Would You Eat This? (Paranoid Cc Question)

I know this is totally paranoid but my anxiety seems to be getting the best of me today and I just want to make sure this is okay: In the refrigerator drawer there is a bag with a head of romaine lettuce. The bag has some little air holes and the top of the bag was just twisted closed, not sealed. On top of the bag was a package of flour tortillas. The bag were closed but had been opened before. As long as the person who handled the tortillas didn't actually touch the lettuce after touching the tortillas, it should be fine to eat the lettuce, right? Or would the outside of the tortilla bag be loaded with flour remains from processing that could get into the unsealed lettuce bag? I know I probably sound so crazy right now but please just humor me and let me know if you would eat the lettuce in this situation? Thanks so much.

I preface this by saying I am not a super sensitive, but I would think if you washed off the outside of the lettuce bag, removed the head of lettuce and took off all the outside leaves, and then washed the lettuce as usual you would probably be reasonably safe. I would eat it - you may not.

I would remove the outer lettuce leaves and use the rest. :)

I'm paranoid, and I second Patti. No need to toss the whole thing, just the leaves that touched the tortilla bag.

I'll add a third to Patti's post.

Remove outer leaves and store in another, zip lock bag and enjoy.

I am very sensitive and I echo Mushroom's and Patti's suggestions.

No need to toss the entire head of lettuce.

Take off the outer leaves (which I would do anyway ---as I often get lettuce from local farms and they often use cow poop for fertilizer  )

....wash and enjoy!

I would not eat the lettuce. But then again I would not have flour tortillas in my fridge ( or my home)

This treatment looks promising. Its aim is to provoke immune tolerance of gluten, possibly curing the disease. It passed the phase 2 trial with flying colours, and I came across a post on Reddit by one of the study volunteers. Apparently, the results were good enough that the company is applying for fast track approval.  Anokion Announces Positive Symptom Data from its Phase 2 Trial Evaluating KAN-101 for the Treatment of Celiac Disease https://www.reddit.com/r/Celiac/comments/1krx2wh/kan_101_trial_put_on_hold/

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.
