I had some Reese's Peanut butter cups which i thought were gluten free, but I think I had a reaction.

Has anyone had trouble with these? I'm not sure what else it could have been so I checked their

website and they were not clear.

Thanks.

I've never had a "reaction" to them. I always have been told that the regular packages are ok, but the individual wrapped ones or the snack size ones (the ones that come in the halloween candy bags and such) are NOT ok and can be xcontaminated.

That's my two cents.

Here's a thread on it

and a list of Open Original Shared Link (though I don't know their source)

I eat them with no problems :) Hope you feel better soon!

I was just coming on here to see if anyone else has had a reaction...

I did, and it was the only thing I have eaten that is not labeled gluten-free

I had Chex cereal (Cinnamon) with Blue Diamond Almond Breeze Almond Milk, then for dinner I had Mrs. Leepers lasagna mix stuff...

The only other thing was water and a four pack of Reeses

Sorry, I think I got you mixed up with another poster.

I hadn't been eating gluten free before having the antibody test done. I started eating gluten free after having the test done because the gastro PA told me to eat gluten-free for 6 months. I'm now 3 months in.

I tend to agree with RMJ. Your doc took the reasonable and practical approach to diagnosis. All things considered, it was the right way to go. However, if you have first degree relatives that show signs of possible celiac disease, urge them to get formally tested before they start the gluten free diet.

It sounds like you have a very reasonable GI doctor, who diagnosed you based on family history and symptoms after eating gluten. I would consider you lucky! The other option would be to make yourself very sick by doing weeks of a gluten challenge prior to an endoscopy.
