  1. If you are going to college your Mom has no place in that doctors office with you other than to give you a ride. This is coming from a mom who is someone who given the choice would be joined at the hip to her young adults. LOL Your doctor should have seen you by yourself. If you are over 18 she can't even look at your records or talk to your doctor without...
  2. I take the Country Life and haven't encountered soy in any of the ones I take. Haven't checked them all though.
  3. You could check into Coutry Life or Now brands. I get both at my local health food store.
  4. With the hoarding issue it helped me to realize why I was hoarding. After much thought and a bit of therapy I can to realize that for me it was because I had lost everything more than once in my life. Once I realized that I tackled on thing at a time. Books, for example, I would go through one bookcase at a time, only keeping what I really thought I might...
  5. I second this. One of my worst glutenings came from doing drywall work. Also if your girlfreind uses makeup and lipstick are those gluten free? Do you consume gluten grain distilled alcohols? Not all of us react but some do. If your girlfreind is a gluten eater does she brush her teeth really well before you kiss? That can be a source of CC. Do you use toiletries...
  6. Just start with, as you said, fresh or single ingredient frozen veggies and fruits, fresh meats and chicken, potatoes, sweet potatoes, etc. If the issue is soy you should see results pretty quickly. Or at least I did. I had to eliminate it about five years in. I had no D from soy but the stomach pain was awful. It still is when I consume any. It doesn...
  7. Good, I also found it helpful to see that so many others had also suffered as I did and recovered. Hopefully the MRI results will be good ones. Keep us posted on how your doing and I hope you have some answers soon.
  8. That appears to be mostly coconut based and I don't see anything that looks like it could have gluten. I also have DH and do avoid it in topicals since anything I use on my skin can get into my mouth. If you have DH you should also avoid iodine in foods until you have been clear for a while as iodine will reactivate the antibodies.
  9. First take a deep breath. Yes swollen glands can be part of the inflammation process with celiac although it isn't a symptom most people speak of. I had swollen glands literally for years and I am still here and healthier gluten free than ever in my life. Your glands can swell for all kinds of reasons and you doctors have investigated them so relax about...
  10. Thank you for the update. Glad your seeing positive changes and you let us know. It will be helpful for others that are new and struggling.
  11. If you are still having symptoms then stop using it, see if the problems resolve and, if you feel the need, give it another try and see if symptoms return.
  12. Connie I am so sorry to hear about your fiance. My heart goes out to you. The people who tell you to just get over it have never suffered that kind of loss. The pain does dull but I don't think it ever fully leaves. (((((((((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
  13. Do be sure to stay on the gluten until all your testing is finished. As soon as the tests are done you can start on a dietary trial. You don't need to wait for the results.
  14. What a sweetie. Definately can't use him to guard the goodies. Do watch him for any adverse reactions though but hopefully he didn't munch himself into a bellyache.
  15. I am not a person who usually would say this but I would contact a lawyer. You should be compensated not only for the cost of the trip but also for your pain and suffering. What they did was not excusable and should never happen to anyone else.
  16. I have had celiac since I was around 6 years old. I was finally diagnosed at age 48. 6 months before I was diagnosed I was in such bad shape, and had been for so many years, that my daughter came to me one morning in tears and told me the family would understand if I committed suicide. Like you I had doubts I would ever recover. My recovery from the daily...
  17. It sounds like you need to find a 'nanny'. Is there a high school or college close by where you can find someone you can trust to watch the kids for at least a couple of hours? Have them take them to a park or out in the back yard to play. Glad you are giving yourself a bit of treat today. Hope that was a new cast iron skillet or at least one that never...
  18. I would eliminate both along with the other items you showed problems with. It is not unusual for us to be intolerant to gluten and casien. After you heal you could challenge them with the other items, one at a time, in pure form, for a week and see if you are having any reaction. Do note that reactions are not always gut reactions with gluten. Some of us...
  19. In my case, and I was very far along as far as celiac goes, when I had allergy testing done before diagnosis I showed an allergic reaction to all but one of the 99 things I was tested for. That prompted my allergist to put me on the elimination diet and I was finally on the road to my celiac diagnosis. For me after a time gluten free almost all those allergies...
  20. Are you taking iron in supplements? IF you are not you need to find out why that is high. There are some conditions that can cause an elevated level and those should be ruled out. If you are taking supplements with iron get some without and take those. Too much iron can damage organs. As to the Librax, this is only my opinion, but I was on that med...
  21. Snickers are a wonderful treat! My DD literally jumped for joy when we discoved they were safe. She even wrote her entrance essay for college on the 'ritual' she did to eat them. That ritual was quite a process and rather fun to watch as she would use a knife and fork. Not only did she get in but she also easily got her own room in senior housing her...
  22. Have you eliminated iodine, in salt, supplements and seafood? Iodine keeps the antibodies active and prevents us from healing. You may want to eliminate it for a bit. After the antibodies have left the skin then you can go back to it. The antibodies can take quite some time to leave so give it at least a few months before trying to add it back in.
  23. It should be gluten free but that doesn't mean your body likes it. Do you have an issue with sulfites? I know red wine has naturally occuring sulfites and I think the vinegar would also. Another possibility is that something else you had in the last couple days may have been what got you. It can take a couple of days for a reaction in some folks.
  24. Just my opinion but I would have him biopsied if he is willing.
