  1. I've noticed that too. I find that the pasta cools down really quickly.
  2. You can ask your doctor for the celiac blood test panel. You must be consuming gluten in order for the tests to be accurate. The results may come back false negative if you are on the gluten free diet. Some people feel better within a few weeks; however, I would say that the majority feel better within 3-6 months. I started to feel better on the gluten...
  3. If some of their products contain wheat, then cross contamination could be the problem. Does anyone know which Dove products contain gluten?
  4. If you do decide to go gluten free, any tests for celiac disease after starting the gluten free diet could be false negative.
  5. Old El Paso has small and large corn tortillas that are gluten free.
  6. Wow that is such a great idea. If I am spending time in Calgary I'll have to check it out!
  7. I find the website slow sometimes, but not all the time.
  8. For me it depends on how I feel. If I feel nauseated, I will not eat at all until the nausea goes away, which can be for about 24 hours. If I am not feeling nauseated but am having the opposite problem, I will just eat very lightly for a few days. And if I am not feeling either, I will just eat normally.
  9. Which blood tests were done? And were you on the gluten free diet when these tests were done? You could be intolerant to gluten without having celiac disease, which would cause some of these problems. Also, you could be intolerant to other foods such as dairy, soy, eggs, corn, ect. I am dairy intolerant in addition to having celiac disease and dairy...
  10. Wine should be ok to drink and use in recipes since it is made from grapes. I'm pretty sure that all wines would be gluten free unless gluten is added somehow.
  11. I love Tinkyada pasta I know someone who is not on the gluten free diet that actually perfers this pasta over gluten pasta.
  12. I have problems with their fries but it is because they have dairy in them (I am intolerant to dairy as well). I personally don't eat fries at any fast food restaurants because the risk of cross contamination is so high. Even though there is a dedicated fryer, mistakes can happen and someone may accidently drop a chicken nugget or something in the oil and...
  13. I also got different symptoms after I got gluten contamination on the diet. My new symptoms were mild to severe stomach pain, heart palpitations, chicken pox like dots on my skin and I still got most of all the other symptoms I used to get (fatigue, extreme brain fog, and various stomach "problems"). And like you, I can get these reactions from the slightest...
  14. I've never had a problem with them
  15. Thanks for the information Same with my church
  16. Yeah, there is a lot of "behind the scenes" stuff and talk that most people don't know about. Who would want to do research in this area? I certainly wouldn't. In my opinion, I think there are more important things to research, such as finding a cure for cancer.
  17. What perfumes have you found to be gluten free?
  18. I also don't seem to tolerate many products that are produced near wheat/gluten or on the same lines as gluten. For example, I react to gluten free Humpty Dumpty chips that are produced on the same line as gluten chips. There have been two products that blatantly listed gluten free on the label that I have reacted to.
  19. I also get severe stomach pain (upper abdominal), so I know what you are going through. Pain killers don't work on me, so I usually just have to wait it out. I find that laying on my back and rubbing the area helps a lot for me. I would guess that ice packs would help too.
  20. ah ok, what you said makes perfect sense. He understands it all, but he just seems scared. That's understandable, he probably doesn't want anything bad to happen to you. Some guys are just so hard at expressing themselves. I know a few
  21. I have a wheat allergy and celiac disease so you could have both. That's really annoying that the doctor didn't to a celiac blood test based on those results. If you want to go 100% gluten free you will have to have your own condiment jars, toaster, deep fryer, ect. I can e-mail you some gluten free product lists if you are interested.
  22. wow... well maybe the doctor can explain genetic testing to your husband when you get your doctor to explain everything to him. I think he will be more understanding once he learns how serious this is. That's a great idea. Let us know how it goes.
  23. The tTg test only tests for IGA antibodies and there are about 10-20% of celiacs that don't produce those antibodies, so test results can be false negative. Maybe you could ask for the IgG celiac blood test? Just thought this may be something that you might want to look into.
  24. I agree It's a long drive for me to get to Calais Maine... so I'm trying to get a friend to get me some Lea & Perrins worcestershire sauce from the states. This may be my only way.
  25. Which tests did you have done? You could be intolerant to gluten.
