  1. Just got 4 boxes from that online place that is the name of a big river. Couldn't find it in any stores. Doesn't say gluten-free on the box. Tastes just like sugar cookies. Daughter has a new favorite!

  3. This is why we order only a limited number of things. Hamburger patty or chopped sirloin, plain chicken breast (only if we know it really is plain), ham, bacon or kielbasa. Fruit, plain salad, plain baked potato, plain rice (not many places have this) or maybe the fries or a bag of chips. No sauces or gravies ever.
  4. Thanks! Now maybe I can make Ravioli!
  5. Yes! These are just like I remembered them. Only they're a little more like busted open Pierogies. Hehehe. But sooo good! These will for sure be a new favorite! I started with 6 large russet potatoes. Peeled and boiled. Then drained and mashed. Into the mash I put one Walla Walla Sweet Onion (the smallest I could find which is still rather large...
  6. I have bought a gluten-free and soy free corn flake at Big Lots. Sorry I can't remember the name. Not sure if it is done in a dedicated facility. Daughter didn't much like it though.
  7. Generally, yes. You do need to check the ingredients though. Some dry roasted or flavored nuts could contain gluten.
  8. I bought some rice protein powder but haven't used it yet because like you, I can't have eggs or dairy and those are two foods it is commonly put in. You might try chia seeds. Mix them with water to a gel, let sit overnight and eat a few spoonfuls. They really keep me going.
  9. I get my nuts here. The owner is a celiac. Open Original Shared Link They do not have online shopping for their foods but they have told me they will ship things. You just need to call them and tell them what you want. If they do not have it in stock, they will try to order it. Their nuts and seeds are the freshest I've found.
  10. Not gluten free. I don't know why these people think the gluten goes away when it is sprouted.
  11. All the time. This was a very common meal in our house when I as growing up. Hamburger patty, canned peas and lettuce salad. Here, a lot of places are wrapping the burger in lettuce, sometimes serving it with tomato and onion. I don't like this because it wilts the lettuce. I have also seen a hamburger salad. Burger patty served on a green salad...
  12. I buy organic chicken. Nothing added.
  13. I use gluten-free oatmeal. I whiz it up in the food processor and then soak it in tomato juice, V-8 or whatever else I am using in place of milk. You can also buy gluten-free bread crumbs or make your own with gluten-free bread or crackers. Rice can also be used.
  14. My husband likes his Pierogies fried as well. I prefer them not.
  15. I don't work outside the house now and I gave up eating lunch. When I did work, at one place I had a large refrigerator I could put my lunch in. There, I would take a half a canteloupe hollowed out and filled with cottage cheese, or a large tossed salad with cheese, kidney and/or garbanzo beans and nuts. Sometimes took leftovers. We also had a microwave...
  16. Your cat looks just like my Maui! I used to make French Onion soup all the time but I made it my own way. I started with a mess of white onions cut in rings then cut in half. I would then sautee these in a mix of butter and olive oil over a somewhat low heat for a very long time until they got nicely browned. I would then slowly add beef broth. I used...
  17. Okay, I know it's not exactly the same, but... I can't have eggs. The recipes I've seen and the frozen ones I've found all have eggs. Someone at another forum gave me a recipe for ones that didn't have eggs, but I failed to save it to my computer. The forum closed. Said it was going to Miss Roben's but never did and... Now they are closed. I have...
  18. We like rice cheese and also the beef based stuff from Allergy Free foods. Mostly we just do without cheese. As for the greens, you can mince them into small bits and add to pretty much any cooked foods. I add Swiss Chard to hamburger gravy. Spinach can go into spaghett sauce.
  19. Tonight we ate at the Old Spaghetti Factory. Ordered gluten-free pasta and a sausage for daughter. I don't have a problem with gluten but am allergic to eggs and dairy so regular pasta is out and so is most bread unless I know exactly what's in it. Husband offered bread to daughter. That was the first mistake. Then I asked him to cut her sausage because...
  20. I was thinking the same thing. Too bad we can't have dairy!
  21. I did find the Nucoa today and bought it. Now I have to find more cookie mix.
  22. Specifcally what problems are you having?
  23. Thanks! I will try that then.
  24. I haven't seen Nucoa here. Have seen it in stores, just not here. They really don't seem to sell a lot of margarine here. Mainly butter. I used Ener-G egg replacer. Have used the flax before and that's what I usually do use. Will look at the website. Thanks!
