    ARCHIVED Dim Sum

You may just have to learn to make your own Dim Sum. Most of the time they splash some soy sauce into the inside mixture. Lots of the wrappers are not just rice. And then the fryers are used for glutened items also. There are dinning cards you can print to give to the restaurant. Or download the App for your iPhone. Find out what nationality the chefs...
  2. Simple answer for them "Why in the world would you even think that?".
  3. I love the idea of using lunch meat to line a muffin tin. Bacon cups would work. I'd make the bacon cups, drain well then put them into a paper cupcake liner and pour in the an egg mixture. There are lots of crustless gluten free quiche recipes online. Bacon cups Open Original Shared Link Love the egg muffin recipe and directions.

  5. IF you search on "8 Tips for Going to College Gluten Free" Freeville has a nice article just for information. May help some others who are off to college.
  6. I keep my bread crumbs in the freezer in a ziploc bag with no problems.
  7. Better to be ushered out than fed something that was not gluten free. I wish more places would be honest that they can't serve something gluten free. I think it was an honor to have this happen.
  8. As soon as I get out to find some eggs I'm making another one of these.

  10. Oh yea, phyllo dough I do miss. I'm too lazy to make it myself so I'm waiting for a gluten-free frozen phyllo dough. I see lots of people want French Bread. If you can have dairy, Against the Grain's Baguettes are excellent. Many of my non gluten free friends think this is the best french bread they've ever had. It will satisfy that craving and make excellent...
  11. I can't think of a thing. lol I've found most everything gluten free so I don't miss much. I still have not found a replacement for Cream of Shrimp soup. Making myself hasn't produced the same results. I used it to make chip dip.
  12. So sorry they did not agree with you. I eat these. I very sensitive but haven't had a problem--knock on wood. I cut these tiny things in half, spoon caramel topping on and then whipped cream, half for me half for dh.
  13. I like the Betty Crocker Brownie mix if I add chopped nuts and coconut, frost it as soon as it come out of the oven with marshmallow fluff and then when cool I frost with chocolate frosting. I do like the BC chocolate chip mix. It isn't like toll-house but almost as good. I am careful with baking times with gluten free items. Just a few minutes too long...
  14. When I took my dad to a heart Arrhythmia specialist at Mayo Clinic we were told the best way to help a fast beating heart was to drink a sports drink like Gatorade. Since I have the same problem of my heart racing at times I found this worked for me. Another note, some people find they have seizures when eating gluten.
  15. My standard cold lunch is lunch meat and cheese wrapped around a pickle. You could wrap this with lettuce, use any type of lunch meat, any cheese including cream cheese (if dairy is tolerated) and even used a cooked veggie instead of a pickle. Bento boxes are another great lunch idea. Any tupperware will work and it does not have to be asia food. There are...

  17. Too bad. She's probably seen a lot of patients who wanted to get pregnant but can't because they are not gluten free. In this area she is not doing her job.
  18. Walking in a wheat field. Sounds like something that could cause nightmares. I personally am really sensitive but I'd try it. I suggest you try this just to see if you have problems. Since the gluten isn't floating around I would not think it would bother you. Just do not reach down, grab a stalk to chew. Watch your skin for reactions. Take a shower when...
  19. Good luck working in the deli. Sounds like a good move. Let us know how it goes.
  20. So true. Thanks for the reminder.
  21. Is he a boyfriend just for now because you have an opening in your life or is he a possible partner for life? A partner for life will be willing to adapt their life to ensure you are healthy. If he's not willing, you are not that important to him.
  22. I cook my own beans. I usually buy a small bag of the brand I want to use to try them out. I tried one brand a few times, was fine. The next bag I used I had a major problems. I since have learned to wash the dried beans three times with lots of water before soaking and cooking. And I wash them not just rinse lightly. A large container of water with 10 times...
