are they ok? when something says "natural flavoring" or "modified food starch" should i flip out and worry and avoid it, even though im feeling terribly hungry? i read somewhere that most of america's modified food starch is from corn. could i be wrong, eating yogurt and peanuts and jelly on gross rice bread?

Planters Peanut, read the label cause wheat must be listed and they aren't likely to have barley, malt or rye.

Yoplait Yogurt is gluten free except for the obvious cookies and crumbs. Again, read the label and some now have gluten free labeling.

All Smuckers Jelly's and Jam are gluten free. They have a great lableing policy to list all forms of gluten.

AND NO RICE KRISPIES...THEY CONTAIN MALT. :(

Modified food starch in the US is general derived from corn unless otherwise listed as "Modified Food Starch (wheat)".

Here is a listing of companies who will clearly lable all forms of gluten to include barley, malt and rye.

So there is no worry about "natural flavors".

....and yes, rice bread is gross. Look for Kinnikinnick Bread Products. They make the best frozen chocolate covered donuts. I eat them frozen...to die for. ;)

Life is good.

The only thing I have to add is that if the peanuts are dry roasted you should check with the company. Many companie's flavorings used with the dry roasting process contain unsafe ingredients. You should always check stuff that has 'natural flavorings' for safety. That is where barley malt is often hiding. Most companies have a phone number or web site listed on the package. A bonus of doing this is many companies will send you coupons in response to your query. If there is a way you can do less processed food it will help you heal much faster with less accidental glutenings. Fresh fruit, veggies, fresh meat, potatoes, plain rice are all naturally gluten free.

I also prefer the Kinnikinnick preducts, their italian bread is good and I use their pizza crusts for pizza and as a flat bread. They also have hamburger and hot dog buns.

Hey I think those breads are gross too. I like corn tortillas toasted cripsy then spread on the butter or peanut butter and jelly.

I think I will not post my daughter's picture!!

No, Life Extension contains Benfotiamine and Thiamine Hydrochloride. Objective Nutrients Thiamax contains TTFD.     I take both of these and a B Complex.
    • xxnonamexx
what Benfotiamine should I take as Life Extension contains both Ben and TTFD.
    • knitty kitty
I take both Benfotiamine and TTFD.   You might want to start with the Benfotiamine for a few days and then add in the TTFD.   You can look for NeuroMag (Magnesium Threonate).  A magnesium glycinate is fine, too.  Doctor's Best is a good brand.  Don't take more than 300mg total per day of magnesium or it may have a laxative effect.   Be sure to take the B Complex.  The Benfotiamine and TTFD will need the other B vitamins.
    • xxnonamexx
Life Extension Benfotiamine with Thiamine has 100MG of Ben and 25 of Thia..... Do you think this is the one I should take or Objective Nutrients Thiamax (TTFD) which has 100MG Thiamine. How much magnesium should I look for? I take the womens 50+ multivitamin since consumerlabs stated and tested that it has the right amount of vitamins and not too much for men and doesn't have BHT which has shown to cause liver cancer in animals. I was never big with multivitamins as well as doctors I just read when I was first going gluten free to take a multi but I think I will stop them and work on trying the super B Thia and Ben, Mag.

Hi all I’ve been celiac for 4 years now, I’ve done pretty well to avoid it thus far. Last night I took the wrong pizza out of the freezer and ate the whole lot!! The non gluten and gluten pizza boxes are both very similar.   2 hours later I was throwing up violently on my hands and knees over the loo.  .horrendous stomach pains,  My hair was wet from sweat every part of my body was wet. What an awful experience, just had a bad headache today  fortunately.    Is their any products/pills anyone takes if they have realised they have just been glutened to make the symptoms a little less worse.  thanks
