ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something
mftnchn replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I have trouble with it too. I was doing a very simple workout for awhile then discovered it was worsening my back and shoulder pain. I was really having trouble sleeping, and for a couple days was too busy and skipped. I was suddenly better--and finally figured out it was the yoga. Sherry -

I use 1/4 C coffee (4 Tablespoons) and 1-2 quarts of water, so I agree that seems like a lot of coffee. I'd cut back and see if it is better. Sometimes it is pretty yucky, Lisa, it is worse the more symptoms I have. I do get tingliness afterwards sometimes kind of all over, but usually in my face, sometimes a little weakness or a wiped out sensation... -

I tried the wet foundation brush idea yesterday, but didn't have enough of the sun kissed fair foundation left, so used multi-tasking. I felt like I had too much foundation on--more than I like. I might like it better with the lighter color foundation. It seemed like I was using a lot more foundation than usual that way as well. I'm not needing to cover... -

Julie, I need to try this when I am here since I didn't find castor oil in China. How do you apply it? Like put it on a towel with heat or something? How long do you put it on? I am wondering if I could do this while I do my ecoffee in the mornings and get another detox boost. -

Mainly just dropped the flagyl (metronadazole) and lamisil (antifungal). Other than that, just the detox stuff I was doing, including the gua sha in China. I am hoping yours is better soon, too. -
ARCHIVED I'm New...my First Real Test Is Feb. 14
mftnchn replied to Beckula's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Welcome, Beckula, There are five blood tests for celiac that are recommended on this forum, looks like you just had one. If they do more blood tests, just know that you will need to be eating substantial amounts of gluten for those to be positive. That goes for the biopsy as well, if that is planned. Those are the two gold standard ways for diagnosing... -

Thanks, I need to research on the GSE and see how that compares to the resveratrol that I was taking which I think is an extract even more refined perhaps. The ART session said I should not take that so am no longer taking it. I'm interested because I would like to be on a cyst-buster. BTW my liver enzymes are now normal! So maybe I can try flagyl... -

Donna, I have been doing allergy shots for so many years...and sometimes I bruise and sometimes I don't. Its not really a big deal to me anymore. Seems like there are just some small vessels and sometimes I happen to hit one just right. I'd suggest not rubbing after, just press and put pressure for a minute or two like you do when they draw your blood... -

Carla, what is GSE? I can't figure it out from the Cowden protocol. Sherry -
Sorry to hear of this difficulty. So do you think you might be celiac? You could consider doing Enterolab for gluten sensitivity if you are still getting gluten in some form through oats (contaminated with wheat), barley, rye, or some of the hidden ingredients. However, your insurance would likely not cover this. You might do a search on this board...

ARCHIVED Cheese Alternative...?
mftnchn replied to sickchick's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
The cashew cheese option works the best for me. There are several recipes if you do a search. I use the sliceable cashew cheese recipe that has kosher gel (I use gelatin as I am not vegan). This can be shredded when just out of the freezer, and I use it on pizza. It melts quickly and reminds me more of cream cheese in consistency. I just made my cashew... -
ARCHIVED Can't Eat Fat At All, Symptoms Seem Worse Than Ever
mftnchn replied to lightening16's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
This could just be a matter of time, it takes 1-2 years for the intestines to heal after going gluten-free if you have celiac. Malabsorption is common due to the intestinal wall damage, and this makes fat very hard to digest. You may need to do a very simple diet for awhile, and then as you tolerate it, add other things back in. -
ARCHIVED Constipation...
mftnchn replied to jewi0008's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
The big C is my primary gluten symptom. Besides being dairy free and soy free as well, what helps me is powdered Vitamin C and also magnesium. I have been using a buffered Vitamin C powder that also contains magnesium, it is easier to take than the pure C. Without this I hardly have a BM. -
ARCHIVED Am I The Only One Who Can See The Link?
mftnchn replied to AliB's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I agree that many who don't meet the gold standard for diagnosis are likely still celiac--and I place myself in this category. However, I agree with Tim about the caution of equating gluten intolerance with celiac because another reason for GI might be missed. A couple of people I know on this forum have found their gluten intolerance due to another issue... -

Mia and Kassandra, Yes, the digestive enzymes do help me with stomach upset, I noticed quite a bit when I ran out recently. Right now I am dealing with nausea again, maybe a virus, maybe the Levaquin. I'll double my enzymes today and see if it helps. -

Yes, now that you are gluten free the other blood tests and biopsy used to check for celiac will most likely be negative. Many of us are in this situation, we don't have a definite diagnosis according to these standards. Some doctors will give a clinical diagnosis based on dietary response. You can have the gene tests, but having the most common genes... -

Yes, I did food testing after the fast, so it was to prepare for that...clear my system of all foods so I could test using organic foods, one food at a time. I felt worse at first then felt quite well by day 5-6. -

From what I understand it is quite different because if the shot solution "leaks" back up the needle track it stains your skin permanently. You have to do a Z track method where you pull the skin to one side, inject then release so that it seals up the spot with the solution. This isn't current information though...maybe it is a lot better than it was... -

Nope, no way to prevent it I guess. I just have some slight narrowing at this point, it doesn't need treatment at this point. Crummy genetics. Today I have been trying to face the fact that I have two and possibly a third condition that is connected to diabetes. I don't have that at this point thank goodness, but I guess I had best face facts and cut...
