ARCHIVED Am I Starting Over Everytime Time I Get Glutened?
GFinDC replied to Mike212's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease

So it isn't a light-wieght kind of system, since there are lots of deadly germs around us all the time. The immune system has to kill those germs constantly or we become sick. The autoimmune... -

Ack, flooding is no fun! Since you mentioned flooding though, you may just fit right in on this thread. Phlooding seems to be a common topic there for some reason. Unofficial erudite conversation thread: https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/98288-the-funny-pages-tickle-me-elbow-the-sequel/ -
Sounds like a real hot summer for you all. Ceiling fans seem to help me a lot when it is hot. Keeping lights turned off helps too. One or two light bulbs turned on all day can add quite a bit of heat to a house. Have you all tried frying an egg on the sidewalk yet? If not, what are you waiting for? You know it's hot when you are driving down the...

ARCHIVED Do Any Doctors Base A Ttgdiagnosis Off A Blood Test Alone?
GFinDC replied to GDLions's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Some might if there is symptom resolution after the gluten-free diet is started. But that would be something to ask them before starting the gluten-free diet. Hi Lynrn, No, it shouldn't make the diahrea worse.Between the 3 things, pro-biotics, digestive enzymes, and psyillium husks, I think the pro-biotics would be the most useful thing. -

GFinDC replied to LFitts's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Hi LFitts, It sounds like she has a great diet environment. Maybe you can try a test to see if she is having pain or discomfort she isn't expressing? Some of the things I do if I have a glutening are: 1 Take peppermint tea or Peppermint Altoids. 2 Take aspirin or other pain releiver. 3 Take Pepto Bismol. Blood sugar problems can cause leg cramps also. If you are concerned about low potassium you can try Morton Lite Salt. It has potassium in it. I used to get leg cramps but haven't had them in a few years. I can't say I know why they stopped.
