Just Wanted To Vent!

Okay, I just need to vent...... on 6/10, I fell down the stairs at my home. I fell head first and sustained a mild traumatic brain injury and shattered my wrist (two plates, and one pin). One would think that after almost two months, I would be close to being on the mend. I have been going to physical therapy for a couple of weeks and today the decision was made to increase the therapy time to one hour, three days per week because the scar tissue is so bad that I still cannot bend my wrist. I also learned that it may take several months to get the wrist working. So frustrating and depressing.

Hang in there Whitball! I fell and broke my left elbow 5 years ago. twisted the arm clean around backwards. I really wasn't sure I'd be able to use my left hand after that one. Nerve damage and such. And it did take quite a while after the therapy ended to get it loosened up. It's not the same of course, but it works pretty good now. In my case a good year before it really started to feel loose again. So, don't get too frustrated, it could just be a matter of time before things get back to better.

Thanks for your support and letting me vent. It's nice to be able to unload and to have you guys offer encouragement to someone that you do not even know. Pretty cool!

Sorry to hear about the fall. Good luck with the rehab - hang in there, these things do take time. My knee took 18 months to be back to normal after surgery.

By the way Whitball, You might want to get a heating pad for your wrist, and also one of those squeezy toys with gel in it. A pair of gloves for cold weather might help too. You can squeeze the toy and make your own phy therapy at home.

Great idea about the heating pad. I am supposed to hot and cold contrast, but have found it hard to do at work. I cover two counties and spend alot of time in my car. I have a way to plug it in the car and can warm up and cool down in between meetings. Thanks!

I’m having this type of MRI this afternoon,  What specifically do you want to know?  From what I’ve read, not all facilities use the same drink prep.

Hi I've been told I need a MRI on my bowels , I was booked for a colonoscopy, but because of my sever back issues and trapped nerve it can't be done , the nurse told me I will have to have a manitol drink a hour before the scan , I'm just a bit worried has I have issues with sweeteners like even a little,  I get a weird throat and ears and I've read it is a similar substance , not sure if anyone has had one of these scans or could give me some advise on the drink prep thanks in advance 😄

Hi all ! Can a celiac attack be so intense that it causes your entire body to work in reverse? Meaning really bad pain,  neuropathy and muscle,  jaw pain,  the stomach issues , Horrible anxiety and confusion??  I had a Tums and you would think I ate poison. My jaw and stomach did not like it . Not the norm for me. Things that are simple are just out of control. Anyone ever have this happen??  I'm trying to figure out what I ate or did to bring on a celiac like attack. I had an idea before but yesterday I didn't have any gluten unless it was in a medication ?! Any positive suggestions ??  Thank you

The following two lists are very helpful for anyone who is gluten sensitive and needs to avoid gluten when shopping. It's very important to learn to read labels and understand sources of hidden gluten, and to know some general information about product labelling--for example in the USA if wheat is a possible allergen it must be declared on a product's ingredient label like this: Allergens: Wheat.
