I am so sorry to hear that you are having such a hard time You've come to the right place for support - there are many here that are happy to help and just listen if need be! What kind of test was taken the first time when they told you that you had celiac - and why are they questioning that you don't now? I went gluten-free immediately and was gluten...

ARCHIVED My Husband Thinks It's All In My Head
Tritty replied to HAPPY DOG SUZ's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Thanks so much for your insight. I forget that men think so much differently than we do. Maybe instead of saying - you're doing this wrong and this wrong, etc. I need to be like I am with my kids (no offense!) and say thanks so much for... whenever he does something to help me or washes his hands after eating gluten, etc. Then maybe he won't feel so helpless... -
ARCHIVED My Husband Thinks It's All In My Head
Tritty replied to HAPPY DOG SUZ's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one with husband problems! I think the main problem with mine is that he doesn't want it to affect him. We're super busy with 3 kids (3, 2, and 1!) and he just doesn't have time for it. I've decided it's like being pregnant. It's something I had to deal with every minute of every day - and he would be a part of it when... -
ARCHIVED Edy's Fruit Bars?
Tritty replied to ebrbetty's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
They are good! I don't know if they are gluten-free - when they email you back make sure you post! They are great in the summertime... -
Thanks! WHat kind of snacks did you take for the trip? I was going to make at least the car ride totally gluten-free (i'm the only one who is gluten-free right now) so that I don't have to figure out how to clean my hands so much before I eat a snack. Any suggestions?

YEA! I'm going to FL soon and am so excited that I'll be feeling great for the car ride! NOw the only thing I'm worried about is keeping my 3, 2, and 1 year olds sane for the drive

ARCHIVED How On Earth?
Tritty replied to uhave2bekidding's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Aluminum foil - what a great idea! I bought a toaster oven instead of another toaster - my only investment so far. Well worth it! I love that it's so easy to clean and everyone can use it - since my house is not all gluten-free (yet - we may be doing that soon)... I posted something that explains how you can claim it on your taxes for NoGluGirl and I don... -
ARCHIVED Dizzy,tired
Tritty replied to holdthegluten's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I know exactly what you mean! Sometimes I even have it when I close my eyes. I just went gluten-free recently and I notice it more now - maybe because I feel better everywhere else? -
ARCHIVED Not Sure What This All Means...?
Tritty replied to Tritty's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Yes, he is in pain - I think! He's waking up 3 or 4 times a night and just cries for 5 minutes or so and then goes back to sleep. He seems to have much more gas and burps quite frequently. I think I would worry less if 5o/25 was closer to where he started out - but he seems to just keep getting lower... The doctor said the color indicates that his stool... -
ARCHIVED How Do You Cook Rice?
Tritty replied to alamaz's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Is that the pampered chef one? I've been looking for a good one, b/c I too can't seem to make decent rice. I'll do it the same way every time and once it's good - the other it's terrible -
ARCHIVED Not Sure What This All Means...?
Tritty replied to Tritty's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
So I went and saw the Dr this morning - he went ahead and referred me to a GI. I can't get in for 2 weeks. Any suggestions what to do until then? Should I keep a food diary for the GI? Or cut back on his table food with gluten...? -
ARCHIVED Sick From Wheat Flour In The Air? Does This Happen To You?
Tritty replied to nederlandse's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
I've been feeling all out of sorts lately and just read on here the other day that drywall has wheat in it. My husband is finishing our basement. So all of the dust from that must be getting to me - I would think it's possible. I wonder if you could suggest your mom taking an alcohol based wipe to all of her kitchen counters, handles, etc before you come... -
ARCHIVED My First Glutening After Going gluten-free - Weird
Tritty replied to flowergirl's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
You said that afternoon though - right? Is that the only thing you ate? Was it surrounded by something else? I'm new at this -but maybe that wasn't the culprit. I think that when I'm finally healthy from going gluten-free that's going to be the hardest thing - pinpointing what made you sick! Good luck - hope you're feeling better... -
ARCHIVED Not Sure What This All Means...?
Tritty posted a topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
My youngest is almost 13 months. He had a ttg and all came back fine. He is small, but has always been a terrible eater (at first it was because his tounge was tied - that broke on it's own). He seems to have some texture issues though - and still has some trouble chewing. He did grow before his last appt and is 50% in height again, but is still 25% in weight... -

ARCHIVED Anyone Watch Dancing With The Stars?
Tritty replied to blueeyedmanda's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
I love this show! I am taping it b/c my 2 yr old little girl LOVES to watch it with me. So we'll watch it tomorrow together - she dances along. It's too cute I watched the intro just to see who was on this season - looks like it should be good! -

Tritty replied to jkmunchkin's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications

ARCHIVED Positive Blood Test
Tritty replied to Farrbody's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I recently had my endoscopy, and am glad I had it. I found out I have a small hiatal hernia and also was glad to see the extent of my damage. It's a real eye opener to see a picture of your intestine - and then see a healthy one... -

ARCHIVED What About Breathing Flour In?
Tritty replied to sknisley22's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Drywall has wheat in it! Well no wonder. I'm still learning - so a glutening to me so far is just a weird feeling and some bloating. My husband is in the process of finishing out basement (to give me a place to work out so I can stay healthy!) - we have drywall dust everywhere. I've been trying to figure out for 2 weeks what is making me bloat off and on... -
ARCHIVED Has Anyone Been This Stupid ?
Tritty replied to georgie's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
How cute I bet it was worth it! I just need to find a good substitute for goldfish - my little girl will be devastated if she has to give up her cheesy crackers! -
ARCHIVED Planning For Gluten Free Diet
Tritty replied to Swthrtpookie's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I haven't tried it yet - but my nutritionist said that one of her patients uses waffles to make sandwiches! And to make mini-pizzas! -
How sad Even if she doesn't have celiac - she's going to have a complex. The mom needs to be in charge of what she eats (making sure she gets a protein in the morning to stick with her, etc) - and make sure it's healthy - not make her diet at age 10! And not starve the poor kid either - let her eat if she's hungry! Activity, activity, activity. That's...
