  1. Eggs!!! Scrambled, over easy, omelets, whatever, I ate eggs every single day when I was trying to gain weight. I discovered that scrambled eggs with salsa and diced avocado is one of the yummiest foods ever. Also, sweet potatos. They're very filling and so easy to bake. I like to eat them with chicken dinners because chicken doesn't fill me up very well...
  2. Well, yeah, I wouldn't expect a lot of snow in Tenn. But then they probably don't drive OVER the speed limit when there's ICE all over the road, now do they?!?!?! On their cell phones! With 6-inch piles of snow still on top of their cars!!!! With little 2-foot circles scraped off their windshields!!!!!
  3. I live in CT, and I don't mind the snow at all. We have good plowers, and if you just are patient you'll be able to get out on the road. I'll grant that they weren't completely prepared this weekend, but hey. And my boyfriend has a snowblower, GOD he loves that thing! He just tools around outside, has so much fun. And when he does it while it's still snowing...
  4. I say try it with the corn starch, you might be pleasantly surprised. Of course, the more different flours the better.
  5. I found a random french toast casserole recipe on Allrecipes and used it with gluten-free bread, came out great!
  6. In most recipes, you can swap corn, potato, tapioca, and arrowroot starch one for one. Cornstarch is the most versatile, I think you'll be safe.
  7. Ingredients: 2 cups all-purpose flour 1 cup buckwheat flour 1-1/2 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1 teaspoon nutmeg 2 teaspoons baking soda 3 teaspoons xanthan gum 2 cups pureed cooked or canned pumpkin 1 cup honey 1 cup olive oil 1/2 cup water 4 eggs Directions: Grease 2 9x9 pans. Stir together flour, sugar, baking soda, salt...
  8. Well, the cake part is already dairy free, so maybe a thick marshmallow center? Or melted chocolate chips? Or pumpkin butter?
  9. Yeah, I think my brain just fell out of my head.....
  10. I agree with Happygirl, this is a simple recipe and I would just replace the flours. Be aware, it may need to bake longer than you're used to.
  11. Ok, a few suggestions. Your batter will need to be more fluid and wet than what you're used to. This will be a CAKE batter, not like bread. I would make the only change be three eggs, four if they're small. You will also only do one rise, I would just pour it into the three pans and let it rise for a while. You may also need to bake it longer than the...
  12. gluten-free Pillsbury turnovers and Texas Toast
  13. This was truly disturbing. Here's a link: Open Original Shared Link
  14. You could go to that website, the 365 gluten-free crockpot blog and find a recipe of hers. That lady is my hero. Then you could just put something in the crockpot earlier that day.
  15. Can I ask if you mean "Annie's" or "Amy's"? I've never seen beans in a can from "Annie's".
  16. Uhoooh!!! Why's he need so much aleve for? Hope his tummy starts to feel better right away. I'm in Ct, it's sposed to be super icy here too. If it's really bad I'll have the man come get me, he's got an F150 with big mean tires. Oh! Oh! He's off work for the winter!!!! YAY!!!!! we manage our money so he can take the winter off instead of plowing and we...
  17. It really depends on the person and how damaged they are. Your daughter is young, and if she wasn't 'on the brink of death' as so many are when they finally receive a diagnosis, she may heal faster than a lot of the stories you've heard. However, if the lactase pills aren't working, she may be intolerant of the PROTEIN in dairy, called casein. I know it's...
  18. 24, no gray. My Mum's getting some gray, but she's 55. So no early graying here.
  19. *I'm dreaming.... of a whiiite Christmas........*
  20. Glad to know I haven't been planted on Lisa's bum. I have 'symphany' though Lisa, I had a fall like that a while ago and now I'm not allowed to walk around the house in socks unless they're grippy. Other wise I have to wear slippers, by decree of the King (my boyfriend).
  21. It looks like a lovely cake. Feel like sharing the recipe? That's also a lovely picture, very well presented cake!
  22. I have eight different shades of brown that gets blond streaks in the sun. My hair is very indecisive. But I have a blond friend and a few brunette acquaintances with Celiac, or some level of gluten intolerance.
  23. I have an old ceramic/iron casserole dish that I think is 9 by 13. It fits perfect. I don't have the dish right now so I will get back to you. I don't have a pyrex big enough or I would use one, you could always reduce the amounts of everything though.
  24. Don't see why not, I like the flavor buckwheat lends, that's all. Your all-purpose might have xanthan gum in it already though, so watch out for that.
  25. Crap! Warning to everyone: I scoop my flours, so if you use one of my recipes, do that.
