Awesome! Gfcfsf Cream Substitute For Cooking!

Hi and Happy New Year!

I have to share.......I found a gluten-free, casein-free AND soy-free cream substitute. It's Mimiccreme. It has no saturated fat or trans fat either. It's made from water, almonds, cashews and rice starch.

Sounds weird, but I tried it and LOVE it. It looks and tastes like cream. I made beef stroganoff yesterday and sub'd the sour cream with it. Turned out awesome. Today I made Nordstrom's Tomato Basil soup sub'd it for the cream. Honestly I could NOT tell the difference between this batch and the ones I used to make. I'm in love! :)

BTW I don't work for Mimiccreme nor do I know anybody that does. I finally found it at my local health food store after stumbling across it about a month ago online. It runs about $6/quart, but so worth it. You can also order it online, but the shipping was very expensive. The website is www.mimiccreme.com.

They also make a sweetened version for baking.

Anyway, had to share.

Cheers!

I just saw this in the natural food store today! I can have dairy (at least, so far I can), but it's nice to know that there's a reasonable alternative! Hooray for nuts!!!! (It's made from cashew and almond, I think)

Thank you. I must have misinterpreted a study or something. Thank you for the clarification. Much appreciated. Almost three years into my celiac diagnosis and I'm still learning new things.

I wasn’t clear, glucagon and gadolinium were intravenous. I drank about 5 cups of the prep during 45 minutes. I feel very tired now, probably partly because I was nervous, and partly because I had to fast for 6 hours beforehand and wasn’t very hungry when I got home.

That seems at lot of solution to have put threw you when you already have bowel issues , I will phone them tomorrow because it's sorbitol I have reactions too, thankyou for the input how do you feel now ? I'm not sure I can keep still for that long with my back issues either unfortunately I didn't know it could take that long 😕

The solution I had to drink contained sorbitol and mannitol. I was in the MRI, lying on my back, for about 40 minutes. I was given glucagon partway through, and a gadolinium contrast agent. After I got home there was some diarrhea from the prep solution.
