  1. This has been discussed before, but yes, people do test negative. Of course, here on this site, it make perfect sense that most people would test positive. People without celiacs are unlikely to spend much time here, and I would agree that Enterolab seems to have the highest percentage of positive answers. Geoff
  2. Well, congratulations on coming to Davis. I've really enjoyed it here. I actually graduate Saturday, but will be around for a while after that, I live in the area and will be doing some work at the school. I'm not a vegan, so I'm not an expert on that. There is a gluten-free bakery in Davis, but I'm not sure how much of their stuff would be gluten...
  3. I used to eat at the Plutos in Davis all the time, but have stopped since going gluten free. The way they make their salads there seems ot be a very high risk of Cross contamination. And when I asked about other items, they didn't seem very helpful. Sad, because I really liked their food. Are you going to school in Santa Rosa? Geoff
  4. I used to fly as a kid all the time, for the same reason (divorced parents). I loved it. It always was big adventure for me. Direct flights would be a good idea.
  5. Does Jimboys have a gluten-free menu? GEoff
  6. What brand/style was it? Was it the Whole Foods bakehouse brand? Or something else? The WF brand stuff is one of the better ones I've found. That said, I really just don't eat bread that much anymore.... I like the Brown Rice Tortillas. I do a lot more wraps than sandwhiches. Geoff
  7. My mom and Grandma are in town for a few days to help celebrate my graduation, and we'll be heading into San Fran friday. Grandma wants to take us out for a really nice lunch, so I'm looking for recomendations for a nice meal Friday. Obviously gluten-free, and grandma doesn't really eat seafood. We'll be downtown, near all the main touristy stuff...
  8. Remember, if it's gluten that is a problem, wheat avoidence isn't sufficient. Wheat is perhaps the most common source of gluten, but gluten is found in other things too. Check out the Safe/Not Safe ingredient lists on this site. Geoff
  9. Was that for posting your avatar? I'm looking to post a picture in the body of my post. I can do it in other forums, and this one appears to have the button to create the link, but the picture just shows as a link, not as a picture.. Oh well, I guess I'll just post elsewhere and link to it. Geoff
  10. I had symptoms starting in college (18-19) and was not diagnosed until 31. I was diagnosed "officially" but I remembering saying to my doctor, "you know, I feel so much better off gluten that you'll have to come up witha pretty convincing reason to start eating it again." Dietary response is a solid test. If your feet hurt, and you realize it's...
  11. Does embedding a picture not work on this forum? There seems to be a button for it, but it doesn't seem to work. Any hints? I was going to post some pictures of recipe I made tonight. Any hints?
  12. Ryan, When I get glutened, I get really anxious. I freak out about all kinds of things, more worried than angry, but irrational. I don't think it was symptom, but all my symptoms have gotten dramatically stronger since going gluten free. Geoff
  13. I tested negative for Casein with enterolab, but had convinced myself I was Lactose intolerant. Over the last few days, I didn't have hardly any dairy (not really intentional, but I was on a trip). I felt pretty damn good. This morning a poured a bowl a cereal, and my lactaid milk. 10 minutes later I had to go to the bathroom. and it wasn't pretty...
  14. Shoot. Wish I'd seen that before I ordered all the boxes I ordered last night! Oh well. Geoff
  15. I think there are King Soopers in Southern California, but I'm not aware of them around here. (Sacramento). I'll have to keep my eyes open. Geoff
  16. Really? Wow. If I saw them 10 for 10, I'd buy everyone they had in stock! I normally end up paying about a buck fifty. Geoff
  17. Me. I was negative on the blood test, but the biopsy showed damage even after having eaten gluten free for 4-6 weeks before biopsy. (no one told me that I needed to keep eating gluten) Geoff
  18. Cashew Cookie and Cherry Pie are my faves. But I ordered 7 boxes last night, so I'm committed to liking them! Geoff
  19. Yup. I will walk and be hooded. My wife will hood me, my mom and grandma (all the way from england!) will be in the audience. I'm going to send you a PM, since I'm interested in teaching too. Geoff
  20. This is a good price on Lara Bars. I just wish they made a "sampler" box. Open Original Shared Link I have no association with Vitacost, just saw this and hope it's OK to post. Geoff
  21. I love the spinach one. Eat it all the time. Geoff
  22. Where are you? I bet someone can recomend a gluten-free restaurant nearby. I hear the Outback flourless cake is awesome. I just had a great gluten-free brownie. I get way sick with accidental gluten, no temptation to cheat.
  23. Sorry to hear about your tree. We lost a gorgeous Japenese maple recently. It bummed me out. Geoff
  24. JanelyB, Is the sauce on the protein style burger gluten free? I've been getting mine without sauce. Geoff
  25. Dang. I was just in Cameron Park the other day. JanelyB, what was the celiac event? (I'm in Sacramento)
