Hi, I am in real need of a good multivitamin and have been putting off getting some because I am worried about getting glutened. Any suggestions? I was reading about b-12 deficiency and realize that I really need to get back on a suppliment.

Thanks!

I personally like liquid vitamins the best because of the way it absorbs into your body. I take Liquid Vitamins Plus by Utrition and it says ultra absorbable on it.

On top of this I also take a sublingual B-12 vitamin by enzymatic therapy.

I also occasionally take a B complex by enzymatic therapy too.

Hope this helps a bit.

I have heard people on here say Centrum is good too

I take the brand Kaiti suggested... they have several varieties. I am taking the liquid for women 40+. I am also taking a liquid B-12. I just did a google search for "Utrition" and found them that way.

I take a Multi from Whole Foods...their 365 Day brand one. It even says gluten-free on the label.

Dr. Green at the Columbia Celiac Disease Center recommended that I take Adeks vitamins. They are available in liquid and chewable tablets and are very easy to digest as they are made for people that have difficulty absorbing vitamins. I have the chewable and they actually taste very good too!

Oh, that's interesting, Addicted2Gluten... :) Always good to know what the professionals recommend. ;)

Sorry, I think I got you mixed up with another poster.

I hadn't been eating gluten free before having the antibody test done. I started eating gluten free after having the test done because the gastro PA told me to eat gluten-free for 6 months. I'm now 3 months in.

I tend to agree with RMJ. Your doc took the reasonable and practical approach to diagnosis. All things considered, it was the right way to go. However, if you have first degree relatives that show signs of possible celiac disease, urge them to get formally tested before they start the gluten free diet.

It sounds like you have a very reasonable GI doctor, who diagnosed you based on family history and symptoms after eating gluten. I would consider you lucky! The other option would be to make yourself very sick by doing weeks of a gluten challenge prior to an endoscopy.

Hi Colleen H,   I suffered with the pins and needles/burning feeling in my legs and feet for at least  6 years until my Nephrologist figured out that I had to go on a low salt diet.  He said my kidneys weren't strong enough to remove the salt.  The simple fix was a diuretic, but that med leaves the uric acid behind, so that wasn't an option.  On the bright side the low salt diet lowered my BP over 20 points and and the pins and needles/burning feeling went away.  Good Luck and hope this helps.
