  1. Maybe because it tests at below a certain limit. They state on the website that the processing and filtration removes the gluten. There may be some who can tolerate it but I know I am not one of them.
  2. While this hard lemonade is supposed to be 'gluten free by processing' many of us can't handle items that are 'gluten free by processing'. It is made with barley malt. If you want an alcoholic beverage after you are feeling better go with something like wine, gluten-free beer like Redbridge, a clear rum or potato vodka. From their website: "We start...
  3. Sorry you didn't get any replies to your original post. You could be one of us. If you are not going to get an endoscopy then give the diet a good strict try for at least a couple of months. If you go with whole unprocessed foods it is easiest to heal and avoid CC. Do read as much as you can here and I hope you are feeling better soon.
  4. I had DH for years when I was a child without any GI symptoms to speak of. Do ask the doctor to biopsy but make sure he is looking for DH as he will need to biopsy the skin next to an active lesion and tell the lab that he is looking for DH as they have specific lab tests that need to done. It wouldn't be a bad idea to go ahead and ask for a celiac panel...
  5. If she is having bloody BMs then she really should bite the bullet and have that colonoscopy. I know the prep isn't pleasent but she really needs to eliminate dire reasons for the bleeding.

There are some folks well versed in that diet here and they will likely reply soon. You say your wife is getting glutened often. Are others still eating gluten in the home? If so does your wife have condiments, nut butters, butter, etc of her own? Double dipping a knife from gluten breads or foods will CC her. Flour remains airborne for up to 2 days so...
  7. You do need to stay on gluten until the endo is done or you risk a false negative. You could have a false negative even on the diet so you want the best chance you have at getting an accurate result. Talk to the GI about your fears of the anesthesia not working. The anesthesiologist will make sure you are out.
  8. If you are still feeling sick you may have gluten sneaking in somewhere. It is best to go with whole unprocessed food as that will cut out a lot of the CC risk. Have you taken the precautions in your home that you need to take, not sharing condiments, nut butters etc with gluten eaters, not baking with wheat flour for others, your own toaster, new strainers...
  9. There are many different stool tests. Who knows, other than your doctor what he exactly ordered. If you are in the US you have a legal right to copies of all tests that are done. You may want to get copies of all stool and blood tests and if a celiac panel is not in the blood work fire the doctor.
  10. It doesn't go around your wrist but it isn't really huge. My DD had to wear one for a couple days before she was diagnosed as she was having palpitations and her lips would turn blue which had the doctors worried about her heart.
  11. The biopsy can have false negatives so do give the diet a good strict go as soon as the procedure is done.
  12. Since a lot of the issues happen around your period have you tried talking to your OB/GYN about it? He/She may have some ideas. I agree it is time to find a new PCP. Some insurance companies will allow you to just call a GI doctor without a referral. You may want to check and see if that is the case with yours.
  13. Yep. Rice Crispies treats are back on the menu at my house. Yay! I love them with chocolate chips mixed in. Hard to resist eating them non-stop though so I don't make them often.
  14. You have gotten some great advice alreay. The only thing I want to add is that if your D is waking you up at night be sure to mention that to your doctor. IBS does not wake folks out of sleep according to my GI. If that is happening to you that rules out it being just IBS.
  15. Lac-resin is insect derived not dairy derived. So it would be gluten free. Open Original Shared Link The milk would be in the chocolate over the rasiens. It could perhaps be CC but I am pretty sensitive and have never had an issue with them. Maybe call the company and see if they are processed in a shared plant. It can be hard to rule out that something...
  16. With positive blood tests she is celiac. It sounds like your doctor is giving the diagnosis without the endo. Since he is advising just starting the diet that would be what I would do. If you do decide to endo make sure to keep her on gluten until that test is finished and keep in mind that endos can have false negatives. You wouldn't need to wait for the...
  17. Yes a blood test can be negative and then go to positive. There are times when a doctor will endo without positive bloods. Talk to your doctor about it. However you need to be eating gluten for any celiac associated testing. So if you are going to get more testing done do go back on gluten. There is a good chance your body is going to really not like it when...
  18. Are you okay with dairy? Perhaps that might be the issue with them. We also have to keep in mind that it isn't always the last thing we eat that gets us as our reactions can be delayed. It is helpful for some to keep a food and symptoms diary to see if there is a pattern. I think the glaze used on Raisenettes is a lac-resin which is the same resin used...
  19. I think if you are getting small amounts of gluten over an extended period of time that it is giving the antibodies more time and strength building up. I guess I am lucky that I get enough of an effect quick enough so that I don't get the chance to have things build up as my reaction becomes evident within a few hours at most. I have neuro issues that clue...
  20. Northeastern in Boston was really good at accomdating my DD a few years ago. You have to live on campus the first year so they let us opt out of the meal plan and put her in houseing where she lived in a dorm in a single room with a small kitchette.
  21. That sounds awful. I hope the DH resolves for you soon. Meanwhile here is the FDA site link to report adverse reactions to drugs. Open Original Shared Link
  22. I wonder if you are sensitive to something other than gluten or perhaps the reaction was from something else. Raisinets are one of my go to snacks and I have never had an issue with them. I'm not sure what the glaze is made from as it can come from a variety of sources. Maybe contact Nestle and ask what they make it from.
  23. Sorry you are feeling so bad right now. I go with Cream of Buckwheat and also chicken broth with rice noodles. Sweet potatos are also good as they have good amounts of both soluable and insoluable fiber so they help with both D and C.
  24. I think a lot of doctors attitudes to people having one drink a day is because so many of them think that we are 'underestimating' how much we drink. Many doctors think if someone says they have one drink a day that they actually mean a whole bottle. One glass of wine a day or one alcohol beverage a day is fine, IMHO as long as someone is well healed and...
  25. Are you or is anyone else in your house a smoker? That would elevate the Co2. I don't know if anything celiac wise could account for that but I also have had elevated Co2 but my doctors considered it to be because I am a smoker. Perhaps others will have some other possible reasons.
