  1. Well, maybe it's a good thing she has pre-made pizza. We once tried to get some and it took over 2 hours to get our order right. We had to keep sending it back. Wouldn't be a big deal except we have additional food allergies. She used to offer two kinds of crust. They kept putting the wrong toppings on the wrong crust.
  2. Agreed. Which is why I was worrying so much about it. Usually so many people want to move here, there is no chance of staying. We got lucky this time.
  3. I get mine at the health food store.
  4. The problem with that is, gluten free foods don't keep very well. I don't know if this would be viable or not.
  5. People can have a rice allergy but it is not one of the more common ones. You could also be allergic to chicken or one of the other ingredients.
  6. Sounds like you shouldn't have milk.
  7. Could be PUPPP. I had it but only on my arms. Didn't hurt or itch but was unsightly. I had a summer baby and was living on Cape Cod so long sleeves weren't an option. Open Original Shared Link
  8. That's a little far for me. Otherwise I'd go. We went to one at Manna Mills in Mountlake Terrace. Daughter was grouching and grumping about having to go until we got there. She does have additional food allergies, so not all of what was there was something she could eat. But she was amazed at the stuff she could eat and afterwards was excited to have...
  9. Okay, so this might have a little to do with food allergies. Sorry. Husband is in the military and he was due to move this summer. We are finally back in the area where I grew up. Got lots of friends and family here. Daughter likes it here. And best of all, we have a health food store just around the corner for us who is willing to order just about...
  10. Wow! Thanks! Can't wait to try the Swedish Meatballs! I sometimes make a dish similar to the Tater Tot casserole. I use Spud Puppies instead of Tater Tots. I think in the case of the Tots it is soy that's an issue and not gluten. If I can't find Spud Puppies, I use plain hash browns. I brown some ground beef that has some chopped onion and celery...
  11. It's better for us too, although it's still early here and daughter hasn't gone out yet. She has additional allergies. I am glad they took the soy out of Skittles and Starburst. And I'm glad to know that the modified food starch in Dots and other candies is made of corn. She still can't eat the chocolate though.
  12. I hope your Dr. checked your thyroid. Mine went out of whack when I was pregnant. I was already on a set diet due to gestational diabetes. One week I gained 10 pounds. The next week I lost 10 pounds. My Dr. freaked! But it wasn't my fault. It was my thyroid. In the end I gained a total of 12 pounds. But I did have gestational diabetes and they...
  13. Why don't you just get a RAST test done? One simple blood draw, and in a few days you'll know what your allergens are.
  14. I don't buy anything that was made on shared lines. But then we have numerous allergies. It's not just gluten.
  15. Things are not necessarily going to say gluten free on the label. But it's nice when they do! My daughter has a wheat and gluten allergy and not celiac. But she does get very sick when she consumes wheat or gluten. So I try not to buy things that are manufactured in a place that also uses wheat/gluten. There is usually a similar product we can find...
  16. Well, I'm not convinced that it does. I tried looking it up online and apparently hemp oil does show on drug tests. I couldn't find anything on the seeds. But husband is all freaked out about it and won't try it.
  17. I had wondered about the chocolate at Flying Apron. Daughter likes the icing on their chocolate cupcakes. Doesn't even eat all of it and never seems to get to the cupcake itself. It does list soy lecithin, and she does have a soy allergy. But she eats so little of it and so infrequently and she hasn't seemed to react. The reason why I wondered was...
  18. I love the Nacho Chreese. Can't say the same about the Chreese powder. Reminds me of mustard. But daughter likes it and so does the rest of my family. When I make the pasta with it, I add cubes of ham. It's always a hit. Just not for me. For pasta, I prefer the Say Cheeze from Namaste. Husband can't eat it though because it has hemp in it. He's...
  19. I've not bought the frozen ones. But I have bought the Ener-G rice crusts. They are shelf stable and are very good!
  20. Try adding a few hot peppers. Makes a nice dip for tortilla chips or raw veggies.
  21. I haven't had much luck at all with my bread maker. Have had a few loaves come out well, only to have a subsequent loaf with the same mix or recipe not work at all. Are you letting the bread rise twice? If so, this could be the problem. I have a cheap bread maker and it doesn't have a gluten-free setting on it. All of the settings except for the quick...
  22. Not all raw recipes are gluten-free. Some call for Nama Shoyu (raw soy sauce). You can usually sub in Celtic sea salt for that. I do. But some raw recipes also call for wheat berries. A dehydrator is often used for raw recipes as well. I make a wonderful onion bread in mine. It has no grains in it. The bulk of it is chopped onions, but there's...
  23. Well that's not good. I think the only way I could eat liver is to grind it up fine, put it in capsules and swallow it. I think it is just vile no matter what you do to it. Sorry.
  24. I have an egg allergy. I can't eat even a speck of egg. Become very ill. Throwing up and coming out the other end as well. The first time I eat an egg, it seems to take about 16 hours for me to get sick. But if I am fool enough to eat an egg again the day after, I will get sick about 30 minutes later. This happened to me before I confirmed the allergy...
  25. I sometimes make raw, vegan nut cheeses. I buy vegan rice cheese. I like the cheddar flavor. It's wonderful on pizza or nachos. There is an almond cheese that tastes good but I'm allergic to almonds. There are also soy based cheeses but daughter is allergic to soy so they are out. I also like Parma! A walnut based "parmesan" cheese. In pasta sauces...
