  1. Franceen, that is the coolest looking cat!
  2. Well, they sure do LOOK good. But if they don't taste good... Hmmm... And I wonder how much the shipping would be?
  3. I don't have a solution for you. Just wanted you to know I have the same problem. I thought it was because we can't use eggs or milk. I did once get a faux rye bread that came out really well, but it never worked again. The only kind I can do with success is zucchini bread. I once bought some gluten-free bread from a local bakery and although it did...
  4. Daughter and I had the RAST test done. We have actual allergies and not just an intolerance.
  5. I just use a peeler for stuff like that. It doesn't produce the best looking results, but it's one more kitchen device I don't have to buy.
  6. I guess it would depend on what all you plan to make. I don't do a lot of baking. I keep a four flour mix, sweet rice flour, brown rice flour, white rice flour, cornstarch, corn meal, and occasionally buy other flours as needed. I never use coconut milk. I sometimes use rice milk or Vance's Dari Replacer. Sometims plan water will work. As for...
  7. This is the recipe I used. We can't have milk so we used mashed potatoes. Also used either egg replacer for the eggs. The recipe doesn't call for chicken, but I added cooked chicken to the soup. It was very good! Open Original Shared Link
  8. Always chafe me very badly. I can't keep one of those on for more than 5 minutes. I fail to see how they can be the best selling pad. But I've been told they are.
  9. I don't have a Whole Foods near me so I don't know what all they carry. It's posible you may need to buy some foods online or from another source. Is there a health food store near you that will order things for you? Mine is really good to do that. You can order foods from this very website, and there are many other places. I order breads from Ener...
  10. I just use powdered vanilla. I know it is gluten free.
  11. I would still avoid lactose if I had a milk allergy, which I do.
  12. I got a dehydrator a couple of years ago.
  13. Popcorn in and of itself should be fine, provided you don't add any sort of flavored seasoning to it. Some of those might contain gluten. However you might have cross contamination issues. What if someone was handling bread or hot dog buns and then scooped up popcorn? Chances are they wouldn't actually touch the popcorn with their hands, but I suppose...
  14. I will never again buy this stuff. I vowed never to do it and I caved in when my daughter begged for it. She wanted the single serve boxes for her lunch. I bought one 3-pack. Saw no gluten warnings. She drank it. She was fine. She wanted more. I bought 3 more 3-packs. Wish I hadn't. I didn't notice the warnings that said less then 0.002% gluten...
  15. You can make them with rice milk, but they don't have a lot of flavor. If you can get some Smart Squeeze, you can add that for a good buttery flavor! It's a liquid margarine made by Smart Balance. Contains no dairy or soy! Another way to make them is with broth. I boil them as usual, then drain off most of the liquid. I save some in case I need...
  16. I'd heard of it but didn't really know what it was. Thanks!
  17. This is true. I am old enough that I remember when they first came out with them. They were advertised as something we needed every day to feel fresh. So I bought them, thinking I needed them. Oddly, I didn't have a prolific dishcharge before I started using the liners, but after I started using them, I had a discharge all the time. It was so bad that...
  18. I've never made a turkey from scratch, so I can't help you with that. I'm pretty sure most if not all of the broth you buy would have onions and maybe garlic in it. You can mash potatoes with rice milk, but they haven't got much flavor to them. Can you get Smart Beat liquid where you are at? It's a dairy free butter flavored thing. Made by Smart...
  19. Thanks! Maybe they are made differently.
  20. I guess I should have said that my daughter isn't celiac. She has allergies to wheat and gluten and she will get a rash if she comes into contact with them. This is why I was so worried.
  21. I don't feel guilty that my daughter got food allergies from me. However... I didn't find out about MY food allergies until I learned of hers and my mom's! I also didn't learn that I had diabetes until after I was pregnant. Didn't even know it ran in the family. Had I known all this stuff before, I doubt I would have had children.
  22. I get Quinoa pasta from my health food store. They do ship things so if you can't find it where you're at, you might try calling or writing to them. Here's a link to their website. Open Original Shared Link Be sure to tell them you want the 100% Quinoa because they also sell a blend.
  23. Look for Smart Beat fat free margarine. It comes in a squeeze bottle. No dairy in it at all and soy free too. It would also be a good idea to keep some food in the house that doesn't have to be cooked so you have something to eat.
  24. Are any of these gluten free? I ask because I bought some Seventh Generation pads for myself. I don't have gluten issues, but I was reading on the package that they are made from something derived from wheat. I mentioned this to a friend who said that the stuff they are made of sounds like the standard stuff all pads are made of. So that got me thinking...
  25. I have four different Raw books. Alissa's is the only one I use on a regular basis. She explains things very well.
