  1. Definitely, I also had many of the symptoms you mentioned, including panic attacks and gluten ataxia--most of my symptoms improved after 2-3 years gluten-free. The most common nutrient deficiencies associated with celiac disease that may lead to testing for the condition include iron, vitamin D, folate (vitamin B9), vitamin B12, calcium, zinc, and...
  2. Can you tell us more about the blood screening they did for wheat and gluten? Were these allergy tests, or was this a celiac disease blood screening? I ask this because if it was an allergy test then it would not detect celiac disease.
  3. Many people with celiac disease, especially those who are in the 0-2 year range of their recovery, have additional food intolerance issues which could be temporary. To figure this out you may need to keep a food diary and do an elimination diet over a few months. Some common food intolerance issues are dairy/casein, eggs, corn, oats, and soy. The...
  4. Thanks for the warning. What brand of coffee beans...Delicious Orchards, or is there a specific brand for this product?
  5. Have you considered increasing the fat content of your meals? Increasing the fat content in meals can help individuals with celiac disease feel less hungry by providing longer-lasting satiety, since fats digest more slowly than carbohydrates and proteins. Here are five healthy ways to incorporate more fats into a gluten-free diet: Include sliced...
  6. I agree that gluten should be declared in the ingredients just like wheat and other allergens, it would make life much easier for us. While there have been some instances of non-compliance, the FDA monitors and enforces regulations to ensure that gluten-free products meet the required standards. Non-compliance can result in enforcement actions, including...
  7. I can't speak for that brand specifically...there are many such products on the market, but I would only consider ones that contained AN-PEP enzymes, as there have been many studies done on AN-PEP which show that it can break down small amounts of gluten in the stomach, before it reaches your intestines. One of our sponsors here, GliadinX includes AN-PEP...
  8. Celiac.com 06/12/2024 - A recent study presented at the Digestive Disease Week (DDW) Annual Meeting 2024 has sparked a significant conversation around the relationship between celiac disease and obesity. Traditionally, celiac disease was...
  9. It looks like yes, it says gluten-free on the package:
  10. Good questions, and we're trying to find out more about what lab did the testing for the study, and we've also reached out to the GFCO for comment.
  11. I think you might mean this article: and it looks like there is already one lawsuit, an older one, regarding glyphosate level in gluten-free foods, but these findings could certainly lead to more, especially considering "The highest level of glyphosate - 2,963 ppb found in Banza Chickpea Pasta - is the highest amount ever measured in human food by the...
  12. You would likely need to contact them directly to find out. If you do, let us know what you find out.
  13. The results of a recent study indicate that not all products labelled gluten-free are safe, and perhaps the biggest surprise were the issues with products that were GFCO certified.
  14. Celiac.com 06/11/2024 - The findings from a study conducted by Moms Across America shed light on concerning levels of glyphosate, pesticides, low mineral content, and even gluten in gluten-free products. This is particularly relevant to...
  15. Flax Seed: This seed has many health benefits such as high-quality protein, fiber, B and C vitamins, iron, and zinc, anti-cancer properties, omega-3 fatty acids, and many other benefits. To use as an egg substitute grind 2 tablespoons flaxseed and add 6 tablespoons boiling water, let set for 15 minutes then whisk with a fork—this mixture will replace 2 e...
  16. It looks like it is naturally gluten-free, and the only ingredients are decaffeinated green tea leaves.
  17. You can still have celiac disease with negative blood test results: Clinical and genetic profile of patients with seronegative coeliac disease: the natural history and response to gluten-free diet: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5606118/ Seronegative Celiac Disease - A Challenging Case: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc...
  18. Since you are comfortable with your DH diagnosis, I don't see any reason for you to go on a gluten challenge--eating a lot of gluten daily for 6-8 weeks--just to check out the condition of your intestines. The reason I say this is because with the DH diagnosis, you need to be 100% gluten-free for life anyway, so I don't really see a reason to make yourself...
  19. Celiac.com 06/10/2024 - The European Union's ban on certain single-use plastics in July 2021 has led to an increase in the use of biobased and biodegradable polymers for food contact materials (FCM). These materials, often made from renewable...
  20. Celiac.com 06/08/2024 - Gastrointestinal disorders, such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), gastritis, peptic ulcer disease (PUD), and celiac disease, significantly affect individuals globally...
  21. A better approach for you to get a formal DH diagnosis might be to eat gluten for a day, then have a dermatologist do a skin biopsy for DH near the blisters, but again, since you already know gluten causes your DH, I think you have your answer already. Also, it is idea if you could wean yourself off of Dapsone in the long term, as it does have some serious...
  22. Just FYI, dermatitis herpetiformis (DH) is a skin manifestation of celiac disease, so having DH means you have celiac disease, even if you don't exhibit typical intestinal symptoms. Many people with celiac disease do not have any symptoms.
  23. I've not tired this one, but it is gluten-free: https://www.thorne.com/products/dp/daily-greens-plus
