  1. So sorry your are sick. Always double check that the product being used if gluten free. I always question them especially if it is flavored.
  2. If the brand name of the product is E-Z Em all but three of their products are gluten free. I had the doctor write on the referral that the product should be gluten free and then the tech person called the company when I was waiting for the test. See this post:
  3. gluten-free Carrot Cheesecake I used the Carrot cake recipe from Betty Crocker
  4. Relax. Remember the cereal never touched the box, it was in a plastic bag. You should be fine unless she used the cereal as packing matter. Wait, she may have. One in ten trillion that she'd used the cereal but since it went to someone gluten free.......Have someone else open it outside, just in case. But relax, it's fine.
  5. I decided to attempt the Carrot Cheesecake at the following site. It takes boxes of Carrot cake mix. I'm lazy so did not want to make a cake mix myself. Then I remembered Betty Crocker had a gluten-free carrot cake recipe on their site using their gluten-free yellow cake mix. I will let you know how it turns out. Making it for this coming Friday (Aug 13,...
  6. Congratulations! My dh went gluten free just like yours. Took 8 years but that's ok.
  7. If you ask for it (at your local stores), it will come (to you).
  8. Noah Webster just turned over in his grave. Several times. lol Can I post some of these new words on my facebook page?
  9. Of course they drove to a store to get the Pepto. They are afraid you might sue them. Glad you are following up on this. The more people hear us complain the sooner we might be safe to eat out.
  10. Take it out on the person who gave you this to eat. Might put an end to this happening again. Rejoice in the fact that you know why you feel so terrible. It could be worse. You might have no idea of why you feel this way. So sorry you feel so terrible and that someone you love can not be trusted to keep you safe. I pray that he realises he needs to be more...
  11. When this happened to us we went to his family's house. Then I spent the actual holiday at my house with friends and family that wanted to show up. If you go to his family's place just bring gluten free food. Research online where the closest health food store is located in their area. Call the store to see how much gluten free food they stock. Then you will...
  12. Constipation was one of the things Dr Murray told me could happen to people after going gluten free. 3 to 5 prunes every morning should take care of the problem. Also increase your fiber intake. Beans are good for this is you tolerate them. The key is to eat prunes and or fiber daily. Not just when you are feeling constipated.
  13. Could be the tomatoes. If your intestines were a little upset the day before, the tomatoes could have irritated them a little more.
  14. I am also inviting myself to dinner at your house! If I was you I would drop these three items for the next two weeks just to see if it helped. I find I can not eat Amy's Gluten free items. I do not eat Oredia's at all. Now I can't tell you exactly why but I'm sure I probably had a problem with them at one time. I just do not eat chicken nuggets. I make chicken...
  15. Try cutting out the Chex. I find they make me tried after eating them. My dh has no problem with them.
  16. I made these last night. They are perfect but I did use real butter that was room temperature. The dough did look dry. You just found out why they print that little message about not using melted butter. Glad they taste good. Tell everyone they are just the fancy french version of chocolate chip cookies. Instead of using the microwave, next time grate...
  17. Ravenwoodglass, I always thought it would be nice to dry out a piece of the wedding cake for a shadow box. Just not sure if it would really dry without molding. I'm sure the frosting would dry ok.
  18. This is an exellent learning experience for your daughter. She will be having a gluten free wedding. So spend the time talking about how the two of you could change things to be gluten free. It is not an eating event. It should not be about the food.
  19. Had a barium swallow today. The tech was wonderful. She just grabbed the phone to call the company when I asked if the product they used was gluten free. This hospital used "E Z Em" products. She made a list of three items that are NOT gluten free and posted it for the other techs. NOT gluten free products: Readi Cat 2 Vanilla Smoothie is not gluten...
  20. Not uncommon at all. Sometimes your intestines need time to heal before they can digest dairy and soy. Cut them out for a couple of months and then try adding them to your diet one at a time.
  21. Sub sandwich made with Against the Grain baguettes--your favorite using subways menu as a recipe--these are filling and will satisfy your hunger. Put lettuce in a bag and a little dressing in a Tupperware container to add right before eating. Can also be made on regular gluten free bread. Some cleaned cut up fresh veggies for munching Chips or popcorn...
  22. Love Coke and Dr Pepper but hate the taste of Pepsi. No problems with them (so far!).
  23. I use her Low Carb/Body Clutter Menu Mailer. It always gives gluten free suggestions. I love that my meals are all planned including a shopping list.
  24. I just came home from my GI appointment. The results from the small intestine biopsies done 3 weeks ago says in black and white type: NO INDICATION OF CELIAC DISEASE. So if I go by this test, I do not have celiac disease which is incorrect. I have celiac disease but I was gluten free before the test so it does not show up because my intestines have healed...
  25. I do love her recipes. I've used her plan for years.
