I know how much this means to you that your Mum is going to do this for her health...and so, I am just over-the-moon for you right now.

Dinner will be pork roast with roasted veggies as we continue our cleaning out. Gonna be scarce on here for a day or so,

kareng Grand Master

I soooo love this little cheer leader and Irish's little dancing guy!  They make me want to smile....so I guess I will! :D

Its in the 80s here with rain drizzles. We went from blizzarding one week, to rainy week, to summer stuff. Everything seems to have  jumped a foot and my allergies are going crazy.

Dinner? No clue.

GottaSki Mentor

Mindwarp!!!!!

That is fantastic news -- I am jumping up and down....without my little cheerleader for now...but great, great news!!!!!

I had some errands today that couldn't be put off. It seems I have decided to become allergic to the sun. I have a positively beautiful rash from it. <_< I don't think I want to play the is it just from exposure or is it from a product/food and exposure combo game. I will simply avoid the sun midday.

Now that I am home, and totally beat I am just going to do some reheated pasta and meatloaf for dinner with some fried garlic green beans. I picked up some Moroccan mint and some mint strawberry at the garden store today since the herb shop doesn't sell mint.  I suppose I have to wait until close to sunset to go play garden hero.

or from me... I can tolerate the sun without overheating, rashes and bumps. Maybe it is one symptom  I "escaped"?

( that would be a first, since I have everything else on celiac, food intolerance and HIT symptoms lists.)  <_<

IDK you guys, sounds like the sort of thing that could be contagious. :P

I managed to get my mint in pots and all three (short) rows of corn in the ground tonight. My husband probably thinks I'm a little weird for gardening barefoot. Oh well, he can think what he likes. I like walking in the dirt in my bare feet.

Well, you got THAT from me. :D  I have always played in the yard barefoot. And I have the bee stings to prove it.

What can I say? I hate shoes. (not a girlie thing to say, I know)

Going back to the gym today (although lugging things up the stairs for 5 hours and hurling them over my head into the dumpster  sure seemed as if I were at the gym the last few days) and then, the monthly BJs run (oh boy!) and then, my workout with the PT/MT and then, to Sherry Lynn's Gluten Free cafe. Yup, all G F all the time. I am so lucky to have her nearby and to call her my friend. I am trying to convince her she needs to open a franchise in Florida, Colorado, Kansas, Utah, California etc.........

Dinner tonight will be: whatever we do not finish for lunch. Her son gives us portions the size of Texas. And I hold him entirely responsible for my postDX weight gain (because I certainly did not shove those Boston cream  donuts, carrot cake cupcakes, cinnamon raisin bagels and almond cookies down my throat)

I have self-control.

late congrats, mw!!  i WISH i could get some of my family members (and even my friend, whose doc keeps her dx bouncing from lupus to rheumatoid arthritis to pre-diabeties) to at least TRY to remove gluten from their diet if not get tested.  even though they can SEE how much better i am!!!  so - i am very happy your mom is jumping on board :D

tonight is ski-lisa inspired teriyaki burgers with grilled pineapple

some kind of beet salad

and pot cheese if i know my husband.  and i do :)

Adalaide Mentor

Hubs is working tonight til 8 so we have a very small window to eat and get out of the house. Burgers and fries and out the door when he gets home. It may not be healthy, but it will get us through our night. I forgot to get up early to do errands before the middle of the day. Oops. I guess I can go this evening before dinner.

Last night I was standing in the kitchen in my bare feet covered in dirt. My shirt, my pants, my super dirty feet and I managed an epic belch. My husband was like way to be lady like. I just looked down at myself and and back at him and asked if I really look like a lady.

And there really is something magically special about being in the grass and dirt in bare feet. I don't think my husband understands because his mother probably never let him be outside barefoot after he was 9. :( I'm not sure he would find it wise to be out without shoes at this point which may be wise but is still sad.

Celiac Mindwarp Community Regular

Thanks for everyone's good wishes about my Mum. For what it is worth, I went for an approach of slow drip feed, transforming my health, and major emotional blackmail, when I told her as I couldn't get a diagnosis, but if she did, it might help if the kids ever needed it. Not proud, but desperate and happy.

Dinner is whatever goes out of date today.

When i was younger i always went barefoot. I learned how to run quickly across the dark road in 90 degree heat. When i moved, however, the area  i lived in was really rocky so i couldn't really do it.

Pasta tonight. Very little time on my hands.

Adalaide Mentor

Mothers have been emotionally blackmailing their children for untold centuries. Besides, in the words of every mother who has ever done this to her child... "its for your own good!"

Celiac Mindwarp Community Regular

Absolutely Addy!

I am in luck. Next out of date in the fridge is..... Steak :)

GottaSki Mentor

Skipped dinner for the past couple of nights...some sort of allergy type fun prevented normal life....am feeling a bit better after resting this morning so I think ill make something nice for the men....steak, oven fries and asparagus with some kind of desert.

