ARCHIVED Target Has Gluten Free Section
TrillumHunter replied to Wolicki's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Ours doesn't yet. Target has been s-l-o-w to carry gluten-free things. Even the regional stores around here carry far more than them. -
ARCHIVED Skinless Gyoza(potstickers)
TrillumHunter replied to missy'smom's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
This looks great! I'll be trying this soon. Pot stickers were one of my favorites before being diagnosed. I never thought of just doing them without the skin. -
Funny, nobody has missed a party yet in my house. Are you missing birthday parties and social occasions? I will continue to make decisions for my kids without apology regardless of the difficulty involved. Celiac is more than a GI disease.

ARCHIVED Feeling Your Baby Move?
TrillumHunter replied to jordanandnadia's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I'd bet it was your baby. It always felt like a fluttery, tiny bubbling feeling to me. That timeline is a guide. In my last pregnancy, I felt my son move very early. Enjoy each moment! It is an amazing, miraculous time and soon those flutters will turn into recognizable parts like elbows and a bottom. Prayers for a happy and healthy pregnancy! -
Thankfully, that is just an opinion. Otherwise, my daughter with a ttg less than five points from the cutoff would have continued to eat poison for "just another year." Instead we chose to make a simple dietary change that transformed her world. The process of biopsy is flawed. Do you realize how sick some people are before they are able to find the...

ARCHIVED Pizza Topping Faves
TrillumHunter replied to purple's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Lightly cooked spinach, artichokes, and roasted red peppers all with a good dose of chopped garlic and a drizzle of olive oil. Yummy! -
What's your point with this?

ARCHIVED New Gi Doesn't Believe That My Dd Has Celiac!
TrillumHunter replied to ptkds's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Do I understand that he doesn't believe many people have celiac? If that's true, it might be best to move on if you can as he is woefully behind on current statistics and knowledge. I wouldn't do that to a four-year-old. Think of how confusing it would be to be told she can eat what previously she was told was poison. Think of her young developing brain... -
ARCHIVED Raw Apple Cider Vinegar Helps!
TrillumHunter replied to cvll's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Aside from helping with digestion, it keeps my skin really clear. I drank it a lot in the beginning when I was having lots of stomach issues, but then I slacked off. I've picked it back up and I'm amazed how good my skin looks in week. Maybe there is something to the detox effect? FWIW, Bragg's is the only one I can stomach. It has a faintly apple... -
ARCHIVED Breast Tenderness
TrillumHunter replied to Becci's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I agree with tarnalberry. Really, a pg test is so, so cheap! You can rule out this real possibility very quickly. Lucid dreams can happen when you're especially stressed. That's the only time I've ever had them. I'm guessing if you are on the pill and thinking you could be pg, that might be a bit stressful. If you aren't pg, go talk to your dr about... -
ARCHIVED Trouble With Kinnikinnick Donuts
TrillumHunter replied to finally diagnosed's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Three doughnuts is a lot of doughnuts. This is especially true for gluten-free doughnuts because of the super high carb count. Maybe you should wait awhile and then try eating just one before you decide they're contaminated? If Kinnikinnick is having cross contamination issues, we're ALL gonna be jacked up. -
ARCHIVED Trader Joe's
TrillumHunter replied to pdx.lila's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Did you read the part about only labeling gluten-free if there was NO WHEAT used in the manufacturers facility? You said the soup was labeled gluten-free, right? But still you believe there was gluten. It couldn't have been anything else you ate in the previous three days? It couldn't possibly be anything else? I've consumed lots of things from Trader... -
We eat the there and have all the meats, beans, slaw and the fries at our location. I wouldn't eat the fries without asking about the fryer at any other location.

ARCHIVED Do Girl Puppies Get Uti's?
TrillumHunter replied to TrillumHunter's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
She's a mutt. She's Jack Russell, basset and beagle. She'll be a small dog. We got her Sunday and she saw the vet Sunday. She did think she was very healthy. She is eating/peeing/pooping just fine. I'm amazed to be able to say that she already does her business outside. Everything is good, except she sleeps SO MUCH and the dragging she does. I... -
ARCHIVED Do Girl Puppies Get Uti's?
TrillumHunter posted a topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
We've had her a week and she's about eight weeks old. She is sleeping more than I'm expecting. She's also dragging herself on the ground after she goes--her belly, not her bottom. It seems strange to me. The vet gave her a clean bill of health a few days ago except for worms. She's been treated for those. She's TINY, about two pounds, so I'm concerned... -
ARCHIVED Best Find Ever!
TrillumHunter posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Wow! Right? Here in the southeast we have a grocery outlet called United Grocery Outlet. I popped in there after soccer to get my kid a drink and found these. They had sesame and plain and they're good until May 2010. Is that amazing or what? They also had the cheese pizza for $1.69. I'm less excited about that because I can make good pizza. Bagels... -
ARCHIVED Gluten Free Products
TrillumHunter replied to AKcollegestudent's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I've had several varieties of the Tasty Bites. They have all been yummy. Nana's and Enjoy Life cookies I did not enjoy at all. What about gluten-free Cafe for frozen pasta meals? Your good health is worth pestering, and ultimately educating, this chef. -
ARCHIVED Breast Tenderness
TrillumHunter replied to Becci's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
So we all think it's hormonal. But if you've been "exposed" within the last four weeks, a pregnancy test is the quickest and cheapest thing to check first. If you aren't, you can pursue the other things. -
ARCHIVED Breast Tenderness
TrillumHunter replied to Becci's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Yep, that would be my first thought as well. -
ARCHIVED My Heart Is Breaking
TrillumHunter replied to elle's mom's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
I agree with the other posters. Give the others parents a chance to be aware and care for your little one. I'll bet most will happily comply more often than not. If some chose not to, well, some folks are like that and she'll always have her special bag to pick from. If there had been a kid like that in my kid's preschool, I would have been all over... -
I'll be traveling up to Ohio soon and I'm sure I'll try it. We ate at one in Medina and had a good experience. I was impressed that lots of the items on the salad bar were from Ohio farms.

I don't have any tips, but I wanted to tell you even clean people can get infested. This can be especially true in apartments where you're neighbors aren't so clean. I hope this can get resolved quickly for you!

ARCHIVED Can Someone Please Help Me?...no One Will Listen!
TrillumHunter replied to Lilymylove's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Lily, you are 17. A parent doesn't need to come to the doctor with you. Tell your mom you are sick and you need to go to the doctor. This is true, correct? When you are there tell the doctor your grandfather had celiac (true) and your dad is having problems like that too that he is seeing a doctor for-also true. Tell the doctor it was recommended that... -
ARCHIVED My First Gluten-free Day
TrillumHunter replied to Frances03's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
But don't pitch the loaf of tapioca bread! Turn it into croutons or even breadcrumbs by cubing it up and toasting it. It's tasty that way and a lot cheaper than buying these things.
