  1. I guess I'm extroverted: I was posting my first day on the forum. It is an excellent source for reading and learning!
  2. YYYAAAYYY!!!
  3. I take the ??? to mean add seasoning to your taste, and use enough water to make it a dough ball. If you use different flours, it will take different amounts of water.
  4. Ok, very interesting!
  5. I haven't voted yet because I don't know how to vote. My doctor said my blood sugar levels are normal, but my insulin levels are high. Then she told me to lose weight. Period. Nothing else, no guidance on what and when to eat, or how I would feel if I needed to do something. I don't know if it hypo, hyper, or borderline glycemic. Is it any surprise...
  6. Thank you! I jsut sent in my email!
  7. Dry rubs are delicious!
  8. Get the full panel run. If your mom has celiac disease, then there is a good chance that you are at the least a carrier (have >you< been tested?) and that your daughter might have it.
  9. I don't understand why it's not working. It's what I did to get the avatar I have. I don't want to have to host on a url to get my avatar!
  10. I want to change mine, but I keep getting a message that upload failed, and contact the admin. The pixel and kb size is small enough, and it is jpg. I will try again tomorrow.
  11. Mine was removed laparoscopically. I have 5 small incision scars. The biggest one took 5 stitches, and is in my bellybutton. The smallest two had one stitch each. The only one I can really see now is the one in my belly button.
  12. >heeheehee!< ! Sex: female Age: 40 Date started gluten free diet: Feb 14, 2004 Suffer from the following on a regular basis since starting treatment: Constipation-no Diarrhoea-no Abdominal pain-yes, but caused by gallbladder/liver problems Indigestion-no Acid reflux-no Other related problems-
  13. If you want that sub or hamburger, and don't want to eat it with a fork and knife, wrap it in wax paper! I just stack my ingredients on the wax paper, wrap it, fold back the end, and eat it just like I would have if it had a bun on it.
  14. I use Pantene shampoo and conditioner. It works great in my curly hair.
  15. Does anyone know how to process oats? I'm thinking of growing a few in a bucket to test my own reaction to oats. I am afraid to eat the storebought oats, but if I grow and harvest my own, there will be no wheat in them. Then I would know for sure!

    ARCHIVED Grrrr....

I have been asked, "Why don't you just go get the shots so you can eat it?" "I had a co-worker actually say to me that she wished she could get celiac disease for a little while just to slim down." HAH! ! I didn't lose weight, neither did my sisters. We just kept getting fatter and fatter, even on 1500 cals a day! It is >not< a guaranteed...
  17. Some day, I am going to have all of my teeth pulled, then get the whitest dentures I can find!
  18. Since many of us have more than one doctor, how much does that multiply our risk? Almost too scary to contemplate!
  19. Since celiac is more common than originally thought, it is very possible that your wife has it, too. She should stay on gluten, and get tested. It does sound like she had a dietary reaction to the wheat!
  20. Good game for beginners. It is a start on teaching folks to read the labels! I got 100%, by the way!

    ARCHIVED Grrrr....

I have enjoyed reading this! I feel so "unalone"!
  22. I eat Malt-O-Meal corn bursts with no problems, but I hear they will be changing the ingredients soon. Malt-O-Meal is the brand name, as well as the name of one of their cereals.
  23. >sigh< No dessert at Wendy's now. Thinking about it just makes me so angry!
  24. I get a rash whenever I use anything on my skin that contains wheat. If it does not bother you, and you do not chew your hair, then I don't see why you couldn't use it.
  25. Sorry, Jenvan. That one I have never heard of. Anyone else?
