Tummy Still Upset

Hello!!

I've been gluten free for a couple of months now. I find the stomach upset issues to be really slow going. All the time after I eat, my stomach hurts (less than before but it still bothers me!). I know this will probably persist until things heal up in there from all the gluten I ate before diagnosis but wondering how long this has taken for people. I've slipped up a bit since going gluten-free which is always because I eat something and then find out that it has gluten in it afterwards (still getting used to gluten being in so many unexpected things). But lately I've been really good and I know I'm eating gluten-free, but still the upset

What are you typically eating? Have you considered dropping dairy or soy for a while to see if it makes a difference?

I second this, also check any meds you take and supplement. Eliminate gluten from your toiletries and make sure you have done all you need to in your home to be safe, ie. seperate condiments, nut butters and jelly, new dedicated toaster and colander or strainer, not using gluten flours to bake for others etc. You should go with as whole and unprocessed of a diet as you can at first also. It will help you heal faster.

Try finding ways to be as kind to your tummy as you can, I found that peeling my apples, and not eating the skin of my sweetpotatoes helped. When I phased out quinoa, the only grain I was still eating it definately got better, it's pretty rough on your guts!

Hello everyone, this my first time to this website and I need some help. I’m 65 years old and have been living with Celiacs for about 15 years. My doctor has suggested I start taking a probiotic named  Integrative Pro-Flora-Concentrae. Has anyone else used this probiotic specifically? If this one isn’t celiac friendly can you recommend another please. Thank you.

If a Celiac person is successful in following a gluten-free diet, they can go into remission.   They may not have a reaction to gluten without a precipitating event like an injury or infection or even emotional or mental stress.   Following a strict gluten-free diet at home, then indulging in gluten containing products abroad without a reaction can be explained by this remission.
