  1. Well, there are many things of which we have two Now we need to know the answer to your question, if it's noteworthy that K has two of them
  2. Welcome to the board, Eva Bee. When you say "just as bad as" I assume these both are a problem with you? I am with you on the corn, but sorghum and buckwheat are my two go-to" grains since I can't eat millet, quinoa, amaranth or soy. Yes, I have tried frying rice wraps. They are a bit fragile, but it's doable. I haven't seen the beancurd sheets...
  3. You will always find it recommended on here (or at least it should be) that you aim for the middle of the normal range. If you are at the bottom, you are just about to fall off the end
  4. Not with the camera which only passes through. It helps him make a more accurate diagnosis and a better treatment plan, depending on what he finds.
  5. Maybe I should get some and then I will have a lemon substitute???
  6. Doesn't anybody use the time-honoured cure of rubbing it with steak, and then burying the steak in the garden under a fulll moon?? It was either that which worked for me, or (and you have to remember this was NZ) the ink in my inkwell which I used to jab into it with my nib I bet there are not a lot of you who had inkwells and nibs in school.
  7. Man, the only sumac I heard of is poison, and I sure don't have that in my pantry. I do, however, have juniper berries and saffron.
  8. Yay, Raschelle - what a fine Chrissie pressie, as they say here -- your freedom!!! But what a year it has been for a lot of us. Jacquie, so sorry about your dad. I went into a kind of fugue state when mine died, walked alone on wild beaches, just walked.... Gals miss their dads.
  9. Welcome to the forum, Alexis. I am so sorry you are going through this sad, sad time with your miscarriages. It is very heartbreaking and stressful. But you are very young still -- many women today don't start their families until your age, so please don't think that your time is past. With the miscarriages your body is sending you a message that...
  10. Nice to see you back with the good news that you have conquered your food demons Newbies may not appreciate what effort you have put into this, but those who know, KNOW. Well Done!!! Ditto for your son. And, you have so many good tips to share. I am so happy for you.
  11. Any hash browns to go with that?
  12. Until next time, my new title is "life"saver. If it hadn't been for them I wouldn't be having no lifestyle
  13. I think I missed something along the way -- what is LGG?
  14. Not only that, but I am doing something very counter-intuitive, in taking Humira injections for my psoriatic arthritis (which, although I think it is not as bad as before the diet, is still debilitatingly painful if I don't) and which are TNF inhibitors which, wait for it, suppress the immune system So anytime I get an infection of any kind I can't shoot...
  15. Thanks for all your sympathies. It's funny, it has affected me in ways I did not ever contemplate. I never tried to write a poem for someone before I just hope they all get to go sailing together again
  16. And so far we are on the fourth page and going strong. Here's what the OED has to say: LIFESTYLE "lifestyle (a) a person's basic character as established early in childhood which governs his or her reactions and behaviour; ( an individual's or group's way of life; a way or style of living; " DIET 1 Food; esp. one's habitual food. Freq...
  17. Ray, are you able to eat potato skins without any problem? It is the skins that I cannot eat because they contain the protein called lectin (there are also lectins in many other foods; e.g., probably in brown rice because it has the outer husk of the rice grain which is removed for white rice.) I tend to avoid brown rice to keep away from as many lectins...
  18. Talking of food and lifestyles, I just saw a cooking show on the foods of Brazil and they featured the carioca boyz.... in Rio. Now dat's a lifestyle if ever I saw one. No muumuus there!
  19. Yep, just a little organization is needed so we don't have five different conversations interspersed amongst each other. (like I just did before I corrected - you can quickly lose the context). But then, maybe we is too old; however, methinks, with feets like dat, Bunnie is barely hatched.
  20. Wild rice should not be a problem; but some people can't handle any grain-like carbs. I would be more concerned that it might have been cross-contamination, or even the legumes. Some of us cannot handle them either, at least for the moment. Yes, yes, you must read all the ingredients in the label. My hubs is not very good at this (could be because he...
  21. Nothin' worse than a chilly cabana boy
  22. And I hate 'lifestyle' because there is something in that word that implies 'choice' and we have none when it comes to gluten.
