Does Muscle Pain Come Back With Glutening?

Well Im so stupid, I've been trying to keep my kids on gluten until they can test (well 2 of them because one felt so much better after going gluten free with me he doesnt want to bother)..but anyway I glutened myself pretty good. I think it must've been the griddle or other CC while cooking.

I can barely hold my eyes open, stomach is so messed up, bloated, and I feel like a mac truck has hit me. I hurt all over and break a sweat just climbing the stairs. I've glutened myself before but not had the muscle and joint pain like this. Is this normal? I'm so upset with myself because I'd done so well these past few weeks. Is there anything I can do? Should I not exercise while I'm in pain, I can't avoid walking because that's my job, but I wonder about strength training, really exercising etc?

Don't you just hate when you do that to yourself? I always say If I wanted to feel bad I would have done it on something I really like :rolleyes: Yes, my deep muscle and joint pain comes back when I get glutened and stays around four to five days.

I know, I was thinking that I might as well of hit Pizza Inn head on. yikes on the 4-5 days. This is so not worth it. I was seeking a diagnosis for the kids because of their dad. Honestly him and his family didn't even listen to me when I asked them to keep our asthmatic child away from cigarette smoke, so they probably would ignore this too. He's only had them 2 times this entire year so at least its minimal exposure if it turns out that they all need to stay clear of gluten.

I think that exercising as much as I can manage helps with the symptoms of glutening.

I take something for pain if it gets too bad, then mostly just endulge my syptoms with rest and safe food.

Today is much better, I was able to run today. I'm wiped out but very thankful :)

I get lower back pain when I am glutened. It even hurts to sneeze. Frankly, before I went gluten-free, I never noticed back pain like this. I run daily, and the first 1/4 mile is rough b/c my back is so stiff. But exercise warms the muscle, and loosens it, so I usually feel better afterward. The back pain lasts up to 5 days. And the first couple of days, it is back pain, and overall body ache like when you have the flu.

I get AWFUL muscle and joint pain. I cant do anything without being in pain so I just sit in a hot bath and wait for it to go away. It sucks.

      Welcome to the forum, @yellowstone! The most common ones seem to be dairy (casein), oats, eggs, soy and corn. "Formed" meat products (because of the "meat glue" used to hold their shape) is a problem for some. But it can be almost anything on an individual basis as your sensitivity to rice proves, since rice is uncommonly a "cross reactor" for celiacs. Some celiacs seem to not do well with any cereal grains.

      What foods can trigger a response in people with gluten sensitivity? I've read that there are foods that, although they don't contain gluten, can cause problems for people with gluten sensitivity because they contain proteins similar to gluten that trigger a response in the body. I've seen that other cereals are included: corn, rice... also chicken, casein. I would like to know what other foods can cause this reaction, and if you have more information on the subject, I would like to know about it. Right now, I react very badly to rice and corn. Thank you.

      Shingles is dormant and related to chicken pox when one has had in the past.Shingles comes out when stress is heightened.I had my 3rd Shingles in 2023.
