  1. I'd love a list, I tried to PM u but it wouldn't send. Could u send me one? Jollyrogerlove@tmail.com is my e-mail. Thanx thanx thanx
  2. My mom brought up an interesting point. I've been to 10 doctors (including 1 GI). All of whom missed the diagnosis. She said I should write to them telling them what was wrong with me. Would they be receptive to that? I obviously have to wait until I'm not as MAD as I am now, but at some point, should I tell them that it wasn't in my head, that they...
  3. I saw it too. I'm glad he said wheat was a common allergen. Something at least. I did e-mail him tho. Anyone know how I can write to oprah? I can't see her website as I'm on a sidekick (like a cell phone thing) not a computer (I don't have a computer). Thanks. I feel so bad for that woman, she's out there tonight, still suffering, still undiagnosed. Arg...
  4. I know what u mean! It's been about 6 weeks for me. I have a bad cold and I feel better now than I have in years!! It's hard to rest and get healthy when I feel better than my "normal". Yay!
  5. Just wanted to add, test results mean little to nothing! My blood tests came back positive. I'm not doing the endoscopy (I have sleep apnea, I feel it's too risky), but my diatery response has been amazing. My husband went gluten free with me and HE feels amazing. He's chosen not to get the any testing cause he'd have to go back on gluten and he's not...
  6. I TOTALLY believe in massage therapy and stuff. I've never been to a chiropracter (maybe when I get my medical bills paid off......), but I try to get a massage whenever I can. My husband's co-worker is also a massage therapist. He gifted me a massage about a year ago. She has helped me more than any doctor! Every time I get one, I leave feeling MUCH...

    ARCHIVED Favorite Sports

I didn't vote. I don't really like competitive sports. What I really love is to go trail riding! My mom and I will take our horses to the BEAUTIFUL state parks here in oregon. Years ago, I trained my horse in jumping, dressage, gaming, and just about everything else we could find to do. When I got sick he was (and still is) most of my physical activity...
  8. I don't think I was misdiagnosed, more like dismissed. I've been to 10 doctors in 6 years (I'm 22yrs old), including a GI (gastrointerologist) and a sleep specialist. Most of them either said I was "fine", or said it was a "mental problem". I went to a psychaitric nurse practitioner and 5 different therapists. I was dxed with everything from borderline...
  9. Have you had a sleep study done? They are irritating and quite un-fun, but it's worth a shot. I have obstructive sleep apnea as well which was discovered first. I would do the blood tests first (as they are less suckey), but if ur sleeping that much it could give u some answers (if nothing else does). Just thought I'd throw that out there. Hope...
  10. My gut (no pun intended) tells me that you are being taken advantage of. $450/month is rediculous. I'm all for supplements (provided they are gluten free ofc), but that is just too much!! And yes, this is overwhelming!! You certanly aren't alone! Don't worry too much, it's impossible to NEVER get glutoned. It takes everyone a while to get used to...
  11. I've been overweight since this started (6 years ago), but after going gluten free (1 month now yay!) I've lost 15lbs. And suddenly I'm famished. I had lost my sense of hunger, and I think it's back, with avengance. I'm back to a normal number of calories. I eat a TON of vegis and fruit, good protien, some rice/pasta (gluten-free of course!), and the...
  12. I just wanted to say how sorry I am that ur husband is responding this way. The fact that he CHOOSES to hurt u this wayreally sux. He is being hurtful because he chooses to. I can't tell u to leave or stay, but he needs a serious wake up call. Tell him point blank, you are NOT exaggerating, he is making the situation WORSE, and it's not your FAULT. He...
  13. I just found out that the tater tots that my husband bought are NOT gluten free. I thought I was feeling so crappy because of my cpap not working (I also have sleep apnea). But it may be the tots we had!! I'm so frustrated at myself, aparently I need to read all the labels wether or not he reads them. Honest mistake I know, but I'm just so frustrated at...
  14. Do u2 use the same sponge to clean the dishes?? U may have already thought of it, but I just thought I'd throw that out there
  15. I'm notorious for bringing food with me. Even before I discovered celiac. I always keep at least 1 "zone" bar with me. It tastes yummy and it tides me over till I can get actual food. I keep nonperishables stashed in my car, and usually have some fruit with me too. The local grocery store sells these instant nukeable thai food things, I stash them everywhere...
  16. First of all, you are not crazy!!! I was diagnosed bipolar and borderline personality disorder. It wasn't until I went to a therapy program (specializing in bpd) that anyone (other than my husband) believed that anything physical was wrong!! The therapist helped a ton, but said that my problem wasn't that I was "crazy" but that I had a physical problem that...
  17. I went to a bookstore today, asked if they had any "gluten free cookbooks"..... She pointed me to the diabetic cookbook section. Before I could further explain, she just walked away. Once at a thai food place, after I tried to explain, the waitress took the menu from my hand, pointed to the "no MSG added" on the front, and looked at me like I was a moron...
  18. So how do u know if u have adrenal fatigue and can one do anything about it?? I found that ya'll are smarter/more experienced/ better informed than my gp.......... So it seems more effective to ask ya'll than pay to get brushed off by him!! Thanx thanx! So how do u know if u have adrenal fatigue and can one do anything about it?? I found that ya'll...
  19. Ur post made me tear up so much!! My husband (who's name is also ryan) went gluten free with me, and the D and abdominal cramping he'd had his whole life cleared up. His mom fed him goat's milk as an infant as he was "allergic" to milk and formula. His mom (a terrible mother, but that's another story) said he'd just throw up everything but goats milk. He...
  20. I would say first, check to make SURE ur not being glutened. But also, check for other problems. I have sleep apnea as well, the test (a sleep study) is uncomfortable, but if u have a sleep problem, you could be not getting enough good sleep which makes u exhausted and more sleepy. Sleep apnea can lead to high blood pressure, heart attacks, stroke etc not...
  21. I'm the "Q" lol. I ID as queer, and am married to a man. Looooooooong story. I dunno if this is thr right/wrong room. It doesn't matter to me. Welcome!!
  22. OREOS!!! I miss oreos like crazy!!! I'm still looking for a decent replacement. Going crazy for it. Oreo's were my favorite junk food!! Didn't get them very often, but I miss them terribly!!
  23. As a gluten-free veteran of 1 whole month, I would add to allow MUCH extra time at the grocery store (at least at first). And don't forget a little junk food. Those first few weeks would have been MUCH harder w/o dorritos. Not a TON of junk, but just a few tidbits to make u feel less deprived. Remember that u have the RIGHT to be healthy and that u have...
  24. I keep seeing these letters. DD, DH, DS etc. What do they mean? Sorry I'm just a little lost......
  25. I'm so glad ya'll agree!! My doc has already check thyroid, diabetes etc. I've never been checked for lyme disease, but I am like 99.99% sure ticks don't live in the willamette valley. Never heard of them living here. Anyway, I'm 22, so my insurance won't cover a bone scan for a few years.... But I take a daily multi+calcium. And I get a ton of random...
