    A GI would be the best person to follow your care, as there are screenings that should be performed on a celiac that are either done later, or not routinely on a non-celiac. They should also be more knowledgable than a GP, and if you encounter further problems, you already are established with them and in a better position to find help. In your situation...

    Hey David That article is over 10 yrs old, and a lot of info has been discovered regarding genetics and celiac. Even with the genetic testing, there can be a false negative,(can't say that I've heard of a lot of false positives) depending on what lab you use. If your wife and child came back positive for the markers, it's more than likely to be correct...

    Just on a side note, Z Pizza (if anyone has one near by) uses crusts made by Domata, and they are so STINKIN good. Our location has also completed the GREAT program, which is a certification program to ensure CC doesn't happen. For those of you that have purchased their flour, do you prefer it over other blends?     I think that you do need to investigate something other than or in conjunction with celiac. You shouldn't be steadily removing foods with no improvement.     Did they do a total IgA serum with the celiac panel? If your IgA is low, the two IgA tests are worthless. I have low IgA, and my doc did order a total serum, but didn't order any IgG tests. By the time I went to a GI who knew this was a problem, it was too late. Given your family history, it would be worth investigating. Have you tried a gluten-free diet...

    You can also go to celiac.org and request some information from them. They will send you some startup materials and list you as a contact person for your area. I looked into this before I found our local group.

    I'm the only one in my house, too. As a general rule, I don't cook anything I can't eat. My son and my husband eat cheerios for breakfast, or they'll eat regular toast. We have very little gluten in our house. I do not have wheat flour, so anything I bake is gluten free. My husband has been really good about it, and we eat really well without gluten. I feed...

    I'm clinically diagnosed. I got new life insurance in Sept, and I got the standard rate. Some people here have had issues, others haven't. But my insurance carrier didn't recognize it as official, which worked to my advantage. My doctor believes I have it, and he treats me accordingly. That's really what matters anyway.
