I know celiac can cause really stinky rear exit gas but does it also cause really stinky breath? I've had my kids tested but I'm awaiting results. My 12 year old has HORRID breath and I've had him gluten free for clost to two weeks and he seems less stinky. Is this a symptom? I'm really cruious.

I'm not sure about the HORRID breath from Celiac. (still learning after 1 1/2 year diag) But I can say that if he isn't brushing his tongue or flossing that can do it for sure. My 8 year old can brush her teeth but she can have wicked breath after. I have her stick out her tongue and it usually coated white and that is plaque build up. Hopefully this little tid bit helps. Good Luck

Dig through the "Parents of Kids or Babies With Celiac Disease" section. I seem to remember there were quite a few posts about very young kids with "morning mouth" and such pre-diagnosis. You can always PM the moms if they did not come back and post follow-up results. :)

I have read that it can be caused by Candida die off. My sister(undiagnosed and 50) has really bad breath. One time she said there were bugs flying around her head but not the guy she was talking to. She says it smells like poo or something dead. We are watching her other symptoms. She has always had a mild yeast problem off and on. She has some minor gluten related symptoms.
