Everything posted by Canadian Karen

  1. LOL! Don't worry, we're a pretty easy-going bunch - correct spelling is not important to us. Hugs! Karen
  2. I have more!: I REALLY dislike cleaning my bathrooms (think one celiac with chronic diarrhea and twin 5 yr old boys with lousy aim). I HATE the feeling of helplessness when you are worried about a friend on-line but have no way of knowing if they are okay because your only contact with them is through the wires of a computer! I strongly dislike...
  3. Lynne, Told ya there would be a collective sigh of relief on this thread when you finally posted!!! By the way, glad to see you using your new avatar! We will be going through some serious Lynne withdrawals until you get your computer back!! LOL! We luv ya! Hugs. Karen
  4. It's good to know that it's safe. I have toyed with the idea for a few years now of getting a Claddagh ring tatooed around my ankle.... or perhaps on the small of my back. But I keep chickening out....... I'm such a wuss........ Hugs. Karen
  5. Lord Vincent, Tymber is getting cuter and cuter! Look at those cheeks! Hugs. Karen
  6. Lynne, Don't make me come down there! Ya know I will! We wanna hear from you...... I'm getting the "warm and fuzzies" reading all the posts to you from the people who luv ya! Hugs. Karen
  7. When I get a bad headache like that, I take Tylenol #1 with codeine. Up here in Canada, you can get them over the counter, without a prescription. I certainly don't have to worry about the constipation part of the side effects! I only wish it would happen!! Hugs. Karen
  8. Everything I need is right here, including the best support system I could ever ask for. The only other site I would suggest would be the www.delphiforums.com for the delphi list. Hugs! Karen
  9. Lynne, PM me - I might be able to make your day! Hugs! Karen
  10. We should become spokespersons for the Altoids company!!!! Maybe an Altoids tin can be our mascot! Hugs! Karen
  11. When I make gluten-free pancakes, they can't taste the difference anyway because they have their pancakes literally floating in syrup, I could substitute my gluten-free pancakes for rock hard rice bread and they wouldn't be able to tell the difference! I do go through a fortune in syrup, though!!!! I am glad you are getting the hang of the gluten-free...
  12. Paula, You hit the nail on the head with regards to your presumption that they don't want to put ANYTHING in writing for fear of litigation. One question I do have though for our American friends. With regard to your new labelling laws, does it also apply to naturopathic supplements, and generally the stuff in health food stores that usually is not...
  13. This thread should be of interest to you. Perhaps you could use the letter in there and join our crusade by sending it out to insurance companies..... Open Original Shared Link Hugs! Karen
  14. Aw Deb, I wish I was there to give you a huge {{{{{{{{{HUG}}}}}}}}}} Hugs. Karen
  15. Carrie! Awesome new pic! You look like you stepped out of a Vogue magazine!!!! Hugs! Karen
  16. Hey, Carol, that's cool! Thanks for letting me know that I am not the only one those things happen to! I have many, many DUH! moments!!! And with four kids to pack lunches for, that's alot of DUH! moments!!! LOL! Hugs! Karen
  17. I really dislike the fact that I feel really DUH! and stupid because the whole thing went over (way over!) my head. I didn't understand the parody thing (I am suffering greatly from brain fog and my dictionary is not at hand.....) and I didn't understand the response to the parody thing (I am really clueless, aren't I? Sheesh, I am pathetic! ) Oh well...
  18. Barbara, I agree with Deb. Come back over the to lovefest. I'll give you a flower for your hair........ And someone must be smokin' somethin over there, it startin' to smell awful sweet over there! LOL! Take it from someone who has been through the wringer a few times here (and I have the shell to prove it!), don't let it get ya down, it...
  19. Sheesh! I feel like I'm in San Francisco in the 60's with flowers in my hair!!! Okay, I'll join in the lovefest! I love that God blessed me with four children after I was told by doctors I had a 50/50 chance of EVER being able to conceive. I love when my boys fall asleep in my arms. I love when they make you feel like they are the centre...
  20. Okay, this should be interesting.... I will use the words strongly dislike, since I have a hard time using the word hate (I guess it's from my upbringing, Mom always was mortified if we used the word "hate", we used to get the "WE DON'T USE THAT WORD IN THIS HOUSE!" when us siblings were fighting and yelling at each other! LOL!) I strongly dislike...
  21. Hi Mother-in-Law, This girl is one lucky gal if she is going to have you as a MIL! You are going above and beyond what most current MIL's do, not to mention future MIL! Here are links to a couple of threads that I dug up that might be of some help to you: Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link Good...
  22. I love Envirokids cereals! The Gorilla one is my favourite. I have it every morning, piled high with hemp seeds (nice nutty taste and great for Omega-3). Delicious!!!! Hugs! Karen
  23. The next time your "significant other" says you can't have celiac because you don't have the gene, show him this article: https://www.celiac.com/st_prod.html?p_prodi...-35106451986.cb Clearly, 60% of cases are due to genes that are not yet identified....... So much is still unknown about this disease and to make a sweeping remark like that is just...
  24. Oh Monica, you absolutely cannot live without the delphi list. It is a godsend! Go here: Open Original Shared Link On the left hand side, click on "Health & Wellness" then the first (or sometimes second) forum that comes up is "Celiac Disease On-Line Support Group", click on that. Scroll down to "forum folders": the very first one is...
  25. Old El Paso confused me also. If you buy the "Fiesta in a Box" Soft Taco Kit, the way the ingredients are listed leads you to believe that the taco seasoning contains gluten, so I never ate it (only drooled when I made it for the kids). Then one day at the grocery store, I saw the taco seasoning mix packet being sold individually, so I picked it up and...
