  1. Feel free to PM me and you can attach it as a PDF.
  2. Thanks for the tip, I've not heard of them before.
  3. This is a first for me, spinal fluid leak? Many of the symptoms do overlap: https://spinalcsfleak.org/about-spinal-csf-leaks/symptoms-of-spinal-csf-leak/
  4. Be sure your diet is 100% gluten-free, and eating in restaurants, even food from a gluten-free menu, is a common source of contamination. In general if your ataxia and other symptoms are caused by gluten, they should improve over the next few months, if your diet is strict enough.
  5. I used to get crazy vertigo sensations, as if I were standing on the edge of a tall building, which triggered panic attacks, and I also ended up in the ER several times before I was finally diagnosed.
  6. If they ever do reply, please share their response with us.
  7. I agree, and I've not seen any scientific support for anyone with celiac disease, even those who are asymptomatic, to continue eating gluten. This article may be helpful:
  8. I think this should be fine given your awareness of the possible issues. Proper hand washing should eliminate the risks. I'm not sure about the bed issue, but perhaps make sure your cat doesn't eat in your bed.
  9. I've never heard this theory before, and you've referred to a "study" or article on this, yet you have not posted a link to it. Can you share this article with us?
  10. The only caveat would be the ~9% of celiacs who can't tolerate avenin protein, which seems to be a related intolerance for a sub-group of celiacs.
  11. Salicylate intolerance is new to me as well, and I did not realize that they are in so many foods.
  12. Thanks for sharing this!
  13. I've not had a repeat biopsy, but your results could caused by several things: 1) Perhaps your diet is not 100% gluten-free. Do you eat in restaurants or outside your home? 2) Since you had such severe villi damage, Marsh 3b being close to the worst level, healing could take more time, and 2 years might not be enough time. 3) You may have a...
  14. I agree, only the maker can make a gluten-free claim, and if it's on the package it should be gluten-free.
  15. Given the limited diet available to the OP it might make sense to supplement with thiamine, rather than give them up.
  16. In Okinawa sweet potatoes are the primary starch, instead of white rice, and is considered one reason why Okinawans are among the longest lived people on Earth. They live longer than people in all other parts of Japan, and the main dietary difference is sweet potatoes. It would be surprising to me that they could be so unhealthy for you, given the actual...
  17. For clarification, "may contain wheat" does not mean that it does contain wheat. Many companies use CYA statements like this, and if you investigate further you may find out that a product likely doesn't contain wheat. But it is always best to simply find products that are labelled gluten-free, or at the very least don't say "may contain wheat."
  18. Hello @BJO, If you cannot afford testing for celiac disease simply try a gluten-free diet for a couple of months to see if your symptoms improve:
  19. This would be up to you to decide. Many celiacs avoid product with such labels, and especially those who are very sensitive. Sometimes companies that used shared equipment have additional info on their sites which discuss their cleaning procedures.
  20. This article about the gluten-free status of Hellman's mayonnaise should be helpful.
  21. Welcome to the forum! A positive genetic marker, and in this case you have two markers that are positive, can only give you the probability of you developing celiac disease, but does not indicate one way or another whether or not you actually have it. The only way to find out would be to have a blood test done (see below), and to do that you would...
  22. While Blistex does not say "Gluten-Free" on its label, and the company may make CYA statements like this, there are zero gluten ingredients in Blistex, thus it is naturally gluten-free: https://blistex.com/product/medicated-lip-balm/
  23. It's terrible that they lost your blood sample! Here is some more info on this:
  24. I also could not tolerate cow's milk when I was diagnosed, but after a couple of years could.
  25. There are some studies done that have shown that Casein/cow's milk protein can also elevate tTG in some idividuals.
