Yesterday I saw this bumper sticker: "Only speeding cause I have to poop!" It showed a poop picture too...I really had to laugh...since I've actually had to speed really fast one time before being diagnosed...because I had to poop!! It's healthy to laugh. :)

just one time?? Lucky girl indeed!

I know where all the bathrooms are within a 150 mile radius of my house.

ah, the good old days....

ok, I confess...I guess it's happened to me more than once when I really think about it! ha!!

Before (and now after a couple times when I get cc'ed) I have had to rush to get home. The problem is that before I got diagnosed I traveled strictly by subway. And you can't make those go any faster. They really should be required to have bathrooms at all subway stations. When things were really bad before diagnosis and I had days where I got D I would take cabs home from work for fear of the subway breaking down and not being able to get off and find a bathroom.

Haha, I need to get one for my husband! He has no diagnosed issues, just has a sensitive stomach to greasy foods. I am pretty sure he has played the speeding game several times!

Hilarious!! Before I was dx'ed, I actually developed agoraphobia because of an intense fear that I would have to poo and I wouldn't find a bathroom in time. We didn't eat out for 2 years (it usually hit me after a meal)!

Anyway, I found the bumper sticker online....

But if you're out walking the dog you can't speed  I actually went tp someone's door, asked if I could tie my dog to her fence post and use the bathroom because I was not going to make it home. I think she was afraid it was a home invasion or something but the desperate look on my face must hve convinced her.

Before DX, I had a few such emergencies. Many times, I found myself with my key in the lock, praying I would get inside fast enough.

When I was still teaching, I had to leave the room a few times, using the guise of "Break into groups and discuss (fill in the blank)..."

And the absolute worse case scenario arose twice:

We only have one bathroom. Occupied.

Hmm...omygosh, whatamIgonna do????....think think....

A lined wastebasket.

and the ever-popular--

Outside (fortunately we live in the remote countryside....)

Cannot tell you how happy I am to no longer suffer such indignities. :)

That is so great! Many times I have wondered if I could get out of a speeding ticket if I got pulled over during those times. Then again the true fear of getting pulled over was the delay, not so much the ticket.

Oats naturally contain a protein called avenin, which is similar to the gluten proteins found in wheat, barley, and rye. While avenin is generally considered safe for most people with celiac disease, some individuals, around 5-10% of celiacs, may also have sensitivity to avenin, leading to symptoms similar to gluten exposure. You may fall into this category, and eliminating them is the best way to figure this out. Some people substitute gluten-free quinoa flakes for oats if they want a hot cereal substitute. If you are interested in summaries of scientific publications on the topic of oats and celiac disease, we have an entire category dedicated to it which is here: https://www.celiac.com/celiac-disease/oats-and-celiac-disease-are-they-gluten-free/
