflammation affects the absorption of ALL the essential vitamins and minerals.  Correcting nutritional deficiencies caused by malabsorption is essential!  I begged my doctor to check my Vitamin D level, which he did only after making sure my insurance would cover it.  When my Vitamin D came back extremely low, my doctor was very surprised, but refused to test for further nutritional deficiencies because he "couldn't make money prescribing vitamins.". I believe it was beyond his knowledge, so he blamed me for making stuff up, and stormed out of the exam room.  I had studied Nutrition before earning a degree in Microbiology.  I switched because I was curious what vitamins from our food were doing in our bodies.  Vitamins are substances that our bodies cannot manufacture, so we must ingest them every day.  Without them, our bodies cannot manufacture life sustaining enzymes and we sicken and die.   At home alone, I could feel myself dying.  It's an unnerving feeling, to say the least, and, so, with nothing left to lose, I relied in my education in nutrition.  My symptoms of Thiamine deficiency were the worst, so I began taking high dose Thiamine.  I had health improvement within an hour.  It was magical.  I continued taking high dose thiamine with a B Complex, magnesium. and other essential nutrients.  The health improvements continued for months.  High doses of thiamine are required to correct a thiamine deficiency because thiamine affects every cell and mitochondria in our bodies.    A twenty percent increase in dietary thiamine causes an eighty percent increase in brain function.  The cerebellum of the brain is most affected.  The cerebellum controls things we don't have to consciously have to think about, like digestion, balance, breathing, blood pressure, heart rate, hormone regulation, and many more.  Thiamine is absorbed from the digestive tract and sent to the most important organs like the brain and the heart.  This leaves the digestive tract depleted of Thiamine and symptoms of Gastrointestinal Beriberi, a thiamine deficiency localized in the digestive system, begin to appear.  Symptoms of Gastrointestinal Beriberi include anxiety, depression, chronic fatigue, headaches, Gerd, acid reflux, gas, slow stomach emptying, gastroparesis, bloating, diarrhea and/or constipation, incontinence, abdominal pain, IBS,  SIBO, POTS, high blood pressure, heart rate changes like tachycardia, difficulty swallowing, Barrett's Esophagus, peripheral neuropathy, and more. Doctors are only taught about thiamine deficiency in alcoholism and look for the classic triad of symptoms (changes in gait, mental function, and nystagmus) but fail to realize that gastrointestinal symptoms can precede these symptoms by months.  All three classic triad of symptoms only appear in fifteen percent of patients, with most patients being diagnosed with thiamine deficiency post mortem.  I had all three but swore I didn't drink, so I was dismissed as "crazy" and sent home to die basically.   Yes, I understand how frustrating no answers from doctors can be.  I took OTC Thiamine Hydrochloride, and later thiamine in the forms TTFD (tetrahydrofurfuryl disulfide) and Benfotiamine to correct my thiamine deficiency.  I also took magnesium, needed by thiamine to make those life sustaining enzymes.  Thiamine interacts with each of the other B vitamins, so the other B vitamins must be supplemented as well.  Thiamine is safe and nontoxic even in high doses.   A doctor can administer high dose thiamine by IV along with the other B vitamins.  Again, Thiamine is safe and nontoxic even in high doses.  Thiamine should be given if only to rule Gastrointestinal Beriberi out as a cause of your symptoms.  If no improvement, no harm is done. Share the following link with your doctors.  Section Three is especially informative.  They need to be expand their knowledge about Thiamine and nutrition in Celiac Disease.  Ask for an Erythrocyte Transketolace Activity test for thiamine deficiency.  This test is more reliable than a blood test. Thiamine, gastrointestinal beriberi and acetylcholine signaling.  https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC12014454/ Best wishes!
