  1. I am assuming that anything but that one product has gluten in it somewhere. I did a ton of reading on old posts about lotions and decided to try the Kiss My Face Olive Oil soap and coconut oil and what an amazing difference already. For the first time in weeks my skin doesn't hurt. I will keep that lotion in mind though, once the weather gets hot again...
  2. My husband found this on CnnSI today and fowarded it to me. It seems like Drew Brees is gluten (amongst other things) intollerent. He should come and join us here on the message board!! BREES'S DIET: DOs-'N'-DON'Ts Brees's long list of food allergies includes dairy, wheat, gluten, eggs and nuts. "If I stayed away from everything I'm allergic to, I...
  3. Thanks for the link Deb! I have not been on the message board as frequently as usual and I had missed that post. It sounds to at least be a step in the right direction!
  4. I have run across several people in the last few years that have proudly proclaimed to me that they were on a gluten free diet by choice. Most of those were in health food stores or food co-ops and claimed that they feel better, less sluggish when they eliminate gluten from their lives. I don't disagree with that as my family seems to respond the same way...
  5. BOTH of those stories had me cracking up!!! Thanks for the laugh this morning, I will make sure to share the stories with my husband and kids, they will get a kick out of it too. Especially my middle child. He used to think it was funny to pop those "things" he found in the bathroom out of the applicator (like a rocket of course) into a sink full of water...
  6. I have been a bit confused about the new labeling laws. I'm thrilled that Wheat must be labeled as an allergen but does that mean the company has done the research on all of the ingredients (such as source of modified food starch) or just obvious sources of wheat? I guess after years of reading labels and those certain ingredients sending off warning bells...
  7. I have some frozen stuff right now that I haven't tried yet. I am not a fan of the mix (cheese bread) but I do like the cinnamon one. I made some rolls out of it and they were really good....then again anything with a bunch of butter and brown sugar is bound to be good!
  8. If your DH is really bad, it may take a while to clear up. I know I first noticed less spots but it did take quite a while to heal all the way. I still get occasional spots here and there but NOTHING like what it was before. Hang in there, it will get better with time, I know how awful it can be!
  9. I don't have specific answers for you but read those labels. I have found that anything "volumizing" tends to be wheat filled. I use aquage products with no problem and no gluten that I'm aware of. I can tell you that I've had problems with Oil of Olay stuff and my DH breaks out every time I use it. Good luck, I feel your pain. I will never foget the...

    ARCHIVED Coffee

I had a horrible time with Halls. My seasonal allergies were driving me nuts and I seemed to have one in my mouth all the time. At the same time I had all the symptoms of a major glutening and I finally put the two together. I emailed the company about Halls and they claim all are gluten free HOWEVER, my Clan Thompson list says only the sugar free ones...
  11. Stupid Pizza...its seems to get so many of us. It is the one thing that will just about bring me to my gluten free knees. I feel your pain, but good for you for resisting it!
  12. I have never noticed a break out especially at that time of the month. I am on the pill and I wonder if that has anything to do with it... the hormone levels are a little more controlled. I'll have to let you know when I go off of them once and for all in a month or so!
  13. Its so very nice to hear a story of recovery. I am very happy for you!!!
  14. I really hope you are feeling better soon! Stick with it and check here often. There are so many knowledgeable and helpful people here. Also don't forget to check out the sections for recipes and gluten free "normal" foods that you can buy at the commissary. If you check with the manager they may be able to provide you a list of items that they stock...
  15. Thanks for the product info on the Bumble & Bumble, I am thinking that is a product that my salon doesn't stock. Sorry for the false alarm!!
  16. I just received this from the makers of Cetaphil this morning. As I was scanning through previous posts about lotions I came across one that stated Cetaphil is safe. Sadly is doesn't seem to be the case. Only the Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser is gluten-free. I hope you find this information helpful. Drug Safety Officer Galderma Laboratories...
  17. You may want to recheck your Bumble & Bumble products...when I looked they all had wheat in them.
  18. You have my thoughts and prayers! Get well soon!!!!
  19. Oh Nantzie I feel your pain! I am so tired of food and it consuming so much of my life I could just scream! I miss the days of grilled cheese and chicken noodle soup for dinner which I know I could still make but it just isn't the same. I am even more sick of asking for dinner suggestions and getting an "I don't care" in return. There just always seems...
  20. How funny to find this string...last weekend I was DYING for PF Changs. We ordered the kids some pizza and headed out. I felt like a teenager on her first date. So we get there only to find a 2 1/2 hour wait. Needless to say we ate elsewhere but my craving is still out of control, lol. Reading this just made me even hungrier for it. Maybe I'll make...
  21. One of my favorite Christmas memories was sneaking down the stairs in the middle of the night to see if Santa had come. My mom would leave the tree lit on Christmas Eve and it always looked so amazingly beautiful in the big dark room. It never mattered how many gifts were under the tree because the beauty of it always took my breath away. Then I'd creep...
  22. I'm sure this has been posted a million times, but I need a skin care system that is safe. I had a line I was using but it is not readily available to me since I recently moved. I would prefer something with an anti-aging line thanks to all those years of Panama Jack in the 80's but at this point I'm desperate for anything. I have DH as well and just for...
  23. The cinnamon-raisin bread is to die for as well. It makes the best toast, something I've missed terribly. I stood in the frozen food section for about 20 minutes trying to decide if I wanted to spend that much money on a loaf of bread I figured I was most likely going to pitch but what a nice suprise. I have found Glutino products to be really good for...
  24. My new favorite is Pamelas pancake mix. I just mix up as directed for pancakes and then add either more water or more mix to get the consistancy I want. FYI it makes the most heavenly onion rings!! My kids have sworn off of regular flour for breading or batter...they have said mine is much better! Yippee!!! The celiacs score on this one!
