  1. I might be wrong on the Bragg's. Daughter can't have soy. Perhaps it's soy it contains and not gluten. Anyway... In recipes, I just sub in some Celtic sea salt to taste.
  2. I tried the raw diet. Although I prefer to eat mostly raw foods, I have gastroparesis so I can't always eat this way. I am not the one with the gluten issue though. My daughter is. You do have to be careful with a raw diet because some of the ingredients like Miso and Nama Shoyu or Braggs can contain gluten.
  3. I have seen honey mustard with wheat in it. I think it was the Hickory Farms brand.
  4. I wonder if the wheat is a fairly new thing? Or if they've always used wheat but only declared it with the new labeling laws? My daughter used to eat these and seemed to have no problems. Then one day I bought her a package. She ate one and had a nosebleed. She ate another one and had a nosebleed. Then my mom found the pack in the car. She held...
  5. Can you eat eggs? Nuts and seeds? I eat chia seeds for protein. You put 1/3 of a cup of them in 2 cups of water. Stir them up and let them sit in the fridge overnight. Eat the gel as is or mix in a smoothie. You can make a dairy free smoothie in the blender with a soft banana, a couple of ounces of chia seeds and enough fruit juice to thin down. ...
  6. Always check the labels. All are safe right now, but they frequently change the formulas.
  7. Aw phooey. I hadn't thought about soy. Daughter is allergic to that. I've been using rice cheese for pizza.
  8. Do you know if the pizza is egg free as well? I think the French toast sticks are, but I haven't seen it for real. Just on the website.
  9. Thanks! I just ordered some. Now I hope it comes by Thanksgiving!
  10. My daughter likes it okay but prefers the rice starch loaf. She hasn't much choice given her food allergies. She likes the bread toasted and topped with faux butter (allergic to the real stuff), cinnamon and sugar.
  11. You can buy bags of mixed flour. That's usually what I do. Would LOVE it if I could find a Pierogi recipe, but it would also have to be dairy and egg free.
  12. My daughter took fruit snacks last year. The kids liked them. Pencils are another good thing. Kids can always use those. Get whimsical ones.
  13. I like their chocolate chips. Daughter likes all of the cookies except the no oats oatmeal. We served the Gingerbread and Double Chocolate Brownies at her birthday party last year and everyone likes them. The Lively Lemon go over well with my family. So do the Snickerdoodles. Yes, they're expensive but I like the 2 packs. I often put these in daughter...
  14. Daughter doesn't like it but... She's 9 and likes the sweet cereals.
  15. Yep. I don't have a gluten issue, but if I did, I wouldn't make a sandwich on wheat bread for anyone. Daughter has issues with gluten. If my husband wants a sandwich, we buy his sandwich already made up and it is kept in a separate refrigerator from her food.
  16. We make oven fries at home. There are organic brands you can buy that are gluten free. Or you can cut up your own potatoes, mix with some olive oil and whatever seasonings you want and bake until crispy, turning when they are about halfway done.
  17. I've tried the raw vegan diet but can't get to 100% because of gastroparesis. I find I have to eat a lot easy to digest foods like rice and pasta. However, when my stomach is cooperating, I love raw foods. Raw vegetables are my favorites. I also like onion bread (gluten-free) made into sandwiches with Swiss nut cheese, lettuce and tomato.
  18. You can make something like ice cream. You simply cut them in chunks, freeze them, then when you're ready to eat, put the frozen chunks in the blender and whip them into a frozen dessert. If you make more than you can eat at one time, freeze it in ice cube trays and whip it back in the blender to soften it up a bit. You can also dip the bananas in chocolate...
  19. Thanks. I do feel better today. But I have to keep looking at that jar of almond butter in the fridge. Grrr...
  20. The only thing I can think of is possible cross contamination. Perhaps the person filling the buffet had touched bread or cereal and then the juice?
  21. I could be wrong on this, but... I believe that the powdered kind you buy is gluten-free, but the made up kind is not gluten-free. I could be remembering the wrong drink though. Our local QFC was closing out a bunch of bottled drinks this summer and I was going to buy the ones my daughter liked when I noticed something (wheat gluten?) on the label that...
  22. Next time she will make her own sandwich!
  23. I believe chickpea miso is gluten free. Kind of hard to find though. I had to order it online and then I found that I don't like it.
  24. I can't believe what I just did. Daughter is having a field trip tomorrow and has to bring a quick sack lunch that she will be eating early and before the field trip. She said she wanted an almond butter and jelly sandwich. Normally, I send in a 2 slice package of Ener-G Rice Starch bread along with a single serve packet of almond butter and a single...
  25. I buy some pumpkin seed bars from Goraw that should be safe for you to eat. I also eat raw pumpkin seeds. I like them better than the roasted ones. Daughter eats turkey sticks that should be safe for you. They're made by Shelton's. You could also eat raw veggies but you'd have to keep them in a cooler to make sure they stay fresh. We had tuna casserole...
