I am curious about this beer and if its even something i would like. I was (in my former life)an avid beer drinker. But i drank bud light or blue light- Does anyone on here know what this tastes close to? I would appreciate it- Not that i have even seen it in my area but im really good at hunting gluten free stuff down lol.

I liked heavier beers in my previous life. I like Redbridge. Its light and like all gluten-free beers, a bit sweet. It is not as sweet as New Grist. Bard's is another beer that is in a lot of the country. You can check on Anheiser Busch (spelling?) website to see where it is sold. If you haven't had a regular beer in a while, these taste better. :)

i agree with kareng. i like it. it does taste like a "light beer".

Thank you!! Didnt want to spend the extra money if it wasnt something worth trying! And they sell it at all the Tops' around here!! Guess i know what ill be doing after work!

Also, don't judge on the first sip. Sometimes things taste different then we expect, not bad, but different.

The funny thing about this beer is that it actually tastes better very very cold right from the bottle rather than pouring it into a glass or even a frosty mug. I found I didn't really care for it and have changed to Hard Cider... I really like the Hornsby's brand. It gives me the sames giggles.... and tastes better than the Redbridge.

I really prefer Bard's to Redbridge. I really love the dark beers, though. The tasty, bitter ones. :-)

I also was wondering if anyone is from the north east if/where they sell new grist around here i tried the locator on the website but i was unavailable. I hear thats more like a lite beer?

I love Redbridge in my recipes, it makes excellent fish batter, barbecue ribs, and I created a pizza crust that I think the beer makes it taste more like real pizza crust. Drinking it however, my hubby likes it, me not so much.

As a Stout and Porter kinda gal I prefer Green's because they have a line of dark beers. I used to have a rule that if I could see through the bottle, any light at all, I wouldn't drink the beer because it made me nauseous.

I now know why.

I can drink gluten-free beer just fine regardless of how much light flows through. ;)

Haven't tried Redbridge...mostly because I'm a Wisconsin girl ;) New Grist is local. :)

I do like Red Bridge, but I first tasted it after two years with NO beer. That may have an effect!

I really prefer Bards. To me it tastes similar to my memory of Anchor Steam, which I loved. Unfortunately, Bards is not available here, so I am happy with Red Bridge... sometimes VERY happy!

Yeah ... I mostly gave up on beer and drink wine, which I luckily also like. Bard's is a little expensive for me, and Yinpu is cheap but tastes a little odd.

Redbridge is my favorite...and in my opinion New Grist is horrible....i had one sip and poured it down the drain. very bitter and almost sour! ewe ;0

      Welcome to the forum, @yellowstone! The most common ones seem to be dairy (casein), oats, eggs, soy and corn. "Formed" meat products (because of the "meat glue" used to hold their shape) is a problem for some. But it can be almost anything on an individual basis as your sensitivity to rice proves, since rice is uncommonly a "cross reactor" for celiacs. Some celiacs seem to not do well with any cereal grains.

      What foods can trigger a response in people with gluten sensitivity? I've read that there are foods that, although they don't contain gluten, can cause problems for people with gluten sensitivity because they contain proteins similar to gluten that trigger a response in the body. I've seen that other cereals are included: corn, rice... also chicken, casein. I would like to know what other foods can cause this reaction, and if you have more information on the subject, I would like to know about it. Right now, I react very badly to rice and corn. Thank you.

      Shingles is dormant and related to chicken pox when one has had in the past.Shingles comes out when stress is heightened.I had my 3rd Shingles in 2023.
