This is not my recipe but I love it! Open Original Shared Link I also used to make this quite a bit, prior to learning of my dairy allergy. Open Original Shared Link I didn't use the pancetta though.

ARCHIVED Lunch Ideas - 1 Year Old
Juliebove replied to Collinsmom's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Well, the good thing is... Most one year olds don't eat too much! I always try to have a serving leftover from dinner for my daughter's lunch. Doesn't always work out that way though. Can you get Ricera yogurt where you are at? We just got a case of the strawberry and she likes it. She poured it out in a bowl and sprinkled some cereal on it... -

In WA state you can not bring in your own food. It's a health code violation. However, people do bring in baby food and baby's bottles and I never see anyone complain about that. I've made several cross country moves and I've seen more and more people bringing their own food to eat in the breakfast area. I once saw a family make a meal out of canned... -

That stuff is made of soy and we can't have soy. -
Yes they are.

ARCHIVED Question About Potatoes & Joint Pain
Juliebove replied to rock on's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
It's not just white potatoes. It's nightshades. That includes all potatoes, eggplant, tomatoes, peppers and probably some other things I'm forgetting about. That being said, nightshades do not affect all people with arthritis. I have psoriatic arthritis and am not affected by them. My mom has rhuematoid arthritis and is affected. -
Thanks!

I read about this elsewhere on this forum. I'll be danged if I can find the thread now though. I finally found some at QFC. It seems they are the only store in the Seattle area that sells it. It was on sale too. Bought two bottles, one for the big fridge and one for daughter's little fridge. It tasted just fine. Like butter. But it did leave...

ARCHIVED New Vegan Rice Cheese.
Juliebove replied to Juliebove's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I'm thinking nachos. I do like the Nacho Chreese dip, but I fondly remember a big platter of nachos with beans, maybe some taco meat, olives, onions and tomatoes on top. Perhaps mixed in with all the other stuff it might be cheesier? Oh I can't wait for mine to come in. My health food store is ordering it for me along with some Ricera yogurt! -
ARCHIVED Quinoa Pasta
Juliebove replied to Juliebove's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Heh! I don't like chipotles either. Odd because I do like hot peppers. The brand of pasta I bought is Andean Naturals. I bought it at my health food store. They get it in bulk and bag it themselves. Here's a link to their website. Open Original Shared Link I know they do ship things, but I'm not sure if that applies to food or just supplements... -
ARCHIVED Fall Food Questions
Juliebove replied to amberleigh's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
The caramel apples and cappucino should be safe, but I can't say for sure since I have a dairy allergy and don't eat those things. For Thanksgiving, my brother's family and mine meet at my parent's house. My mom cooks some of the food and we bring some other things. Several of us have assorted food allergies so we are very careful what we make. Two... -
ARCHIVED Food For Life Breads
Juliebove replied to Glutenfreefamily's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I think perhaps many of the loaves I've bought are really old. That might be why they crumble so easily. I don't think they are very hot sellers here. I buy some from my health food store. They're a small store and don't necessarily get a lot of traffic. I bought a couple of loaves that were marked down to next to nothing at one of the local groceries... -
ARCHIVED Food For Life Breads

The only one my daughter didn't like was some kind of almond bread. She said it was just horrid. My mom then tried a bite of it, spit it out and threw the whole loaf in the trash. -
ARCHIVED Food For Life Breads

All of their breads that we've tried have stick together. I think it's because they are sweetned with fruit juice. I'm not sure that this would be anything like stollen. But I've never had it, so I can't say for sure. -
ARCHIVED Eureka! I Found The Perfect Bread Mix!
Juliebove replied to jerseygrl's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
It says gluten free, but... They actually do use barley to remove the outside of the rice. The older cartons say it is not gluten free. The only way they can get away with claiming it is gluten free now is that there is such a small percentage of gluten left in the milk, they do not need to claim it. This subject has been brought up repeatedly here on... -
I know what you mean. I just wish other companies would come out with single serve milk. I haven't seen any others.

ARCHIVED Quinoa Pasta

We had the Ancient Harvest brand last night. It was okay but I think I prefer the plain corn or plain quinoa for some reason. I also love the Imagine tomato soup. Yum! -
ARCHIVED Food For Life Breads
Juliebove replied to Glutenfreefamily's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
My daughter loves the one with the fruit and seeds in it. The only problem I have is that the slices tend to stick together. I am lucky to get 1/2 of the loaf in intact slices. What I do is thaw it out just enough to get as many slices apart as I can, then I put them in 2 slice packets in sandwich bags, back into the same bag it came out of and refreeze... -
I was mistaken. Went to a website for a product with a similar name.

I haven't tried it yet but my health food store is ordering it for me. Here's a link: Open Original Shared Link I did try their other rice cheese and it tastes great but it contains casein and I'm allergic.

ARCHIVED Quick And Easy Recipes

I don't know the difference between those broths. I just know we can't eat them. There is something my daughter is allergic to in there. Soy? Maybe. We buy Imagine or Pacific brand. One thing my family likes is Hormel Beef Au Jus. Instead of preparing it as directed, I dump it out in a large skillet, break it up in pieces and heat through. In the... -
ARCHIVED How Do You Store Your gluten-free Baking Supplies?
Juliebove replied to maddycat's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I know what you mean. I don't have room in the fridge or freezer for much either. Some things do need to be refrigerated. I refrigerate my yeast and flax. The rest goes in the cupboard but I have had to try to cut waaaay back on what I buy. Rather than buying assorted flours, I buy one package of four flour mix. This works for most things. I also have... -
ARCHIVED How "protective" Are You
Juliebove replied to vanillazeis's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
My daughter has allergies to wheat and gluten so not exactly the same as celiac. But I am still careful. In a restaurant, there are certain things I would not let her order unless I were certain they were safe. Grilled chicken is one of them. I've seen too much frozen or otherwise pre-made grilled chicken that contains either wheat or one of her other... -

Sorry. This is the website I saw: Open Original Shared Link Different product apparently. But similar name.
