ARCHIVED Butter
GlutenGalAZ replied to hrly169's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I get I Can't Believe Its Not Butter. If you look at their Frequently Asked Questions on their site I believe they still have a comment about their items and gluten free. A lot of websites now have notes/comments about their gluten free items. Good Luck -

Centrum use to be gluten free. This past year I believe it was, they changed their formula and last I heard (called them around Feb/March) it was not gluten free. They are hoping in the future it will be gluten free again. I take Nature Made. Like already posted they lable their bottles gluten free if they are. The brand is sold in many stores and... -
ARCHIVED Anyone Read "let's Eat Out!"
GlutenGalAZ replied to givenupgluten's topic in Publications & Publicity
Hi. I recently went to check out our local library (after living here for two years now) I got a couple gluten free books to see if I wanted to buy them -- hard to tell online. One of them is the one you are asking about. For me I wouldn't be able to get a lot of use out of it but if you travel it might be worth buying. I would recommend going to your... -
I use to love cheetos and other Frito Lay's brand chips. But after going gluten free and learning more I was noticing I was still feeling sick when I ate them. It is nice that some of the food companies are now posting gluten free lists but it is sad when you get excited about getting to eat food from the grocery store with the rest of your family and then...

ARCHIVED Newman O's
GlutenGalAZ replied to strawberrygm's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I have looked at that brand a lot in the health food store and I saw the same thing Wheat Free but not Gluten Free. If you want you can list the ingredients so someone can comment on that part. Pretty much everything I have seen in their line is not gluten free. I don't bother with looking at the ingredients when I see not Gluten Free (I always look... -
ARCHIVED Newbie..need Help With Bread Please
GlutenGalAZ replied to Mandy2's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
The best Gluten Free Bread I have had is home made bread yummm. I always toast it. For some reason, not sure gluten free bread cools quickly so you are toasting it to get a little crunch and its like it brings out the real bread taste. The bread that I make the most is the Gluten Free Pantry White Sandwich bread... couple minutes to make then 30-... -
ARCHIVED Rice Vinegar And Sesame Oil
GlutenGalAZ replied to superbeansprout's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
There is a White Bread Recipe that I am wanting to make but it requires Rice Vinegar. From what I recall (please correct me) if using vinegar make sure it is distilled. I was at the grocery store over the weekend looking for rice vinegar and I saw the brand mentioned above plus some others, but they said ... Rice Vinegar or Vinegar (rice and water) but... -

ARCHIVED 'sweet' White Sorghum Flour / Light Bean Flour
GlutenGalAZ replied to GlutenGalAZ's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Thank you I think it will be neat to try out the sorghum instead of using rice flour since it has a sweeter taste from my understanding. That is interesting .... wow learn something everyday. I never really pictured myself wanting to cook and bake so much but am having so much fun learning new things and trying new foods out. Thank you... -

GlutenGalAZ replied to GlutenGalAZ's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Thank you so much for the helpful information. I am going to print this out and put it in my folder with all my cooking notes. I really enjoy making my own foods instead of buying them (seems a lot healthier) but I am still stuck with some cooking situations/questions so can't make everything I see quite yet. Thank you again!!! -
ARCHIVED Kinnikinnick Plain Bagels
GlutenGalAZ replied to wolfie's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I tried those bagels last year before I knew what I was reacting to (tapioca flour/starch) but I did not care for them, the taste. I made my own bagels last week from the book The Gluten-Free Kitchen by Roben Ryberg. They were easy to make and tasted good/okay. I am hoping they taste even better the next time I make them, thinking about trying a flavor... -
ARCHIVED 'sweet' White Sorghum Flour / Light Bean Flour
GlutenGalAZ replied to GlutenGalAZ's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Thank you for the replies If I have a recipe that lists the flours individually (not a gluten-free flour blend) then what type of flour can you sub with sorghum flour? Is sorghum flour more in the rice flour family? So if I made something that required white rice flour and brown rice flour could I keep the brown rice flour as is and sub the white... -

ARCHIVED Where To Draw The Line With Wheat Free Or gluten-free Foods?
GlutenGalAZ replied to GF avenger's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
When I first went gluten free I did let my gut lead the way with food a lot. For me it was hard going gluten free all the way b/c I just didn't have time to figure out what to eat and do all of the proper research due to work hours. I have been officially gluten free since February and have been feeling really good. I like to snack on apples with... -
ARCHIVED 'sweet' White Sorghum Flour / Light Bean Flour
GlutenGalAZ posted a topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
My mom brought me a bag of Bob's Red Mill 'Sweet' White Sorghum Flour when she came to visit. What type of flours can you substitute in order to use this? I have a cookbook where some of the recipies call for light bean flour so I am trying to figure out what type of flour that would be. I am slowly getting the hang of cooking/baking and trying... -
ARCHIVED Roasted Nut Crunch Bars
GlutenGalAZ replied to lpellegr's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I have tried both the Almond one and the Peanut one, didn't have a problem with either one. The Peanut one I like more just b/c the Almond one for me had too many big chunks of almonds in it. I brought them to work for a snack during the day and the almond one I would feel like little parts of it would get stuck in my throat and I would caugh -- so... -

My dr tested me for some vitamin deficiencies.... I am taking B-Complex and a B12 Vitamin now daily ( & a Multi Vitamin). She said that also taking birth control can do stuff with your B vitamines in your body (lower over time / mess around with). I have been taking the vitamines since February and have noticed a big change from how I was feeling. -
ARCHIVED Buttermilk Powder
GlutenGalAZ replied to GlutenGalAZ's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Thanks for the reply and what you use Im gonna go by the grocery store today or tomorrow but am wondering if I am just overlooking the buttermilk powder on the shelf or is buttermilk powder hard to find? I have seen evaported milk down the baking aisle but not buttermilk. Hopfully the aisle will not be busy when I go so I can look better. Does... -
I am newer with Bob's Red Mill products but recently bought a bag of the Buttermilk Powder so I could use a pizza and pancake mix recipe I have. I looked at the ingredients at the time of purchase and all it says is Dried Sweet Cream Buttermilk (Milk). But ahhh did not notice till we got home that it does not have the Gluten Free picture on the lower left...

ARCHIVED Safe Canned Tuna Fish?
GlutenGalAZ replied to *lee-lee*'s topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I have done that so many times -- go to the store to get something in particular and then get everything else but the one thing I really wanted I use the small curd cottage cheese and you just add in a little at a time till you get the amount you want can also add in relish or cut up celery. I like to make sandwiches (of course), wraps with corn tortillas...