High point from the past few days....on my biology field trip the other day I had the Professor's ear so I was teasing him a bit about there being no As in his class...I suggested that I didn't think his computer was calculating grades correctly .... and I was right!!! The formulas for weighting tests was wrong....everybody's grade went up 4-10%. The old chick in class is now the hero :)

IrishHeart Veteran

Old chicks rock! ;)  hope you feel better ASAP.

Making bison stuffed peppers, fresh green beans and sitting down after a week of more hard work and declaring it's "miller time". A startlingly cold bombay sapphire on the rocks with a few olives...ah, that's the ticket!

Histamine be damned.

Whew. All done. I even mowed the front lawn (which takes an hour) and I am feeling smug (despite banging my head on the half open garage door this morning--thanks dear hubs, I'm challenged enough without setting up land mines for me LOL ) and then, nearly poking my eye out with a tree branch as I ducked under the pin oak.

I should get hazard pay.

Adalaide Mentor

I rethought last night's plans. I forgot I had grabbed a pork loin at the store on sale so I just threw that in the oven for dinner. Tonight we'll do burgers because I'm subbing a night class and won't be home til about 9ish. I have no interest in anything that takes more effort than my counter grill and microwave tonight.

You should get extra credit for being generally awesome. B)

And most of us should get hazard pay just for getting out of bed.

Oh well, it's roasted tomatooniongarlicbasilthymedashofclove over jasmine brown rice for me.

Thank you for the welcome and reply. The first test was tissue transglutaminase IGA and it was normal. The second test just simply says IGA and it was 638. You definitely answered my question, it sounds like im negative for celiac since the 1st test was normal, and that another condition has caused the abnormal result of the IGA. That's exactly what I was wondering. Im almost positive I have MS and I've read results are higher like that with early onset. Or it could be IBS. Hopefully the visit with the neurologist will give me even more answers and point to a final diagnosis. I really appreciate you taking the time to reply and for helping. Thank you so much!

Welcome to the forum, @daniellelawson2011! First, we need to deal with terminology here. When you refer to the "ttg" test I take that to mean the ttg-iga. And when you refer to the "iga" test I take that to mean total iga since the magnitude of the score would suggest that. Total iga is not a test for celiac disease per se. It is run in order to check for iga deficiency. If you are iga deficient, then the ttg-iga and other iga tests that are specific for celiac disease will be abnormally low and this would potentially produce false negatives. You are not iga deficient but, rather, your total iga is abnormally high. This can suggest underlying health conditions, some of them can be serious in nature.  https://labs.selfdecode.com/blog/high-iga/ "High IgA usually points to chronic infections or inflammation, though many disorders can raise its levels. High IgA does not cause symptoms. People show symptoms from their underlying health problem." One thing I might add and that is you must have been eating normal amounts of gluten for weeks/months prior to the blood draw for antibody testing. Testing while on a gluten free or gluten reduced diet will not yield valid results. Also, here is a primer outlining the various antibody tests that can be ordered to check for celiac disease:

After struggling with many different symptoms for years with no diagnosis, I decided to do my own research and I stumbled upon an article about celiac disease. I asked my PCP to order a ttg and iga. The results: the iga was high at 638. The ttg was negative. Of course I will discuss with my doctor, but i would like to hear from people that have went through the process of diagnosis to maybe give me some insight on what this means and where to go from here. Also of note, i had a brain mri which showed white lesions which arent typical at 44 years old. I have many MS symptoms. I go to the neurologist on Tuesday, but just curious if anyone knows if there is a correlation between iga and MS. I appreciate any help! Thanks!

Thankyou so much for your reply I decided to skip the senna has I've already had very loose stools last few days I've cut my portions down on the low fiber diet too and drinking lots of liquid has I just thought it would be wise to listen to myself too I've probably already done wat the senna would of done myself naturally by drinking clear apple juice which if not on the diet I would have to avoid anyways has I don't tolerate many fruit juices so I'm sure I've done the right thing I did try to contact the department on my letter but weirdly enough it was ringing but then after a while saying wrong number 🤷 but again I'm positive I've done the right thing I'm going to take today very lightly too with low portions and more liquids so yes thankyou for that advise I am very nervous but I have had time to think and read other peoples experiences and not all are bad there is some good advise and reassuring information from people who do these all the time so I'm trying my best to be positive so I can at least settle my mind knowing im doing this to help my own health has this year has been a rollercoaster for me cutting out gluten and lactose was a good idea but I still get flare ups and other symptoms so it definitely is worth a check like you said it was the calprotein that prompted the doctor to refer me again thankyou for your reply it's means a lot for someone to take the time to listen and respond and give uplifting advise  especially to me just now has I'm a bundle of nerves inside getting closer to tomorrow prep so thankyou for that 🙏
